I love this cozy little place! The servers are so friendly and always remember regular customers and treat them as VIP! The owners are always present, friendly, and professional as well. The best part is that Soblemans is always consistent in service and food quality, so I know I’m going to love it just the same every time I go. They have great happy hour deals on drinks and food which differ each week day. Who doesn’t love $ 1 margaritas? If you haven’t tried soblemans and you want a quality burger, this is the place to go!

Holy Bloody Mary! The hubby and I visited Milwaukee a couple weeks ago with intentions of stopping here for lunch after seeing pics of their signature $ 60 Bloody(it has a whole chicken on it!). When we got there, it was only half an hour after opening, and it was already PACKED. Turns out it was Move-Out Weekend at Marquette so lots of college students were there eating a «last lunch» with their parents before heading home. We waited about 15 minutes to be seated, with many large parties still waiting behind us. The atmosphere is honestly pretty divey, which wasn’t fully what I expected from a now-restaurant chain(there are a couple other locations) but I guess that adds to the«specialness,» right? First things first, we ordered our Bloodies. We both ordered the Baconado, because this drink had Bacon-Wrapped Jalapeño Cheese Balls! Yes! It also came with a bunch of other fixin’s, but those are less important. And then, the free Miller Lite chaser, which was a nice unexpected touch — way to represent your city(I don’t like Miller Lite but I dealt with free beer like a champ). We decided not to get entrees and to just get a couple apps instead. We chose the Mozzarella Sticks(wonton wrapped) and Boneless Buffalo Wings. The Mozzarella Sticks were great, reminding me of Snappy Stix from Snappy Dog in Edison Park, Chicago. The wings were real chicken and you can tell they actually made them, or else have a mighty good factory that doesn’t flash freeze them. All in all, we had a pretty good experience. The bar served pretty typical bar food, but in a little bit tastier of a way. I don’t have too many complaints outside of their lack of bathrooms(they only have two — one for men, one for women, and several of us ladies waited for 20 minutes to use either one!) and the heartburn I got after eating way too much deep fried foods.

I’ve been here a few times to enjoy their bloody mary’s which they are known for. The burgers are delicious although i wish they were bigger. Nonetheless, its great place to grab a bite with friends and/or family.

Ok burgers. Kind of pricey, ~$ 10 each. Would go at happy hour, half off burgers. Liked ample condiments like spicy ketchup. Daily drink specials. I’d make reservations for big groups. Eating area is wheelchair accessible, depending on how packed it is.

Sobelman’s has one of the best burgers in town, and they absolutely kill it with their bloody marys. When I have friends who visit Milwaukee, this is one of the stops that I tell them to check out. I enjoy watching Packers games here with my family, and everyone always has a good time. It’s got a great atmosphere, but it’s a no frills place. They do what they do best, and that’s make awesome burgers and bloody marys. Some the size of your head. If you don’t believe me, check out their website.

WOW! Absolutely blown away — the best burger on the planet! The atmosphere is a little dark but I can for sure sacrifice seeing the food I’m eating for the unforgettable taste. A MARQUETTEGEM! Great place to go before and after the games as the vibes are always poppin. Dollar margs are great way to start your party and will leave you a little unsteady! The bacon cheese crack may actually be addicting and I’m totally ok with eating a whole serving! Definitely a place to check out!

Your average burger joint in a college town. Unique combination of burgers, and quick service. The bloody mary’s are nuts, you gotta check out the menu. However, my first sandwich was wrong, the fries are frozen, and it my meal wasn’t seasoned. Fine for the college student, but I was over college 10 years ago.

I’m a somewhat reluctant regular to Sobelman’s lunch because of the proximity to my place of work. It is hard to eat a burger in the middle of the day and come out strong for the rest of the afternoon. However, after a couple obligatory burgers I’ve branched out on their menu to the chicken sandwiches, they also have a turkey burger and a veggie burger. It seems like their burgers are slightly overpriced($ 8 – 9), but they usually have one of them on special for a good price($ 6). Their fries are good or you can swap them out for sweet potato fries or tator tots. They also recently added salads?! which is crucial. Please note the side salad is two dollars extra and is covered in cheese and bacon. If you really wanted you I think they would make you a strictly veggie salad although they would probably give you some weird looks. Anyways, it is probably worth checking Sobelman’s out if you live in Milwaukee but I, personally, would skip the $ 45 bloody mary with a full fried chicken on top.

Pretty good burgers and pretty good drinks for a pretty good price. On a regular day for a regular meal, I’d say this place is about average cost/taste. The burgers aren’t anything special, but they also don’t charge too much. However, if you get their burger of the day, or go on one of their themed nights(ie, 33¢ wings Wednesdays), you won’t find a better deal almost anywhere. As an out-of-towner, what’s with Milwaukee’s obsession with Bloody Marys?

Are you kidding me? If you’re in Milwaukee you have to go here. These are great burgers and fries. Bloodys that are practically meals and an all around good time with friends.‘the service is usually good but it doesn’t matter you’re on a college campus, lower your standards it’s not the Ritz Carlton. Order a Soblemans burger and smile!

I was in Milwaukee getting a tour of MU’s dental school and one of the D1 students recommended this place, and she raved about The Hangover burger, and how the egg’s told would flow down the side of the burger. She wasn’t wrong! The bun was really good, egg was cooked perfectly, and the jalapeño ketchup at the tables was really good! Oh, and the fries were soooo good!(I’m a sucker for fries and ketchup). I didn’t order any, but they had a bunch of cocktails(bloody Mary’s) that you could order with sliders, bacon, etc. towering over the drink. If only I didn’t have to drive 1.5 hrs back to Chicago, it would’ve been on! –oh! And I can’t forget the pickle that came with my entrée that I enjoyed ever so much!

We stopped by while visiting the Marquette campus and were very pleased withour meal. The kids had burgers and I had a chicken sandwich. The food was delicious, the staff was pleasant, and the prices reasonable. The cheese balls, fries, and buns used for burgers were outstanding. I’ve read some of the other reviews here and am confused by the implied expectations. This is a beer and burger place on a college campus– and a darn fine one! Go there expecting that and you’ll be very impressed. Next time I’m in Milwaukee, I’ll be stopping by there again.

I had Sobelman’s recommended to me very highly so I came by for lunch while on business in Milwaukee. To be honest I was not terribly impressed. I get the impression that Sobelman’s is a hot spot for Marquette students. The establishment has the atmosphere of a standard sports bar with an almost Mexican sort of feel. I had the Loser Burger which was tasty but by no means an incredible burger. The patties are thin and not cooked to order and the seasoning is just okay. The cheese curd appetizers were definitely good, and although I did not imbibe the drink specials looked pretty good as well. I would return here for game day or a boozy brunch, but I don’t think I would come back for just any lunch. If you’re looking for a hometown-ey sports bar or a cheap meal, this could be your place.

Tucked away on Marquette’s campus, this little gold mine had the best cheese burger around. Yeah, they have all of these specialty burgers but I don’t care for those. The fries are ok, but, I truly believe that it’s the bun that makes these burgers so great.

Descriptive phrase: college burger place. Five of us stopped in at Sobelman’s on Marquette’s campus because their Valley location was too packed. We got a seat right away here. The crowd could not be more different: from townie families to pizza-face 18 year-olds. We got carded for the first time in recent memory because they must rarely get of-age people in. The space is nothing notable; sports pub with uncomfortable seating(indoor picnic tables?). Our server was very nice, and the $ 5 pitchers of Miller Lite were a good deal. I got to have my burger FOFREE because it was my birthday. I was unimpressed last time with the Sobelman, so I tried their Loser. The Loser had much more taste, but I still think the patty was mediocre in cooking and seasoning. I got the fries to go with it, as I found they skimp on the tater tots. A fine, greasy, quick, free birthday dinner.

This place has become a regular stop on our visits to Marquette. Besides paying a boatload of cash for Son #1’s tuition, I am doling out lots of cash here. It’s walking distance from the dorms and the food is good. This is your typical college hangout, noisy and good food for not too much money. On weekends when parents are on campus, there can be a line to get in. The burgers are great. I’ve had the veggie and turkey burger and they aren’t dried out like other places. Son #1 has eaten their double and triple and never put on that freshman 15! Service here is pretty fast as they usually want to turn over the tables quickly unless you go at a slow time. My only beef with this place is that you can’t buy a gift card online, so I have to remember to get one when I am there. Usually I have a beverage or two with my meal, so my memory can get kind of flakey!

Four of us dined for dinner here Tuesday May 20th. Started out with wings and motz sticks and continued to order their Milwaukee Famous Burgers. The burgers were very good and the watiress was very nice. Would be a four star place, but had to take 1 star away for being«Sold Out» of Bonless Wings on a Tuesday(when school was out of session) at 5pm. I know you can sell out on a busy weekend, so if this was a Sunday or Monday I could understand it, but by Tuesday all inventory should be replinished.

Another lunch delivered by Jimmy John’s? No, I want something different today. My customer said that Sobelman’s is one of the best burgers in the city and since I had a rental car for a change, we opted to pile into it and head here for lunch. A little after school sessions ended, so it wasn’t especially busy. So when you come to a place called Sobelman’s and they have a burger on the menu called«The Sobelman», what are you supposed to have? The Sobelman, of course. Three kinds of cheese, bacon, fried onions and diced jalapenos. Silly me, I had forgotten when it arrived that there were jalapenos on there. I thought that it was pickle relish so I didn’t even it out. So one bite… WHEW! Still, it was delish. Fries were excellent and crispy. Drinks were refilled quickly. A great burger. So great in fact, that they have the URL«milwaukeesbestburgers.com». And yes, so far, they do. #2700!
