Great food. The spices were well balanced, neither bland nor too spicy. I liked the kottu parontha stuff. And the nan was also really good. –1 star because the service is really slow. You literally have to try locking eyes with someone to have them come up to the table.

Excellent food and attentive service. Came on a Sunday for lunch and will definitely return. Good value and presentation of food. We ordered the chicken 65, kaaraikudi pepper chicken, mutton sukka varuval and mutton biriyani. Good portions and everything was on point with the exception of the biriyani, which was bland and a little oily. The kaaraikudi special parrotta was delicious and very fresh. Looking forward to coming back and trying other dishes!

Chicken lollipop very authentic and tasty. Chicken pepper was homely with a spicy kick Parottas were delicious The deserts were very sweet, sugary to be more precise and lacked Taste. The billing option of tipping and signing on a tablet removes the guest feel at a restaurant. Felt like getting off a taxi ! Overall; good food ! average ambiance !

Have been to this place multiple times and they serve really good South Indian food. I love spicy food and this is exactly the place to be. The chicken kothu paratha is what I like the most here! I wish they could make chicken 65 with gravy instead of just deep frying it. Also, some more addition to the menu would be good. Overall a good place to be with nice ambience and good food.

Went to this restaurant for dinner on a weekday and loved almost everything we ordered! This restaurant serves food as Tamil Nadu as it can get. The spice is on the higher side but it was just perfect for us. The Kal Dosai was soft and fluffy and the Egg Biryani was very flavorful. The best part of the whole meal was the Kathirikkai Kara Kuzhambu. The eggplant were succulent and perfectly cooked in a very flavorful gravy. We ate this with plain rice and a special order of ghee. Mmmm, heaven! Good place for vegetarians and meat eaters alike.

Well I haven’t eaten yet and that is because nobody had come to take order. We have been waiting for almost 20 minutes now and the restaurant is not even half full. That shows how much they care about customer service. Fantastic first time experience!

This review is for a catering order. It was my son’s first birthday party and we sought out a few Indian restaurants in the bay area. I spoke to Arun from Karaikudi and he let us come by, taste and pick the dishes we wanted. We did not want the food to be too spicy(I find most dishes from this restaurant to be too spicy for my liking) and he worked with us to make it happen. They custom made a menu for us and did a great job. The food was wonderful, everyone loved it! The portions were generous as well. I’m glad we worked with Arun to place this order. We are totally happy customers after having an awesome party. Will go back to them if we have another event soon.

Very bad service. We arrive and there are plenty of open seats. The host asks for us to wait for 10 minutes. We then get to our table and it is not clean. We can see curry stains on the glass table. We asked for it to be wiped down and they hesitantly cleaned it. Our waiter doesn’t help us for quite some time. When ordering we ask for the chicken biriyani and the waiter says it will be 35 minutes to serve. Overall, very bad experience. We will not be going back here.

Had the masala dosa served hot, it would have been even yummy. Idiyapum is really nice but the coconut milk is very thin. Biryani is good but the egg served with it is not good. However, the overall food is good.

WHEREDO I BEGIN?.. We came here as a second option because the first Indian restaurant we wanted to go to was closed. Upon arriving, we were given attitude by our waiter because we asked for our food to be «Mild». He responded by saying that the food here was«spicy only» and that we should have know that before coming here. We were told that ONLYONEDISH could be prepared mild for us. I asked for yogurt sauce on the side to help cool the spice. It took us 3times of asking politely before they finally brought out the yogurt sauce, ultimately leaving us with cold food by the time our sauce came out. The service was in absolute shambles and made me feel like I was eating in a third world country. Refusal to bring us ICE water(rather than water that was chilled), people sweeping the floors directly next to us while we were eating, and nobody checking on us to see how our food was… ITWASHORRIBLE!!! I would never recommend this place to anybody and I believe it fails every standard of restaurant standards and ethics. The customer does not matter here. I am not sure what really does.

A spicy, flavorful treat for food lovers! A South Indian food joint which serves the Chettinad cuisine and has Vegetarian and non-vegetarian thali and ala-carte foods. The dosa roast and appams tasted well, so did the veg Briyani. The parothas though were slightly disappointing to the palette. Sad were both tea and coffee, absolutely unappealing to the tongue. Mango lassi was good though. The hygiene requires attention. Service definitely can be improved.

This place would have good food if I could actually taste it. Everything was burning spicy that my tongue was flaming, my nose running and my eyes tearing up. The waiter asked us can we handle spicy and we requested less spicy. However when I told the waiter, it’s too spicy, he sorta blamed us for ordering it. Sad experience because I was excited to eat.

Poor service and average food. Surprise to see 4 star rating for this restaurant. This is my first visit and a robotic lady took the orders which lead to a 2 star from me.

Few important information: 1: It’s a Telugu people run Tamil cuisine«named» restaurant, authenticity is thrown out of the window. 2: Typical desi attitude of ignoring customer request when polite and giving in only when a bit of attitude is shown. 3: Luckily they do accept Amex. 4: Prices are 1 – 2 $ above average for below average food. 5: Restaurant looks ok but floor, tables and other seating area are dirty as it can get. Food review: Ceylon parotta — Really good tasting version of a regular bread price is 5 $, one is enough for two average people, gets served piping hot obviously gets 4 stars. Chicken kotthu parotta — Taste is ok but quantity is too less for 11 $ gets served with raita and an oily kurma gets 3 stars. Chicken 65 — Looks and tastes like chicken pakora, way too oily and they use more of baking soda to make it fluffy definitely not worth a try probably just 1 star. Mutton bone Soup — 0 Star EPICFAIL. Mutton Sukka Masala — it’s a generic mutton curry nothing special nothing bad, it’s something that you can make at home without any special preparation gets 2.5 stars. Korigassi Chicken — Don’t be confused by this atrocious naming convention it’s simply chicken in coconut milk but tasted good so 4 stars. Service review: The servers were very good probably college going educated kids understanding the importance of customer service, but the MANAGER or OWNER a lady in shalwar was plain PATHETIC acting as if she’s doing a favor by having customers in the store. Conclusion: Overall food is 2.5 stars considering we did experience some stomach problems later on, management is pathetic, price is on the Higher side &0.5 star more for the hard working server boys.

Kaaraikudi Indian Restaurant is the most recent addition to the bay area’s authentic Indian dine-ins, located at the heart of Milpitas on what was then called the Alviso-Milpitas Road, which is now called Serra Way! I visited the spot on it’s opening day Dec 5th in the evening with the hubby just to grab a light appetizer, seeing the sign«Grand Opening». We were initially surprised to notice the change that the previous Indian Restaurant(Chettinadu Palace) at the very same address is closed now and this new one is already up in a jiffy from nowhere. We had a warm welcome by the crew and was offered a complimentary sweet ‘Payasam’(Indian name) or Vermicelli kheer right after we were seated. It tasted good with just the right sweetness(not too sweet sweet). This place has got bit of everything on their menu, from Vegetarian delights to Chicken/Mutton/Sea food specialities. Our Vegetarian picks, # Appetizer, Gobi 65($ 8) — Not too big serving size and tasted crispy, spicy and flavorful. # Kothu Parotta’s, Egg Kothu Parotta($ 11) — Adequate portion size and tasted YUM! & spicy, served with 2 extra sides(small serving size), vegetable korma and raita. My hubby then went ahead ordering for a cup of Coffee($ 2) from their hot beverage — Good(his words). Quick facts about the spot, — Appreciable service from the staff, all our items were served Hot & Fresh and we din’t wait too long either. — Large seating area, can easily accommodate big groups, may be even up to 16 to 20. — Decent ambience, neat outlook. — Located at the corner of Serra way intersection(just before Calaveras blvd intersection). — Private parking lot can be found at the back of the restaurant. We just paid half of our entire bill, 50% discount on the bill total was offered to all the customers on the 1st day(gleeful chuckle). Feel like I gotta try more! We’l be happy to visit again sometime in the future!
