The line is kind of long(20 ish minutes) on a Saturday morning. The 3rd person in our party wasn’t present so we couldn’t be seated. But once she arrived, they seated us. I ordered the New England breakfast(French toast, two eggs, and ½ bacon ½ sausage). I also ordered a side of home fries and a coffee. The French Toast was alright. I asked for cheese with my eggs and that was really tasty. The home fries were the right amount of salty and were cooked to perfection. They ran out of flavored creamer for the coffees(bummer), but she had some hazelnut coffee left. The flavor was faint but it was bottomless coffee so I enjoyed it. I paid $ 14.50 for the experience. Wasn’t awful at all, but I can’t see myself in a hurry to come back.

Went there with husband and 2 kids on a Sunday about 2:45. Kids got Mac and cheese which was quite good(not Kraft.). I got one of their skillet breakfasts which was decent, nothing great. Husband got Teryaki steak tips which he asked for Med rare but they came as medium. Fries were very good. Prices good. We’d go back if we are in that area, but not worth a special trip.

My family had some time between hockey games one Sunday morning. We’ve driven past this spot so many times and always wondered what it was like; we we not disappointed! We managed to get in right before it got super-crowded and were seated immediately. The service was quick and attentive. The food was served within 10 – 15 minutes after we ordered it and it was fresh and delicious. The pancakes were perfect. The eggs were cooked the way we requested them. We will definitely return for breakfast when we’re in this area again! If you haven’t tried it and have wondered if it’s worth it? Go for it — you won’t be disappointed!!!

Adorable little brunch place. No sign up but the line moved pretty quick, food came quickly. The ??? Breakfast was awesome — crispy potatoes with eggs and cheese. Banana bread French toast was great, and my spouse had their stuffed French toast and liked it. The third adult in our party got the veggie omelet and enjoyed that, the toddler got the French toast. All of us left satisfied.

Favorite breakfast place for above the South Shore and before Boston. Their coffee is delicious. They are efficient and very nice. Their food is the perfect upgrade of diner food. There is always a line when I go,(rare if I do not cook myself) but they serve by party. So a table for two goes to the next party of two in line. They have it down to a science and it works well. Pricing is phenomenal. The hash browns(I find this is important to people) are crispy on the outside and soft on the inside; seasoned well. Perfect if you ask me :).

Took my father here for breakfast when he was in town. The food and service were wonderful! Eggs cooked to order, great potatoes, meat, and toast! Not to mention, plenty of parking! Will definitely go back when I’m craving a good home cooked breakfast!

Newcombs is a nice family restaurant for breakfast. The food is usually delicious, but they do have their bad days occasionally which can be annoying. Service is pleasant for the most part. I was served steak tips once that smelled funny and when I complained, the teenage employee didn’t accommodate me. She literally offered to replace 2TIPS of steak! I barely touched my plate to begin with so my family and I felt slighted. It took a while to finally go back but I was satisfied with my last visit.

The food is delicious, and the staff are always super welcoming. I have been doing takeout a lot recently because the wait can be pretty long on the weekends. Definitely worth a drive to get to!

Love this place! Drove almost 40 minutes from home to bring my boyfriend here for the first time. He was surprised by the long line out the door, but I explained to him how it worked. As soon as they called for a party of two we were in there!(10 – 15 min wait tops). This is one of those hidden gem/mom and pop hole in the wall breakfast places, and perfect for Sunday brunch after church and before sports. The food is so good, they serve you pretty quickly, and the staff is always on point. Needless to say my boyfriend loved it, he practically scraped the plate clean, and is already talking about going back.

This is a good place to get a standard breakfast in the area.

Excellent and very authentic food. Traditional non-fancy diner. Service was excellent. Décor is dated but this is part of the charm.

I’m giving this place 5 stars. I’d say the food is 3.75. I’d say the décor is a 2. I’d say it’s cramped as hell in there and if you have to sit at the table right outside the bathrooms I feel bad for you… but I still give it a 5 overall. There’s something about this place that makes me love it. I stay far away on the weekends when the place is jam packed and the lines are like Space Mountain’s during April break. Monday lunch with the wifey is where it’s at for us. We love the older woman who runs the place. She is awesome. I love the grilled chicken sandwich with fries(gravy on the side). My wife loves the seafood salad sandwich — nothing fancy, made with imitation crab meat — and she loves it. And our daughter loves the kids turkey dinner, Thanksgiving on a plate. There’s an intangible here. Don’t know what it is but I like it.

We were hungry and wanted to try some place new. We put our search terms on Unilocal for brunch, and this place showed a lot of good reviews. Inside this place was like some one’s house and food was served pretty fast. We were really please with the ambiance and the quantity of food. We wish we could order some desserts, but we were too full.

The food is wonderful! I ordered a steak tip Benedict(medium rare) the texture of the steak is just right and they gave me 3 pouched egg, big portion! Love it love it! However, the server name Christine is not very nice. She must have been working for a long day. She doesn’t smile at all… Otherwise it would have been five stars!

We come here regularly, usually Sundays, for breakfast. The food and service is very good, and quick! The portions are good-sized and prices very decent. This is a great place for your no-frills breakfast food!

Great service and atmosphere. The food came out within five minutes of when I ordered despite the fact the restaurant is fully packed. Waitress was very polite, checking in on me and getting me water refills despite the fact I drink like a hippo. The place goes for a southern family breakfast sort of feel and does a good job of achieving it. It has a warm, cozy, mom’s kitchen atmosphere. I got the veggie omelet with spinach. It was not spectacular. The onions were too big so that you would get bites that were too strong with onion. They were also a bit undercooked. I like my onions slightly caramelized. It was also too heavy on the sauce. I’d get it on the side next time.

The food is good for the price you’re paying. It gets really busy during brunch and they really cram you in. Sometimes it’s so busy that you have to wait outside in the cold. There is a roof awning but they should at least provide some side flaps to block some of the wind. My experiences here have generally been okay. However, I went on my birthday last month for brunch and was hoping to just get in and out within an hour and a half but I was there for about 3 hours. The kitchen was backed up so every table had to wait at least an hour to receive their food. Some tables couldn’t even wait and just left. It was ridiculous. All I ordered was eggs, homefries and sausage. It shouldn’t take an hour to fry these things up. By the time I received my food I was starving. All I got from the staff was a cheery apology from the waitress. The manager didn’t even bother to personally apologize to anyone. That speaks volumes to their standard of professionalism. My advice: just don’t plan on coming in if you’re already starving and have nothing else to do with your day.

Really, really unimpressed. Really, REALLY-er shocked by the high number of stars! Beware: my guess is that these reviews are from long time diners. The place has been around for 30 years. Food was mediocre to blagh. Salad and sandwich had flimsy lettuce and was all iceberg lettuce(cheap lettuce with the nutritional value of water). Turkey was crusting on the edges. Everything else was doable but not preferable. Reminds me of a Denny’s or another bad chain. Management is clearly resting on their laurels. Seriously lacking freshness and innovation of any kind. The prices are good though.

A basic breakfast joint. Our server was friendly, our food came out lightening quick even though it was packed, and the food was decent. I ordered a veggie egg white omelet that came with fresh veggies and real eggs. The multigrain toast is a must! The hubby ordered the hash omelet, which sadly, was canned… bleh! Overall, we probably won’t be back. Just because #1 it’s location is to far #2 we would rather try somewhere else

I always loved this place growing up. Though my parents never dared to venture inside, it was a popular breakfast spot among my friends and I. The food is decent and cheap, cheap, cheap. Favorite dishes were the skillet, banana bread French toast, and the Belgian waffle. I returned recently and it was as though I had finally been enlightened. Now, I fully understand why my parents refused to frequent this spot. It is DIRTY. The carpet is full of stains and the dishware is barely clean. Everything about this place just feels like a sticky frathouse. This place certainly needs an upgrade! With all the new spots that have opened in the area such as The Plate, Sweet Life, Abby Park, and Steel&Rye, Newcombs needs to be mindful of it’s appearance.
