Why did this 5 star restaurant close? Just drove up from Atlanta to eat at an old haunt before the concert and its closed!!! Noooo! So sad.

The reason they did not score higher… the place smells like burning oil when you walk in. We ordered a beautiful cab from Argentina which we got to taste first hence the name SIP. The wine was perfect. Perfect for the evening of the following: We sat at the end of the bar watching the cook at the gas stove. He finally warmed up to us after my husband graced him with his Los Angeles version of body shop spanish. We started with tuna tartar. It was fresh light and had a good amount of tuna. Love the fried wonton that accompanies the tartar. Then on with the kobe sliders. Perfect. Ordered medium rare and they were cooked perfectly. The pink almost raw middle was warm. The bun is like a buttery pancake. So good. Then we decided to SIP(get it) our remainder of wine with the truffle oil chips. Okay they were like crack… can’t stop eating them. The manager watching the food line, he was not too friendly and needed to chill out a bit. Seemed wayyy up tight. Our waiter«Buddy» was attentive and was a great server. The place needs a better hood fan to suck up all the smoke and smell from the bar side cooking. That ruins the atmosphere. We Had A Gift Card however a bottle of wine 3 tapas and a relaxing evening at the bar is worth the $ 72. We will go back.

Wow the food sure has gone downhill. I ordered many uninspiring tapas. But the biggest disappointment was the skirt steak. It was very tough and should have been sliced against the grain. Additionally, it was served with yucca logs. Not the most appetizing of sides. The chef really should focus on keeping it simple. I remember when Sip was so busy you couldn’t get a seat. If they don’t get the food right, I don’t think they will be in business much longer.

Went to Sip last night after a 5K for the first time. Wow, was I impressed. The hostess was so friendly, and our waitress was even better. Shocked to hear people had bad service! We had a couple glasses of wine, then the macaroni and cheese and kobe sliders. It was all so good! Loved everything about the place. My husband just asked if we were going back tonight. This is definitely our new favorite place.

My wife and I went for appetizers and wine tonight. The service and food were both fantastic. We tried about five different plates and loved them all. My wife has a wheat allergy and was ecstatic to find an extensive selection of gluten free items. The mozzarella and jam with gluten free bread was the best. I enjoyed their pork tacos and their scallops. Highly recommend this for a night out with friends.

After a long hiatus, I finally returned to Sip this past weekend with a large party of 14 on Saturday night. I called ahead to see if they could accommodate our group, especially after 8pm and surprisingly they had plenty of room. Not busy at all, which made me wonder… The server was pleasant and willing to split checks across the table. However at the end, some of the tabs were not correct and it became a little messy. I only ordered one plate off the menu, the scallops, but they were disappointing! My girlfriend shared her order of the pork tacos and they were fantastic! It’s not likely that I’ll go back anytime soon, considering all the other new places popping up around Roswell.

Went to dinner there tonight for the first time. Everything was excellent. Tried a few wines, had a couple glasses and it was excellent! Food wise, just as awesome. Tuna tar tat, garlic bread, cheese and meet, sliders, and the ice cream was delicious! This place is now in my top 5 for the area! Also, Buddy, our waiter, great guy and server, definitely request him!

Read the negative reviews to see what morons they are. Our experience, tasting and Tapas were excellent! Top notch for the crabapple area. We loved: Buratta in a jar Kobe sliders Beet salad Papa Fritas Affinity cab and Justin blend Cant go wrong with sip for a couple or foursome. Leave the kids at home.

Great concept Some nice wines Delicate and beaming service Food can be delicious but can be bland as well depending on the dishes… This is unfortunately a hit-or-miss :-( Overall: a nice place to hang out. I will go back

My husband found this little place and thought I would love it, he wasn’t wrong. We arrived at 4:30pm, not knowing they didn’t open/start serving until 5:30, we were seated regardless and the chefs said they would cook if we wished to order anything. We tried many wines and found a few bottles to bring home with us today. The food was delicious, I recommend the smoked salmon stuffed with feta and cream cheese. The key lime pie was the perfect desert. Sip really exceeded my expectations, they went out of their way to ensure we enjoyed our afternoon. I will definately be going back sometime soon!

Last night a friend and I hit Sip like little oinkers ready to get our taste ON! We ordered the tuna tartare – delicious, the shrimp and grits – out of this world!, fried avocado – interesting, kobe beef sliders – YUM!, and the lobster mac and cheese – better than a dessert. Catch my drift here? NOTHING disappointed, not even the friendly waiter … I wish I could remember his name! And the wines were great to taste. More restaurants should have a «sip» on their menu as an option to a full glass. We can’t wait to go back!

EXCELLENT. One of the best places in Alpharetta –and definitely at the very top of my list. Go for the lamb belly, it is truly amazing… best piece of meat I’ve had in my mouth… in the last 2 hours, anyway ;)…tuna tartare is also great… but I digress — it was all fantastic!

I was there in February and had an absolute lovely evening. We were there about four hours, had a great table, great server, calm and relaxing yet eclectic atmosphere… and the tapas were fab! I imagine we ordered one of every item on the menu! Everything was tasty and cooked to perfection. It was a fun time– no kids at all, but it was a weekday evening. Cant wait to go back soon!

On a Tuesday night at 6:30, the place was only moderately busy, so it was relatively quiet, service was good not great, but food & wine were a notch above our expectations. We started with the Mezze plate which is pita and 3 spreads(hummus, eggplant and red pepper). All were good, but the eggplant was a standout. Next came Carnitas(BBQ pork) Tacos, another standout. This was followed by their fried potatoes(homemade thick chips) and Kobe beef sliders. The chips were wonderful and the sliders were thick, cooked to perfection and delicious. We will be back… soon!

SIP is a small restaurant in Milton(north Alpharetta). They offer a great selection of wines and tapas. You can find anything from bone marrow to a carnitas taco. I’ve tried the hummus plate and the cheese plate and both were wonderful.(I also tried the bone marrow, it wasn’t as bad as I imagined. It tasted like well flavored mushy meat. I know this is trending in a few restaurants, but it’s not really my cup of tea.) The service is great and the atmosphere is comfortable.(not dive bar comfortable, more like a place where you can grab good food and relax with a glass of wine) A fun place to get dressed up for a date or a girls night out.

Get the tuna tartare, You will not be disappointed. They really need to remove the duck confit salad from the menu, it wasn’t even medicore, but kind of gross. The rock shrimp was good as well. This can be a fun place for an outing, but I think they need to revise their menu a bit. $$ is a tad high for the food, but overall good experience.

I love Sip! I love tapas places, for one, and there aren’t that many around. I would say the prices are a little high, but the food is very good, I’d say it’s one of the top tapas places I’ve been to in Atlanta. The tables are a bit cramped, but the service is good. I do love the tuna tartar wasabi sauce, but sometimes they put too much soy in it. The scallops are divine. I can’t say I’ve eaten anything bad there. It’s a great date place!

Sip is within walking distance to my place, yet I have only been 3 – 4 times since I moved here. I love the concept, but the execution is not what it could be. I still like it, anything that is not a chain and willing to try a new concept will always get my support, but it doesn’t make it into my rotation of places I frequent as often as I should considering the proximity. The food is above average, the BBQ Pork Tacos are the best thing on the menu and the best dish in the area, they are amazing. I go there just to get them, I have never not ordered them. The Smoked Chicken Stuffed Poblano is a wonderful mess to tear apart and enjoy. The only two things that I have had that I wish were a little bit better were the Meze Platter. The hummus is bland, it needs some spice, with so much wonderful hummus out there, I was hoping for a little more. The other is the Duck Quesadilla, it sounds amazing with gouda and apricot habanero salsa, but it still comes off as a little bland. I want to stress though, the food overall is very good for here or in the city. Most of the dishes are great and the right size for Tapas. The wine list is nice and they have 3 – 4 different pour options which is more work that it needs to be. Charging for a sip is tacky. If it is by the glass, I have never had a waiter not a offer a free to sip to see if I like it. So instead of different levels of wine in my glass, how about on the rare occasion, a free sip, a glass or the bottle. They spilt the building into a wine/tasting area which is rarely full, to a small dining room that is packed. I wish they would reduce the size of the tasting area and expand the dining area to give everyone a little more room. The food warrants it and the walls with bottles of wine would be a great backdrop for dining. To Recap: The Good: Great to have a non-chain so close. The wine list is interesting and the food is some of the best in the area. Plus Tapas is always fun! The Bad: The layout, it is cramped even when the place is half full. The pricing is a little high and the different charges for different amounts of wine in the glass just doesn’t work for me. The Band This Restaurant Most Resembles: Pete Yorn. A few things to completely crush on and order over and over, but the whole album leaves you feeling like it could be more, even though it makes you happy.
