Having a respectable beard, my husband was approached to participate in the MKE Beard Book. What a stylish and hip way to bring some attention to men’s health! I joined him at The Refinery for the shoot. The space is warm and welcoming. Kayte handled all logistics and was there to support and Jessica got to work! Steve was a bit nervous but Jessica completely helped him relax and enjoy himself. The shots are amazing!!! We also saw some of Jessica’s other work and purchased a beautiful photo for our home… Jessica has a fantastic eye. Would highly recommend her! Can’t wait to see the book!

I came in today because of an open call suggestion from Nancy G on Unilocal Talk to do a photo shoot for beards. The refinery is on the 9th floor.
The building participated in open doors MKE I walked up 3 more floors to the top. What a view. They have an elevator which is very very fast the studio is bright along with all kinds of shades and photographers equipment. The MKE beard project is winding down by October. So this book will soon go to editing and print later on next year.
I met with the photographer she gave plenty of suggestions on relaxation and was able to capture a few great shots. That will be available later on to order and see online.

I was in the market for a photographer to update my professional head shot. I did not need it for anything beyond updating my LinkedIn page and other social media accounts that will say «hire me, I am a professional!» I found The Refinery, and looked through the website. I was impressed and decided to book the lunch time session. I walked from City Hall over to Wisconsin Ave. and met Jess. She is great at what she does, provides a lot of feedback and is highly professional. My photos turned out great! She actually took a lot of nice shots, so it was hard to pick just two. The lighting technique she used was crisp, and the photos were clear. She was able to bring out my personality in each photo. I highly recommend her!
