Well, when you post your hours for delivery as 9:00 and you call at 8:20 and get told sorry we don’t delivery anymore, I’m not too impressed. Being new to the bayshore area I would have loved to try your food as it would be a common thing for me to order a few times a month but seeing you don’t comply with what you state I highly doubt the service or food would be anything special.

We went to Royal Garden for their Saturday evening buffet. We were told to sit wherever we would like. We waited a long time with no waitress stopping by to take our order. We were having the buffet, so we went and filled our plates. It was quite a while before the waitress stopped by to ask us about drinks. We got our tea in a timely manner. We found the food to be barely warm. The place started to become very busy, phones ringing and people standing in the doorway. Took forever to get someone to process our check. Not enough staff to accommodate the number of people that showed up. Won’t be back. Carry out was always fast and hot, so we were disappointed when we dined in.

The food is always fresh and delicious. I have been going to their lunch buffet for years and it is always a pleasant experience. I work in the area so it is a quick meal for a decent price. The owner is always friendly and remembers who you are. The food and the service keep me coming back.

I have been here several times now for lunch. I had the buffet each time. This place is your standard Chinese restaurant with you typical décor and menu. Nothng fancy just good consistant food. The food is good but not great. It is alway very consistant which to me is very important. I want to know what I am getting every time. The buffet is small but it has enough variety that if you like all the standard favorites like Gereral Tsao’s chicken, egg foo young, sweet and sour chicken to name a few you will find something good to eat here. The service is good and they seem to never run out of an item on the buffet table. The price is very reasonable as well so for lunch you cannot go wrong if you have a taste for this type of food. They seem to do a good carry out amount of business as well. I would suspect that the rest of the menu is pretty good as well as it is fairly extensive. I will be back.

I hadn’t eaten here before, but ordered delivery for the first time about a week ago. The delivery person was very nice, and the food looked and tasted great! However, I got violently ill that evening in the middle of the night. I had sweet and sour chicken, which seemed like a pretty safe bet to me. In the spirit of fairness, my sister ordered a different entrée, and was perfectly fine. Gotta say my experience completely turned me off of going there again, unfortunately.

I love this place! We’ve been ordering in from here for years and not a thing has changed. They’re great for groups, and always on time with the estimations. The food is beyond excellent, and the portions are spectacular. Everything is very fresh and has an authentic taste. The only knock I would have is that on really busy nights they tend to shut their phone off instead of telling people the food will take a while longer.

I had a horrible experience again. This time I vowed not to return as I signed my credit card slip and said«good bye» to the shrewd owner. I was there for the lunch buffet with my 1.5 year old son. The food is mediocre for a Chinese restaurant. We never waste food. The service is okay. You can’t expect exceptional service and food at a $ 8.95 buffet. I asked for two waters without ice and I got one water glass with ice. No biggie. My server gave me the bill and there was $ 2.95 charge that I wasn’t sure about. I asked my server about the charge and she told me to ask the boss lady. I asked the boss lady and she said it was for my 1.5 year old son. I told her politely that I wasn’t charge this before in the past and asked why today. Her response was I must have forgotten to charge you in the past. In that case, you forgot 3 times. My comment was I’ve never been to a buffet restaurant where kids under 2 years old were charged. I guess her business is slow and she needs it the $ 3. That’s bad business. Royal Gardens was convenient and fast for us. The boss lady should hire someone to run the cashier who is a gracious host and appreciates customers because after all we keep their doors open.

A few days ago, my wife and I were in the Milwaukee area visiting our daughter. Since both Mrs B and Mr B have birthdates in August, the little miser«volunteered» to take us out for lunch. This way, she would only have to pop for a dinner once a year. Ah, the apple does not fall far from the tree! The Royal Garden is a nice little family restaurant tucked into a strip center next to Bayshore. It is not a fancy place, and the décor is generic, with a few Chinese style posters and tchotchkes that could be picked up at any Chinese souvenir shops in any large city. Being a Saturday, they did not offer their buffet, so we ordered off their lunch menu. I had a chicken almond meal, the wife had a seafood dish, and I don’t remember what our little tightwad ordered. The food was served just a few minutes after we ordered, and the order size was just about right for a single sitting. The owners are very gracious and friendly, and I would recommend visiting the Royal Garden for a simple, but adequate lunch.

I really like this little lunch buffet. I started going to the lunch buffet 6 years ago when I worked in the area. I went probably once a month for a couple years, then left that job so I stopped going because it wasn’t convenient. I decided to go back today, and to my surprise, literally nothing had changed in the few years time. Hooray! It’s not a huge buffet, but it’s only $ 8.45 so I wouldn’t expect something huge. There’s definitely enough selection for me, though. A couple soups, some sauces, white and fried rice, eggrolls, crab rangoon, fried boneless white meat chicken pieces in batter, singapore noodles, twice cooked pork, garlic chicken, a veggie stir fry, sesame chicken, egg foo young, fried chicken wings, and my favorite, beef with green beans. Plus great little almond cookies. My typical plate is loaded with crab rangoon, fried chicken, and a ton of the beef with green beans. They deep fry the green beans as most Chinese restaurants do, so they get the lovely wrinkly skin. Then stir fry them with beef in a dark brown sauce(likely oyster and soy based). The dish is so good I ended up making a similar dish at home when I needed my fix. The fried things are always still crunchy and not soggy, including the chicken breast pieces fried in a sweetish batter. That’s not an easy feat on a buffet. Everything is always being refilled or refreshed by the staff. They take dirty plates away from your table quickly and refill your water fast as well. No, it’s not amazing authentic Chinese cuisine, but it’s a great little Chinese-American buffet that’s thankfully nothing like those«Chinese buffet» mega restaurants that are also mega nasty. Plus the woman who you pay at the counter(I assume owner, she’s older and English is not her first language) is adorable and knows everyone that comes in. She used to recognize me all the time when I was a regular. Nice lady!

First and Last time visit for me! Decided to try this place dinner and to say I was disappointed would be an understatement. I did not realize there would be peanuts all over my food order since that was not indicated in the description on the menu and so I told the waitress that I would need to order something else. The waitress was not the problem. She politely took the food away and brought me back out a menu. She explained to the owner that I requested to order something else. The owner came over and wanted to know«what’s the problem»(her exact words). When I explained to her that I did not care to eat something covered with peanuts she scolded me about how that particular dish was served with peanuts everywhere in Milwaukee. I apologized to her hoping to avoid any hurt feelings, for causing any inconvenience but explained to her that I didn’t know about the peanuts because the menu didn’t state that. She again scolded me, saying that I needed to ask more questions and walked away I then asked why my side of fried rice was so large in comparison to my friend’s. And the waitress stated that she placed a full order of rice not a side order because all menu items only come with white rice. Again, this was news to me because the menu does NOT state this. I told the waitress that perhaps we miscommunicated and that I only wanted a side order of rice with my meal and had never intended to order two meals for myself. The owner came back to my table to scold me some more about asking questions. When I stated that I didn’t like the way I was being treated and talked to and that this was not a good impression for a FIRSTTIME customer the owner then began to yell about how they«weren’t mean there:(again her exact words). I don’t even know why I continued to engage in conversation with this woman but I was trying to give her the benefit of the doubt and again reiterated that I was a NEW customer to her establishment. However, the she continued to scold me and go off on a tangent. When she stated something about how they speak English and they are not Spanish speakers, attempting to insult me based off of my appearance, I decided it was definitely time to go. No I did not get a box and no I did not pay for what I ordered. NOONE should be talked to or treated like that. I don’t care if the food is good or not, honestly I will never know. But no apology in the world could get me to give that place a second thought.

We have come here for a few years. Mainly for the lunch buffet it is slightly above average but some elements of it are very tasty.

I’ve been ordering from Royal Garden for years, and it is one of the only places I’ve known that does cold sesame noodles right. Located off of Silver Spring, and right to the Bayshore Town Center, it’s conveniently right in delivery range of most of the north Milwaukee area. The service is fast, and while the atmosphere tends to lean towards cookie cutter chinese, the friendly staff and quality of food more than makes up for this. What really shines through though, is anything with their beef. It’s always perfectly cooked, and never overly oily/greasy, and their portion is always appropriate to whatever sides/ingredients are made with it. If you’re looking for a nearby place that will deliver to you fast and accurate, give this a shot, it goes great with a side of Netflix.

Decided to order out with my co-workers tonight. I initially asked for the Dragon & Phoenix but was told they where out of the lobster. I settled on half of the item by ordering the General Tsos Chicken. Our order was for delivery and when I pulled my chicken out of the paper bag it was a mess. They put the chicken loaded with sauce just in a paper carton and threw it in an untied plastic bag. While they gave a generous portion of tasty meat their packaging was sloppy. Holding onto my bag of food I was reminded more of purchasing aquarium fish from a pet store than getting ready to enjoy a meal.

They have the best fried rice on the Northshore and great carry out. They also have a very good lunch buffet and it is reasonably priced. They also have great parking and it is easily accessible.

Let’s get one thing straight: I didn’t go to Royal Garden for high quality authentic Chinese. I went because I wanted Americanized Chinese comfort food and it’s near my house. But this place doesn’t even meet that challenge. The lo mein tastes like celery and nothing else. The Mu Shu pork is too sweet with no bite or salt. The wonton soup is filled with mushy lettuce and lacks flavor. I won’t go back, no matter how much comfort I need.

Came here for a dinner on a quiet Monday night. The menu is very generic, nothing really stood out as special. We had the Sesame Chicken, Dragon & Phoenix, and a plate of the BBQ fried rice. The quality of the food was darn good, right on par with Emperor of China. The sauces were very flavorful and the chicken was cooked to perfection, crispy outside and moist inside. Service was just OK but the owner was nice. I would definitely come here again.

I’ve lived in the neighborhood and am a Royal Garden regular for the last 10 years. It’s basically very good Chinese food owned by good people… hence why I’m a regular… The Red Cooked Duck is one of my favorite meals on the planet… I’m not sure how it’s seasoned or where the ducks come from, but it’s special and the best I’ve tasted anywhere(including China). My Chinese wife agrees.

The food’s pretty decent. I’ve been there for the lunch buffet during the week and felt like the food wasn’t doused in MSG, but that each had a distinct taste, which was nice.(sometimes all the food in a chinese buffet tastes the same after they’ve been fried, but it wasn’t like that here.) I did not like the fried rice, though. It had no taste. I’d just eat steamed rice here. I’ve gone back, since I like the clean food. But I’m very picky with my stars, so this is just a 3. I’d give it 3.5 if it was an option. the owner seems to like to ask personal questions — what do you do, etc. Seems invasive but I think she’s trying to make you into a repeat customer. She was talking with other customers and calling them by name, asking about their life, etc. Gave me a small town feeling. If offended, just ignore her. Otherwise, just play along. *grin* Our server was pretty good with the drink, though it was a busy afternoon. Not all servers are the same, it seems.

I had recently returned to Milwaukee after having been gone for quite a while. With an empty refridgerator, I was in search of something to eat. I was in the area of this restaurant, so decided to give it a try. I walked in and grabbed a menu and was a bit disappionted to see that it was the typical EXTREMELY Americanized menu, the kind that you might expect to see at Wongs Wok(nothing against Wongs Wok because I’m a fan). But I certainly was expecting a bit more from a regular sit-down type of restaurant such as this one. Since I didn’t see anything that jumped out at me, I asked the staff for suggestions. They told me, «I don’t know, it depends what you like.» Fine, I won’t hold that against them. So I ordered shrimp fried rice and pork with black mushrooms. The shrimp were quite mushy, and not the consistency that shrimp should be. The pork with black mushrooms was decent. The flavor of the sauce was good. I probably won’t return because if I want that type of food, I’ll got to Panda Express.
