Oysters, Kung pow calamari, crunchy tuna lettuce wraps and that’s just to start. Wait staff is awesome– if you want a fun place for couples or couples with kids, check it out!

Just what the area needed, an awesome pub with an incredible beer selection, great food, and a great staff. The food here is great. The wings are excellent. The burgers and cheesesteaks are great too. Plus the raw bar is fresh and wonderful. We love the clean bar, great food and friendly staff. It’s a great place for watching a game, enjoying happy hour, or having dinner

I’m being generous with a 3 star rating. We arrived around 5pm and there were plenty of seats. Our waiter was prompt but when we asked about the beer selection he told us to view the electronic screen above the bar. Weird… because it rotated through other info and so you only had about 5 seconds to read it before it changed. Apparently there is not a printed menu for their beer offerings. I was glad they had a decent number of happy hour specials so we decided to try the fried pickles and the wings. The wings were hot and flavorful. The pickles were cold and were super thin with a heavy fried coating. It was like eating fried circles with a sticky sweet sauce. Not appealing. The waiter seemed to be very attentive but never bothered to take our main course order until we asked him to, after eating our appetizers! Fortunately the entrees came out quickly. We ordered fish tacos and salmon blt. The two fish tacos were cold! The fried fish was not seasoned nor was it a meaty fish. A cheap light flaky option, and not what you would expect for $ 14. The salmon sandwich was good and flavorful. Though we were charged $ 14 for a $ 12 sandwich. When we were leaving the hostess didn’t look up from her seating chart but muttered thanks for dining with us.

First impression of this place was not so good. We went on a Saturday night and there was a musician playing a guitar and singing so loud my wife and I could barely hear our own conversation. Other than this our experience was wonderful. Our waiter«Storm» was awesome. He had a great attitude and was helpful explaining the menu to us. My wife and I order the old bay hot wings as an appetizer. Thru were awesome! I had the sirloin cheese steak with caramelized onions mushrooms and homemade cheese whiz. It was out of this world. My wife had some type of hamburger. She said it was outstanding. To top it off we had the candy bacon fries donuts with ice cream. It was out of this world! Definitely need two people to eat it after a meal. They also have a nice craft need selection with specials on some of the local craft brews from time to time. We will defiantly be going back here from time to time.

I like this place. I came in for happy hour and the bar was packed, but a very nice hostess found a barstool and squeezed me in between some friendly folks. Call me a geezer but the little touches like that can make a big difference. The 4 buck happy hour nachos are a good deal, and theres a wide variety of draft beers to choose from. Live music and good atmosphere.

Excellent food and staff. If you live in the neighborhood or you are visiting bethany beach Hooked Up Ale house is a must! We visit weekly and my family was visiting from out of town… my grandson has severe food allergies and the Manager Joe was very accommodating and concerned. We enjoyed a great meal and as always excellent service. Five stars… thank you. hooked up!!!

I understand it’s after 10, I don’t expect a lot. So why are you handing me a menu with 11 items when only 5 are available? The last 3 times we were here you did this… A cold salad and/or a cold sandwich isn’t challenging, no matter when, especially when it’s on the menu. Maybe another menu… The atmosphere is great, just gotta figure this little one out.

Popular Ale House with a steady and strong following — it will be loud — but food selection is good and draft beer list is excellent. The Kung Pow Calamari is a must and a favorite as is The Chopped Salad which has fried chicken and jalapeños.

Awesome dining experience! Came here with our BEST friends — we all had a great experience, stealing from each other’s plates, enjoying the atmosphere. .even trying fried pickles for the very 1st time. Fried pickles? Who ever thought of frying sliced bread and butter pickles. .this place did and d#mned, were they ever so good! Wings, sliders, fries all come in different ways you can order. .just simply the best! Can’t wait to come back here!

What a pleasant surprise for a sports bar. Great food. Room for groups. Good for kids — maybe before the bar crowd rolls in. Friendly staff. The berry mojito was fantastic. The soft pretzel app with cheese was amazing. The strawberry salad with goat cheese was great — except garlic dressing might not be the dressing they should serve. I will plan a trip here every time I head for the beach(approx. 4x/year). I hope this restaurant stays in this location. Many restaurants fail here. This restaurant is great!

We went on Friday night and the first thing we noticed was how unbearably loud it was. There was an alleged musician sitting on the floor playing a guitar and yowling into an amp which was maxed out so you couldn’t hear yourself think, let alone converse. The volume is the only reason, however, that this place doesn’t rate five stars. The service was polite, prompt, and attentive. The menu was limited to what you would expect in a sports bar, but what we ate was excellent. I had a dozen delicious Malpac oysters on the half shell, and my wife had one of their specialty burgers, cooked just right. Good selection of local craft beer. Try the bread pudding for dessert! The décor was attractive, with a gazillion TVs. The house was packed, and not just with young people. There have been several restaurants tried and failed at this location; this one’s gonna make it.

Live nearby and have been here for Happy Hour 5 – 6 times in past 5 months. I have had great burgers a few times. Loved my first 2 nachos but past 2 have been boring(no meat variety once) and dry(very little meat and cheese). I have wondered if they purposefully cut down on toppings. And once I had hot wings which actually burned my palate and tonsils from spice not temp! Lively vibe, good place to watch games. Our service has been good.

Pretty good food, but inattentive service at best. Went there a couple weeks ago during happy hour, sat at the bar. No real greeting from the bartender and had to ask for a food menu. I ordered the pork belly corn dog and a beer. Upon receiving it, the expediter knocked over the ramekin of spicy maple syrup, was apologetic, but didn’t offer a replacement. The corn dog was tasty, but a tad messy. But what to wipe my hands with? I had to ask for silverware and a napkin. I came back this past Friday after work, ordered a beer and shortly after, some wings. Also very good wings. It took awhile to get my check, but it was only for $ 5(instead of $ 13h Thinking hey, the bartender hooked me up, I left a generous $ 5 tip. Checked my bank account, and found that not only had they charged the full $ 13, but a separate charge for $ 5. I shan’t be returning. Lots of places to get good food and good service.

So in a continued search for the elusive oysters I’ve been DESPERATE to have since being pregnant/giving brith. We came for a short vacation to the area and we’re hoping to get into Henlopen City Oyster House but who knew they don’t serve food until 5pm and opening 3pm is only for the raw bar and bar? So not friendly for a family with a newborn and 3.5 year old in tow. We ended up here. Ended up here but thrilled with them oysters! They serve them with cocktail sauce. We requested the mignonette sauce but realized fairly quickly why they don’t serve it with the oysters(no good!) the shuck was a little dirty but I wasn’t picky(a little bit of shell here and there). Fine for someone desperate for oysters mid-day but would be pissed to get that many shell bits on the regular. All in all served its purpose but should have known better than to go to an ale house for oysters.

My family and I ate here yesterday for lunch(my parents own a home in the area). This was my first time dining here. I was very impressed with our experience. The menu is great, our food came out quickly, and our server was very attentive. I’d recommend the Salmon BLT– mine was spectacular! All of meals had very generous portions.

As there are many corny to clever takes on restaurant names all over the Delaware coast, here’s another one called Hooked Up. A new bar/restaurant in the Bethany area and close to our place raised my attention. Also knowing of the company that is highly successful with its other sister restaurants such as Just Hooked(Fenwick) and Off the Hook(Bethany). I’ve been to Off the Hook, which was pretty good. Those restaurants are a bit more small and intimate dining where Hooked Up is a full fledged sports bar restaurants with games, equipped with some pool tables and arcade style games. The arcade games have some issues with eating your money but just ask the hostess and they will refund the money for you. Pool tables are a nice touch for 4 quarters a game. Now let’s talk about the food. I’ve ordered take out the first time and dined in another time. So there’s a huge difference. When we ordered take out, we didn’t like the food. Maybe when taking food to go, the food gets soggy, especially the Reuben and Steak and Cheese. While we ordered in, man the food was awesome! I had the fish and chips and that was pretty good. Fish probably needed more seasoning but the texture of this fried goodness was perfect. Their presentation was really nice too and totally unexpected for a bar type food. Consider it fancy bar food. Fries were really good as a side kick to the main hero. I almost liked the side kick more. All my friends ordered something different and the common theme was coming away impressed and surprised that the food exceeded their expectations. Definitely a great impression! Service was awesome and this place is family friendly! Lots of TVs to watch games! I finally found a place close by to watch my Skins win(optimistic like every year before season starts). Well at least I can drown my sorrows at the nice bar. I’m a fan after giving the restaurant a 2nd try. Will have to do that from now on. Almost gave this restaurant 3 stars too! The Good: — big area, cool arcade games and pool tables for entertainment — big TV screens and plenty of it for watching football — great dining area and well decorated — food is surprisingly good for a bar food. Definitely know what their doing! — Reuben is great, fish and chips, and steak and cheese all good — in shopping center with plenty of parking The Bad — takeout food gets soggy so just eat in!

Family friendly– but Kids Mac and cheese kraft :( Adult food great– can’t beat the short rib chili. Staff extremely Unilocalful. Great tap beer selection but no descriptions and hard to figure out what u want when waitress is too young to drink and give feedback. Yummy spiked lemonade!

After a dinner at Off The Hook, a sister restaurant, we thought we would try Hooked Up the following evening. Happy hour is a steal, the drinks and meals were both satisfying and easy on my wallet. The wings were meaty, the muscles were HUGE, and the burger was juicy — obviously made there that day. The Peanut fudge brownie sundae was to die for — the perfect way to end a great meal. The wait staff was attentive and were very familiar with the menu.
