WHY? I don’t get who these bartenders think they are. I’m from Bay View, I’m not new to the bar scene here. I’ve been to B & C before, and got treated like a leper by the bartenders, and decided I’d never go back. All my local Bay View friends have said the same. Unfortunately, last night I had no choice, an old friend was in town I wanted to see, and that’s where she was. We order expensive drinks, tip well, are always respectful… But the bartenders don’t want to serve you, and when they do they make you feel like you just slapped their mother. And when you thank them, they roll their eyes or laugh. I don’t get it. Is this Boone & Crockett’s thing? Jerk bum bartenders? I thought it was just me, but everyone I talk to says the same. If you’re into being treated like an ass, then this is your place. Me? I’ll take my money someplace else.

This is easily my favorite bar in Milwaukee. I wish they had a little more interior seating… but their outside patio is usually heated outside during the winter. Best old fashioned in the OLDFASHIONED capitol of the world. Try the Trinidad Sour, you won’t be disappointed.

Boone & Crockett has friendly staff and well informed bartenders. I have enjoyed this bar each time I’ve visited. This past visit my friend I had the Estelle Getty cocktail. If you’re into scotch this is the drink to get! The atmosphere is somewhat hip and welcoming. In the summertime this is also a great spot for food trucks and mingling outdoors in the garden.

Don’t go dressed nice. I had just gotten finished with a funeral service and time with family. I was still in my suit with my friend, the bartenders completely ignored us. Even making eye contact with me, they served other patrons and never even spoke to us. After 5 – 6 minutes we left. Moral of the story don’t go dressed in a suit, they won’t serve you.

Great addition to Milwaukee’s bar scene. Fast, friendly service. Comfortable seating. Cozy vibe. I was there on a Monday, so it wasn’t crowded. Great place to hang with the family.

Boone & Crockett holds a special place in my heart. A stellar bar with stellar service and even better drinks. I would suggest a barrel aged old fashioned(brandy sweet). They are so good. The bartenders here really know what they are doing though so I’m sure you can’t really go wrong. Super cool vibe — think beards, plaid shirts and animal mounts on the walls. A cozy place to meet friends or spend an evening. One thing I would note is that it’s a bar of the long skinny variety so when it’s busy it gets a little tough to get through, not a big deal though! Just something to note.

This place was recommended from a restaurant for some drinks. Glad we went there. It was walking distance & awesome. It was happy hour! $ 5 for all house drinks. I forgot what my drink was called. It was a heavily spiced drink. Supposedly very popular with the guests. I liked it a lot. It reminded me of the holidays for some reason with all the spices. I tasted a lot of anise flavor.(Edit: TRINIDADSOUR!) The bartender was awesome. She was very knowledgeable & helpful. Also, after she found out we weren’t from around there, she told us about the cool spots in Milwaukee to go to so thanks! :) It was nice to just go to the back & chill with our drinks. Found out that they were approved to get a food truck in the back of the bar. They’re having it made right now & then brought over & then they will launch food too! So make sure to check it out! I know I will def stop by when I’m in Milwaukee again!

My cousin and I stopped in for a couple of happy hour drinks yesterday on a friend’s recommendation. First of all, I will say that the atmosphere of the bar is very cute, the drinks we had were excellent as well. The service was far from what you would expect at such a well put together bar. We asked if there was a happy hour. The bartender replied that it ran until 7pm and pointed at the cocktail list. After that, we asked if there were any particular house drinks he could recommend. He responded they were all house drinks.(Not really an answer or a recommendation sir). My cousin was interested in a drink containing campari. He has never had that particular liquor(and it’s quite an acquired taste), so I asked if he could have a small taste of the liquor. The bartender responded, ‘that’s called a shot, and I have to charge you for it.’ I apologized and said we would be happy to pay for the shot. Throughout our entire time sitting at the bar getting information from the bartender was the equivalent of getting water from a stone. He didn’t smile once or make us feel welcome in any way. Which is really too bad, because the bar has a lot of potential to be great. The staff should match the effort they have put into everything else.

You know I must confess. Even I have fallen for the charm of this place. Yes, its pretty hipster for my tastes but honestly it was done so tastefully you almost dont even notice. *Deer mounts gave it away*. Plus the pirate flag in the back patio really come on who doesnt like pirates? My favorite feature though is the seating, lovely beat up couch(thats surprisingly comfortable) by the gorgeous stained glass window really adds somethin somethin to the place. Plus booth style seating on the side? yeah im a fan i can see hanging out with my crew enjoying some brews here. Pretty decent happy hour i noticed not the best in town but pretty decent plus if your looking for a cool atmosphere. I will be back soon too bad its so far from my normal stomping grounds or I bet it would be sooner rather than later.

Boone & Crockett is a pretty cool place for drinks. There’s a lot to gander at with all of the interesting décor that surrounds you. They have unique hoses that hang at the bar which are for old fashioned mixes, one is brandy — the other whiskey. I really appreciate the assortment of drink options at Boone & Crockett. Happy hour is a great time to get there so that you can get $ 5 house drinks. I tried the one that had Steigl Radler and Compari — it was SOSO good but you must like grapefruit flavor. I highly recommend that one. My apologies for not know the exact happy hour, but I was in on a Thursday night before 7 and it was happy hour drinks!

Never have I been more frustrated about how poorly my phone’s camera performs in low light. It wasn’t even worth trying to take any pictures, but maybe it was better that way. This place is so up my alley that I’m kicking myself for waiting so long to try it. I even poked my head inside last BVGN, but was summoned away by friends. Those were no friends of mine! From its chandeliers to its animal heads, this is my kind of bar. A little vintage, a little funky, all crafty. I tried the Old Fashioned, of course… how could anyone resist those charming taps coming down from casks suspended above the bar?(Brandy, sweet, if you were wondering.) It was unsurprisingly fabulous, but I’m going to swim against the current(can’t be tamed) and say the real winner of the night for me was the Pink Grapefruit Collins. Incredibly clean and refreshing… don’t skip this one.

Dark, intimate little bar. The noise level is a little surprising for how intimate it is but not a problem. Love the décor! Similar to Camp Bar but I feel it’s much more inviting to us 30 and 40 something’s. Daily specials are awesome. Will be back to try those out!

I’ve been venturing out into Bayview more frequently, and Boone & Crockett is one of my favorite recent discoveries. I live on the East Side and I don’t have a car(and it’s winter, so waiting for the bus is a drag), but I’ve been begging my automobile-owning friends to take me back. I’m traditionally a beer drinker, but this place makes me want to delve into other methods of boozin’ it up. I’m very reluctant to purchase cocktails myself(largely due to the prices), so I sipped from a few of my friends’ drinks. I wasn’t disappointed, and I can say with certainty that when I head back tonight I’ll be buying my own. I don’t remember the name of my favorite drink, but it was relatively small and had walnuts in it. The ambiance is like a less pretentious Hotel Foster, but I can’t put my finger on why. I like that it’s smaller and much more intimate. I like huddling up with a bunch of friends in the booth furthest to the back and people-watching the rest of the bar. Bartenders were nice(and cute). Giving it a four instead of a five because I’m cheap and it’s overtly hipster. But a four is still good.

Descriptive phrase: best Old Fashioned in town. I’m digging Boone & Crockett, hard. Intimate, dark, cozy; this place is where grown-up hipsters go to knock a few back, and I love it. The bartenders are great and knowledgeable, and they serve their Old Fashioneds aged from casks on the ceiling. But that ain’t just to make you think they’re worth it: I have yet to find a better Old Fashioned than their brandy sweet in this city. It’s my new measuring stick. Mmmm gimme dat.

1. Their 4−7p and 9-Cl specials are pretty dang awesome. See pic for more details. 2. It feels right in here. Not stuffy, not divey, just right. 3. You can get a Hamm’s. 4. I had an old fashioned and while mixed well, I was fairly disappointed at the bright red maraschino cherry vs the craft cherry I’ve come to expect and savor. 5. Can I say I wanted more? I wanted to have a hard time choosing a cocktail, but nothing on the menu was making me feel like I HAD to have it. In the end my hubs got the northender(on special) and it was fab. A solid spot, but maybe with a bit more to fill my creative cocktail desires and maybe bar snacks(just imagine a tiny bowl of gardettos… Mmmmmm) and Id be tossing a 5 in their direction.

This place is cocktail central. Handcrafted, well thought out, often amazing beverages. And they have a pretty damn great beer selection strangely. But be prepared to wait awhile for a drink, because, see above, hand crafted. They put a great deal of effort and ingredients into their drinks. Patio that is rumored to be dog friendly, bit I have yet to bring my babies out. Heaters outside on the patio, lots of outdoor seating. Vegans beware, there are a lot of dead animals on the wall.

So overall, this place has it going on. It reminded me of 67 orange st in new york. Small, speakeasy-ish with a craft cocktail emphasis. Atmosphere: as(many) others have pointed out, its sorta 1890s maybe Kentucky prohibition vaguely Victorian and a smidge confederate leaning hunting lodge. If that doesn’t make any sense to you, it didn’t to me either but somehow sort of worked and I kind of liked it. Drinks: they appear to change and were pricey($ 10+) & a tad on the small side but(imo) really good.(However, if you are used to sweet drinks you might be disappointed.) Service: fine, hipster and bearded up & slightly disaffected as expected but that’s the schtick-I get it, The recommendation of a barrel-aged negroni was completely spot on. Best negroni I ever had. Just wish it would’ve been explained so I didn’t feel more blond than usual. Music: sorry, I’m that chick. I don’t like the black keyes or dueling banjos music or whoever is popular in that genre these days. I want my kesha-pitbull-top 40-dance-old school hip hop playing when I’m out for the night. Judge away, but that’s me and I guess it might not work with the décor. But go and check this place out if you haven’t already.

I LOVETHISPLACE! The same people who own B&C also own Hotel Foster, which is my favorite bar on the East Side, so I had high expectations for B&C. My expectations were met in every way. On Friday nights, my favorite bartender, Bill, works, and he’s very good and knowledgeable about the drink list. The décor, as other reviewers have noted, is fantastic. It’s like the swank of the Wild Wild West meets the class of the 1920s. It’s perfectly executed, and extremely comfortable. Just being there is a treat! Bars like B&C, Palomino, and Blackbird are what make me what to move to Bay View. Can’t wait to go back to B&C! BTW — the sazerac is SOGOOD!
