Perhaps you didn’t know this… CWAC is operated by the Wisconsin Women’s Business Initiative Corporation(WWBIC), a nonprofit with an office in Schlitz Park. Their coffee and treats are carefully selected by choosing local businesses. The workers are super friendly too. Definitely get a latte. Our office picks up the ground coffee on a regular basis to brew«in house» and the blend is a favorite among our staff.

Love small owned business that have a «conscious». The bakery is all from local bakeries and they even had small snack size bags of popcorn from Goody Gourmet!

I find the staff here friendly and helpful. The lattes and cappuccinos are up to snuff. And even if it is a free/fair trade setup, the prices are about at Starbucks prices. The location is kind of unlucky, as you really have to know this place is there to ever go to it. They are lucky my company’s coffee is a set above bildge water, so I will spend a little extra for some decent Java when I needed it.

Nice little set up, the bakery items are limited but usually delicious. The chocolate muffin with cherry inside is amazing. Definitely disappointed with the strawberry smoothie though. I guess maybe everyones definition of smoothie is different but this was basically just some store bought strawberry juice mixed with ice. My initial sadness was made worse by the fact that she overcharged me a dollar. Granted she gave me a dollar back, but when there are so few items on your menu, you shouldn’t screw that up. Who knows how many others have been overcharged as well.

The staff is most impressive, and I love the socially conscious focus of the operation. Oh, and the coffee is awesome too — try the Guatamalan with a ginger white chocolate scone. I’m drooling as I write.
