Nice bar with great selection of local beers and a full bar. The bar is attached to a cheese shop and that’s where they cut the cheese(no pun intended) and cook the other menu items. I would stick to some local beer and order a custom cheese plate. Highly suggest the aged cheddar, horseradish and chive cheese and some Ruben sliders. I did also try the sausage sampler and pretzels but nothing special. Stick to making a nice large custom cheese platter.

This was where I started my Milwaukee dining experience, so it would be only right that I ende here as well. Beautiful bar, friendly staff and most importantly delicious drinks and food. The surrounding area is filled with Irish and German bars — don’t miss this place along with its neighbors and don’t forget to go next-door and buy the Cheese!

Good service. Weekday lunch crowd. We had a party of 10 and we got seated immediately. Good food and the bartender was knowledgeable on her beer and food. Everyone enjoyed their food.

Fun restaurant/bar in Milwaukee. I have been here a few times. It’s a nice place with good food and great service. Also a pretty good selection of local craft beer on tap. I recommend a cheese plate. Delicious and good for sharing. Their burgers are good too. Bartenders and servers are friendly and good at their jobs. The place is usually more full of tourists than locals. See my review for the attached Wisconsin Cheese Mart.

We live in Milwaukee. The Über Tap Room serves a crap load of beer and cheese. Is there really any more to be said? It can get noisy and and busy… and sometimes the seating and serving patterns get a little haphazard. Nothing that would ruin your night. If you actually need to eat a real meal, you might want to stop off elsewhere first. But if you’re happy with beer and an absurd amount of cheese… then you’re home!

I’ve only been here once, but really enjoyed it. Fun place to go with a group and a nice selection of beer. We were able to all try a few different beers and also ordered a couple plates of meat and cheese. Casual and cozy– nice place to go after a long week at work. My only complaint is that when I’ve tried to get people to go with me since, they’ve expressed that they think it’s too pricey, especially compared to what’s around it. Not sure if that’s true or not, but just disappointed I haven’t found anyone to go back with me.

Been here once after working by it for a year. I was blown away by the great cheese, sausage and drinks. Now that I’m a ways from downtown I don’t make it down there often but when I do(or have people from out of town in) I’ll be sure to swing in(not to mention they have a great bloody).

Upon arriving in Milwaukee, after getting stuck in a snow storm, this is the first stop we made. We needed beers! It was a Monday afternoon and not all that crowded, which was nice. They have a really great beer list here! We started off with the pretzel, which was super tasty. Its a nice size and comes with a great mustard sauce, and we ordered the cheese sauce on the side as well. Definitely recommend the pretzel, went very nicely with the beer! Secondly, we ordered a cheese plate and this was delicious. There were four different cheeses on the plate as well as a mix of fruit and nuts to sample. Definitely recommend this place for a wonderful cheese plate and beer!

Be warned, the giant pretzel is the John Holmes, Spinal Tap cucumber of pretzels. We were only two and could not conquer this pretzel. Otherwise, the atmosphere is slightly lacking. The menu is just right for a cheese restaurant. And this would have been a four star review if they hadn’t tapped out of two beers I requested.

You would appreciate the place ONLY if you are cheese lover. Went there late afternoon. Short after we placed our order, people start to come in! By the time we left, the place was packed. A place going to be on my list every time I visit the city!

This was my favorite stop on our little self-guided bar crawl. Primarily because they had $ 3 taps with some great offerings(love a deal!), but also because the bar tender was really friendly and super knowledgeable about different beers and was happy to help me find something I’d like. We did have some cheese curds as well, which I expected to be better for WI, but were fine.

Über Tap Room is one of my favorite places to visit in Milwaukee. It encompasses everything great about Wisconsin — great beer and an abundance of cheese. Coming from Chicago where a meat and cheese plate can cost $ 40, Über Tap Room prices kept my wallet happy and my cheese loving heart full. The atmosphere is warm and inviting and the area surrounding is lively and interesting.(Stop next door to Usingers to see a troubling fairy tale story lining the walls). Ranging from $ 10-$ 13, they offer a great variety of cheese plates and a nice abundance of sides to pair along with it. With«Cheese Bar» in their name, you have to expect great things, and they definitely deliver. All this talk about cheese is making me miss Wisconsin now. Hey Über Tap Room — any interest in opening a Chicago location?

A must visit in WI! Great service and an authentic cheesy experience — they even have a full to go cheese service next door! We had drinks that were very unique — loved he Belgian Red! — and checking in on Unilocal buy one get one! The frank Mac cheese was pretty good but they were out of pasta so there were barely any pieces in it… so she didn’t charge us for that. Very appropriate considering. The crust and meat were great, just wanted the whole dish. We also tried two cheese platters and the beer cheddar was my favorite. Come visit and enjoy!

I really, really wanted to like this place, but while the brat was delicious and the rest of the menu looked good the whole experience wasn’t great. First of all, they were out of cheese curds before 7pm on a Saturday night. It’s Wisconsin — people are going to want those. Second of all, if you aren’t getting beer — good luck. The bartenders don’t seem to know what kind of hard alcohol they have and the drinks are very weak! We also waited forever which I couldn’t understand since there weren’t that many people there. Further, we had to beg to get refills.

I’m going to make a bold statement here and say this might be one of the best places to go in the city of Milwaukee. Guys, do you know what you can do here? You can order a magical array of cheese to be delivered to you on a wooden board with crackers and fruits. You can let them coordinate a cheese array for you, or you can dictate your own magical dairy meal of your choosing. You can get beer. SO many beers! Beers on draft from Milwaukee, and Wisconsin, and beyond. YOUCANGETCHEESEONYOURBEER. LIKE, AS A GARNISH. It’s like you fell asleep and started dreaming of Milwaukee, and in your dream someone is like, «Would you like your microbrewery draft beer to be cheesed?» and you answer, «Why yes, that would be delightful,» and the fact that there is a cheese garnish on your pint glass makes all the sense in the world. But it’s reality. THISPLACEEXISTS! My husband and stepped in here during Labor Day weekend planning to grab a quick drink, and I think we ended up hanging out here for like 2 and a half hours eating cheese, drinking beer, watching tennis, and just generally enjoying #TheAmericanDream. If you find yourself within the mythical and magical Milwaukee city limits, but the Über Tap Room and Cheese Bar on your«must visit» list. Tell them Kat sent you and then please eat ALL the cheese.

Belly up for curds and suds! Their focus here ISCHEESE. This is a CHEESEBAR. Also, beer.(I bet you were able to surmise from the name of the joint, eh?) This is a great spots for locals and out of towners alike — one side’s a bar, one side’s a cheese store. Ya dig? Snag yo’self a fancy grilled cheese or some fried curds and kick back with a beverage, stop by for a 20-year cheddar(no big, right?) or do both. Choose yr own cheese-tastic adventure? They ship, so if you’re visiting, you can always go that route, too. A nice, cheesy reprieve on old world Third!

This place is fantastic! My husband and I are in Wisconsin for a wedding. We wanted to try some beer and cheese that’s from Wisconsin and this is the perfect location! The staff is very knowledgeable and did an awesome beer and cheese pairing for us. We will be purchasing several cheeses from the cheese house attached to the bar.

So, we ended up here by accident. Husband and I went on our own private baby-free bar crawl because, well, because the baby was with grandma. We were about done with OW3rd and not that impressed. But, I said, no, I want to try one more place. It was one of those nights that really can’t be recreated. I might not ever actually go back for fear that it will disappoint compared to this experience. There were few people there… ruh roh, this doesn’t bode well? Well that certainly didn’t stop the bartenders from being really fun. And having great channel selection. And indulging my cheese wishes. Several times. You can get a cheese«wedgie» in your beer. Yep, it’s a wedge of cheese, hangin’ on your beer like a plastic monkey. And not some tiny little laughing cow wedge. It’s a hunk of cheese. I didn’t know I needed cheese on my beer, but I did. And you do, too.

Four stars only because we stopped in on a Friday night and had one drink. Maybe they’ll get that fifth one if I ever get in again to try their food! Hubs had a beer and I had a cocktail, the 3rd Street Mango. I’m not normally a fan of mango anything, but this drink was good! Not too sweet and just the right amount of strong to let me know that there was, indeed, booze in the glass. I was expecting an overly sweet, super-girly drink but I got a solidly decent cocktail. The bar wasn’t crowded yet and we were able to snag a table right by the window so we could people watch. Looking forward to coming back for lunch! 96÷2015÷191

I feel like I drank my way through Milwaukee last Saturday, which I’m not complaining about! We made a stop here and we were not disappointed. I got a flight of beers which was only $ 8 — great price. Seemed like it could get crowded here but worth it. Great seduction of beers on tap and great cheeses too!(I went to the cheese store attached on a previous trip to Milwaukee and highly recommend that as well). If I didn’t have more places to drink at that day, I would have stayed longer.

I seriously am drooling over the memory of my lunch here last week. It was a nice afternoon, so I walked over to the Tap Room for a quick lunch. The menu is straight and simple, comfort foods and sandwiches paired with great local beers and made with awesome local cheeses. I was on my lunch break so sadly I did not imbibe in any of the delicious beers or homemade cocktails, but I did land on a particularly phenomenal mac’n’cheese dish… FRANKSANDMAC. Seriously guys this was a grown up version of my childhood favorite. Substitute Usingers sausage for the Oscar Mayer wieners and real melty Wisconsin cheeses for the powdered version, and you have my meal. It was sprinkled with a fresh parmesan over the top before it was toasted in the cast iron skillet, so there was an indescribable crunchy savory layer over the sausage slices. I generously applied tabasco and slowly slipped into a food coma. This one will be trouble.

Came here on Friday for a lakefront brewery and cheese pairing and had a great time. Mitch was very friendly, have us a tour of the basement tap room which was so cool. Dirt floors and exposed brick everywhere. Rode this old service elevator back upstairs. Cheese sampling a we’re great, nice compliments to the beer. I liked the blue/cheddar blend one so much I ended up buying some. Also I won a cheese fudge that sounds weird but was SO good. Ordered Classic Mac and cheese and it was super gooey and rich. Pretzel was solid and brat looked yummy(friend ordered). Great drinks specials, especially Friday night -$ 3 all taps. Would definitely recommend this place to dine in or even just to come buy beer. Only con is parking kinda stinks but definitely not a deterrent.

I’m really in love with this place. Just a really cool vibe! From the cheese store next door, to the local Milwaukee beers you can order, and the different meat and cheese dishes. Servers have always been super nice and helpful in deciding on beers or cheese on the couple of occasions I’ve visited here. Definitely worth a stop if you’re visiting the Milwaukee area. I kinda thought it was funny my friend I was with tried to order a salad to replace the chips that come with the reuben she ordered. The guy kinda laughed because they really had no substitutions for a «healthier» alternative. Keep doing that beer n cheese Milwaukee. You are beautiful.

The bartenders helped me pick out an awesome local beer. The Moon Man was a good place to develop my beer palate lol. The Wisconsin Sampler cheese plate was by far the best cheese I’ve ever had.
