Cons: 1. Pathetic Dosa, Sambhar n Chutney 2. No Air Conditioning 3. When I was there, there were moths all around. Not sure how many managed to get into me. 4.Ambience is not that great. I generally don’t expect much from such a place, But it was looking promising from outside. 5. All biryanis are not good. Pros: 1. The only worth mentioning food(we all agreed was above average) was the Vijaywada Chicken Biryani. Bottom line: Disappointed

If you want to eat please come 45 minutes before closing. The manager is about to close as soon as possible, he keeps a poker face with fake smile. He doesn’t know how to handle, i am observing him from many times. He is about to clear plates and rush to push the customers out with bill.

No A/C, broken chairs and tables, filthy bathrooms. The A/C I think has been broken for a few months now. And I never saw bathrooms clean. The food at this place is awesome though. Their dosas, biryani, buffet etc are too good. But the place is extremely poorly maintained. I hope owner/manager look at these reviews.

Vijayawada chicken dum biryani was dumb good. Chicken was red. Never been to vijayawada but might go now. My bro’s name is Vijay. Nethili fry was crisp and tasty. The chilli parotta was hot af and crispy af. Spicy too so we chilled out mouths with raita. Service was decent. Guy may or may not have been eyeballing my chick. Also wondering if all indian men have mustaches. Seems mandatory.

Mediocre food. Cauliflower was very spicy. The size of roti and naan is definitely huge, so would suggest to order accordingly.

Just stopped in after a long day of shopping because we love dosas. We were not disappointed. There is a good selection of dosas and they are *huge.* Could have shared four ways. :) We only ordered a dosa each so I cannot speak to the rest of the food, but the Mysore was the right amount of spice and heat. Very tasty. My husband ordered a paneer dosa and enjoyed it, though he liked mine better. Ambience, etc., typical Indian restaurant.

The food is genuinely good. The biriyani is very tasty and has flavor and spice and can hold its own against any in the Bay Area. Their rice was most impressive in flavor. I’d describe the food here as authentic. The dosas are great. The chutneys are very good too. The only problem is that the maitre ‘d is a bit curt which can seem rude sometimes but I’d say the food is worth it :).

Dosa Bawarchi certainly has a few things going for themselves as an LLC. They offer the buffet, they have a good menu, extensive almost, and most dishes are authentic. Hence the 3 stars! Rest else is a 1 star experience. Their keen eye to hygiene is almost at a ZERO — I was at their salads section buffet bar, and I set the tongs into the sliced tomatoes — BOY, were they gooey, or was Goo being served!!! I immediately called one of the hosts, showed them what I saw, they removed the container. I’d have been happier if they tossed that tomato into the garbage in front of me. Cause you businesses… they’ll re-invent things, and lord know if this would have been pureed for other purposes. Rice, in the buffet area, is crusty and browns to the point that it’s been over heating! The counters along the buffet area are soiled with spilt food and the staff don’t seem to clean it up for«appearances.» Their salt shaker was grimy. The glassware was full of oily finger prints. The service is lacking in happiness index. The bathroom is dirty, who would want to wash hands there, after dinner, unless you want to throw up! The nan basket that comes with the buffet order is cold, and the dosas taste like the batter is old. I wouldn’t be surprised if they are re-inventing the rice. All in all, enjoy what is on the menu, but don’t complain after. Cause that’s the consequence of your choice.

Revising this review to 1 star purely due to today’s extremely rude, condescending and inefficient customer service experience. The waiter did not have any courtesy to request the return of the menu card and it was just pulled out my hands without any indication. This is just the beginning of the whole story. I had opted for the Buffet and my Husband preferred to order an appetizer and an entrée, which seemed perfectly fine with them when we ordered. During the course of our meal, as we always do, we were sharing the food that we both had ordered. However, this seems to’ve irked the waiter and he had the gall to literally question about our sharing the food while we were trying to have a pleasant meal. If the restaurant has a problem with people sharing their food, they should make it a clear policy that all members of a party should either opt for buffet or a-la-carte instead of being inconsiderate to people who’ve different preferences but just want to taste each other’s choices. Lastly I would like to point out that while they were having a busy day, they had quite a few staff members around yet it was totally disorganized and confusing scene to see them struggle to seat people around the room. Looks like the business has been around for more than 5 years now, but the level of service and complete disarray in welcoming and seating people is just deplorable!!!

I have visited this place multiple times. I like their Thursday Night South Indian Buffet :) Lot of verity of south Indian dishes. Their cheese dosa is awesome, they have a big spread of chutney, you just think of any chutney and they have it in their buffet menu. One small advice that they can include Bisi Bele Bath in their menu :) Coming to their al a carte — its Ok, Naan is too thick and not properly cooked. Chicken Dishes are just awesome(Including Starters). I should not forget to praise their Vijaywada Chicken Biryani(It comes in large serving) Their downside is shrimp/prwan gravy dishes– they can improve it :) Gravy was like tamarind syrup. Hope to visit them again with improvement :)

4 stars for different kinds of dosas and biryani. The dosa can be a little more crispy thought. That’s the South Indian palate talking!

Worst experience at an Indian restaurant the food was really bad the appetizer(chicken 65) was cold and the guy gave a dosa with the naan that was a good sign but the dosa is not so good. The owner has brought the bill while we are eating it was so embarrassing for me as he want us to leave I didn’t like the behavior of the owner.

Lunch with 70 items Appetizer — 15 types Veg Curry — 10 items Meat Items — 10 items Dessert/Sweet — 10 items and some more If you are looking for this menu, Dosa Bawarchi is you destination. Their Buffet is ok kind but too many items to try. You should go there with very hungry stomach and come out with a mood of sleeping. They offer North and South Indian food.

If you like spicy Indian biryani, then this is your place. I regularly take a to go because me and my friends love the egg and mutton biryani at this place. In a cost perspective it is a little pricey, but I love the size and quality of the helping. I am giving it a three rating because I didn’t like the experience when I went to have food in the restaurant. After finishing our dinner, we asked for to go boxes from an aged waiter. He gave us a small box, after which we asked for a bigger one. He actually told us that we can fit all our left over food in that(mind you, there was a lot. Their biryani servings are huge). We requested a bigger box again, and he got us one after thinking about it for a full minute(talk about cost cutting). That left a bad taste in our mouths, after which I never went to sit in the restaurant again.

This restaurant is going crazy. Please stop eating here. Its very unhealthy, in-proper and unhygienic to eat here. Unfortunately we took a Veg-Biryani To Go yesterday and it did upset my stomach and friends. They are serving food which is very old, stale and bad in taste.
