The unpleasantness of my review mostly stems from price. Their drink menus do not list any mixers, and upon ordering a tall vodka tonic, my wife was charged $ 18, and another $ 9 for a short version. Their rolls seemed reasonably priced, but 2 of our guests were charged extra to have the sauce of their roll on the side! The sushi itself was good, but not spectacular compared to other Milwaukee area sushi places. I would recommend not assuming guests want top shelf liquor unless they specifically ask for it.

Their sushi is top notch, very fresh. We ordered shrimp tempura and beef negimaki as appetizers. Both came out quickly and were delicious. My husband ordered seafood soup which had big chunks of shrimp, scallop, clams and seafood sticks. He wanted another bowl to go. Our son got the house salad and the dressing was packed with ginger. My daughter ordered the Milwaukee, California and Boston rolls. All were great. The rest of us shared golden dream roll, silent scream roll, Mars roll, white torch roll, joys roll and Wauwatosa roll. It was some of the best sushi we have ever had! The service was spot on and very friendly. The prices were very reasonable. We will certainly be going back.

Being from Chicago, I feel like I know sushi! I am a sushi snub. Ginza is phenomenal!!! Their sushi is super fresh and absolutely inexpensive. My wife and I eat there at least once a week sometimes twice for the last 3months. I would recommend it to anyone that’s looking for good quality sushi at a very reasonable pricing.

HIDDENGEM! In a strip mall in Fox Point… delicious, great service, great prices. This is some of the best sushi in Milwaukee… and even better they do very elaborate displays for their larger sushi plates with decorations and lighting. i’t fricken cool! MUSTTRY!

My wife used to go to Ginza in Tosa about 4 years ago and then moved to Bayside. Imagine our excitement when Ginza opened down the street from us. We love their food and incredibly attentive service. We pop in for dinner atleast 3 times a month and have never had a less than spectacular meal. Eternal love is our favorite roll. We are both originally from Chicago where our go to sushi place was mirai in wicker park and Ginza in Bayside can certainly hold its own.

This place is as good as it gets in Milwaukee when it comes to quality of food, friendliness of staff, and all the stuff that matters. I’ve been to every sushi place in the area, and as a whole, Ginza has to be my favorite. Their prices are also very reasonable.

Hm. I was expecting this place to be awesome since it has 5 starts right now. I was even hoping it would become a new go-to spot since we are moving away from our current place, Kyoto in Greenfield. However, I was very disappointed. Went for lunch on a weekday. Service and décor were both great, I like the updates they made to the space. I ordered the sashimi lunch, which was a decent price($ 12 I think). You get 10 pieces of sashimi. My plate had(2) tuna,(2) salmon,(3) snapper,(3) white tuna(escolar), with a bowl of rice. All the pieces except the salmon tasted… off. I can’t put my finger on what it was. But they were also way too cold, I’m talking ice cold. And wet. Like… dripping wet. Idk, but I would rather have my sashimi at a slightly cool temperature and not slimy? Maybe I am a sushi snob? Who knows. But I wont be going back here on my own time.

The north shore is kind of a food desert, but this place is great. I ate in the restaurant with my family and we were one of two tables there. The place was relatively empty but that didn’t bother us too much we are loud people. There is a board that states what was delivered and when, so you know what’s fresh. I think this is awesome, because I’m often skeptical of this. The sushi was awesome. The menu gave us a little chuckle. It’s clear that there is a little language barrier, as the menu says«tuna ta ta» instead of «tuna tar tar» I’m hoping this place catches on and makes it!

Quick duck in for a to-go order. Clean, Friendly, Lunch Specials… Ordered a bunch. Gyoza was amazing. Miso soup was great. Spicy Tuna was above average… The real knock out was some great soba noodles. Just excellent, light, delicate flavor with tender beef and vegetables. Very Happy!

Service? 6⁄5! Aesthetics? 7⁄5! Unfortunately, the food was average… Don’t get me wrong. It was tasty, but I just feel like the food didn’t live up to how it appeared. I got the sashimi deluxe and crazy tuna to see how fresh the fish was and how well they make the rolls. For the sashimi, it looked beautiful when it came out.(Definitely a goto order when you’re on a date!) however I’m not sure if I agree with how it’s served. It came out on a bucket of ice to «sustain» the freshness, but soon, I felt like I was eating fish out of a refrigerator because the fish got colder than it needs to be. So instead of making it taste fresh, it did the opposite effect. The initial freshness was average and not below the standard. As for the sushi, I can’t say that I enjoyed it very much. There was too much rice and it was packed too tight. It was kinda hard to swallow. Because of the service and the aesthetics, I’d give it a 4! Also, it’ll be hard to find a sushi restaurant like this in the area. Mixed feelings yet a pleasant experience!

What a delightful find! Visiting from Virginia to attend the 2015USA Ultimate College Nationals(Go UVA!). Rainy Sunday afternoon, need some lunch, Unilocaled and found this place. Top-notch hospitality, presentation, flavor, and quality. Had the Green Bay Roll and Chicken Yaki Soba – both were excellent. The sushi chefs are artists. Every dish looked fabulous and the taste was what you expect from a good Japanese restaurant; fresh, clear, subtle, and inviting. I wish them well!

Living not far from the restaurant and loving Sushi, I figured that I have to try the place out. Though it’s located in a plaza which might not be the most desirable/attractive place for a restaurant, the place inside is hip, clean and modern — with 2 Sushi bars, music and booths. I ordered the spicy Tuna roll and the pepper tuna roll — My wife had the Alaska roll and the Yam tempura roll — both were excellent and tasted fresh! I ended up going three more times to Ginza and was not disappointed at all! The appetizers are great, especially the beef Negimaki and the Haru Maki(spring rolls). The service is quick and helpful and the food is moderately priced. Strongly recommend trying this place out.

Great new restaurant and pretty décor. I really enjoyed the Japanese music they were playing while we ate. It was dead when we stopped in late on a Sunday. The iced green tea was delicious and super fresh! We ordered yakitori chicken for an app, and it was very tasty and beautifully presented. We also has salads and miso soup that came with our entrees. The salad was amazing! So fresh, with sweet and tangy ginger dressing. The miso soup was good, according to the BF, but personally, I hate the flavor of miso. We ordered tofu teriyaki and a beef dish where the beef was thinly sliced and rolled in scallions. Both dishes were delicious. The beef was fresh and tender. The tofu was silken, tempura fried and then covered with teriyaki sauce. What a delicious combination of flavors and textures. We passed on dessert but noticed they had fried ice cream and fried banana. Both sound amazing, and I really am looking forward to going back to try some sushi. This is a great addition to the area, and the food & service were excellent!

I would give them 5+++ Ginza Japanese Restaurant is a wonderful place. It is all fresh and clean staffed with professionals that wait on you like Joe the gentleman that waited on us. The remodeling that they did is outstanding and we felt really comfortable, there is a small Sushi bar along with a small neat Saki bar on the other wall. Now lets get to the food. I won’t list them all but they were all EXCELENT and precisely prepared with care. For starters we had the Fried Calamari(perfectly done) and Baby Octopus Salad that was outstanding and right on the money along with the Seafood Soup that had 2 scallops, 2 shrimp, 2 small clams and 2 pieces of imitation crab.(don’t turn up your nose it was perfect) Then we moved to The Caterpillar with Eel & cucumber inside topped with avocado, served with eel sauce. Electric Shock with spicy salmon & tempura flakes inside with a variety of colored caviar. The Silent Scream, Calamari Roll, Shrimp Tempura Roll, all just so tasty. Next time we are going to have the Dinosaur Egg with spicy lobster salad covered by sliced avocado and served with the Chef’s spicy sauce along with Beef Teriyaki & Beef Negimaki. In the end the North Shore is lucky to have the Ginza Japanese Restaurant come to them, the food is out standing as well as the service and atmosphere. This is now on my go to list and look forward to enjoying many lunches /dinners with my family and friends here. Get there, get there now… P. S. They do have take out too. Enjoy /Frank

So happy this place opened! We were looking for a sushi place nearby and Ginza popped up. Service was outstanding, so clean, sushi was so good! Prices were perfect. Couldn’t have been better; this is our new go-to for sushi.

Love Ginza! I was ecstatic to hear a Ginza opened up near my work. Their sushi is my absolute favorite in the Milwaukee area. They have a great lunch special with a lot of options. Their fish is so fresh. I love their fun rolls, but if you’re willing to get a California roll, there’s is seriously the BEST California roll I have ever tasted. Their crab seems so much fresher. And they do not skimp out on the avocado. I don’t even know why it’s so good, because it’s one of the most basic rolls! Rolls I love(off the top of my head)… Cali Avo Crunch Spicy Tuna Spicy Salmon Rainbow
