I ordered a sausage roll and a Stromboli and I got neither one. I understand that it’s Friday and they’re very busy but I’m not a happy camper, not my first time there and I probably won’t go back

Great food, great service, great people. What more can you ask for. Try it yourself and you will love it

Just moved to the area, me and a friend drove around looking for something any thing to eat and came across this restaurant. I’m not into Italian food but the waitress explained what everything was and the food was great. I will be going back.

Okay. So I tried this place twice — Just so I can give them a fair rating. On both tries, I was seriously not impressed. Their food was very bla with nothing«authentic» about it. Their pizza was very dry and had way too much bread(not enough toppings) which really turned me off. How can you be a pizzeria and screw up pizza? Last night we tried the cheesesteak sandwich, the mozzarella sticks and the chicken francese with a side of alfredo fettuccini — the cheesesteak had very little meat in it(again mostly bread), the sticks were way overcooked(dry also at that point)…the chicken was okay but drenched in oil and lemon juice…The alfredo fettuccine was not bad.

I love their eggplant and pizza. Don’t bother with ordering extra cheese on a pie because it will be super messy. The cheese doesn’t stay on the dough.

Ordered twice recently through Unilocal’s eat24 app, for pickup. Ordering was simple and order was ready and correct when I arrived. A note — a review indicated they don’t take credit cards any more. I used my credit card to pay directly on eat24, and the second time waited until I got to the restaurant, where my credit card was accepted with no problems. We like the simplicity of the 18″ Boardwalk Style pie… ultra-thin crust with a bubbled, crispy edge. Great flavor on the crust. Tangy tomato sauce, gooey cheese in ample(but just right) quantity. Have also tried the 18″ hot subs, and they are generous. Vito’s Favorite was great. The sausage and pepper was a bit on the dry side, and the generous portion of sausage was a bit overcooked and flavorless. We added salt and ketchup. If there is a problem, it may be the eat24 app… they give the time as «ready in 10 — 35 minutes», which is a wide window. Arriving at about 25 minutes after order, the pie may have been sitting for a while, because it was not hot by the time I got it home. Next time I’ll try leaving immediately on order, so I’ll be there when it comes out of the oven.

5 stars because of their gluten free pasta that tastes like regular pasta AND because of their delicious sauce. Ordered takeout from here for the first time yesterday, primarily because they have gluten free spaghetti options. Most restaurants only offer gluten free penne so I was pumped to try their spaghetti. I ordered the Penne Margherita with eggplant, zucchini, and onion in a creamy marinara sauce. SOGOOD. Will definitely be back!

The gnocchi is delicious!!! Love their sauce. Great shrimp Parmesan. The spinach salad with strawberries is delicious, with added grilled chicken! Have not yet tried the pizza, but usually go for take out dinners on a busy night… Plan on trying the pizza soon. The staff is very friendly as well… Would recommend.

Was much better when they just opened. Now, pizza has barely any cheese, stuffed mushrooms are tiny and in soo much red sauce. And they dont take credit cards anymore. Time to look for another local pizzeria.

Place was freezing, but they did turn the ac off or the heat on as it did get warmer. Generous portion of garlic knots. However, someone in our party ordered eggplant parm and received a sandwich not a meal like everyone else ordered. Not wanting to make a scene he accepted it but didn’t end up eating half of it. Waitress should have clarified if she couldn’t figure out he wanted the dinner like everyone else.

Let me start out by saying that the food is pretty decent. That being said, they’re not that great. I’ve ordered delivery from them four times. Three out of the four times, they’ve gotten the order wrong or left something out entirely. The last two times they left something out I called to tell them, they told me that they were closing soon and couldn’t do anything about it. Listen, I never complain. I was a server for years and am very empathetic, but when you leave something out of multiple orders that I already paid for, it’s kinda like you’re stealing my money. Especially when I give you multiple chances to rectify the situation and you basically tell me to f off. There are other good, reliable places in the area that are actually honest and competent. Go there instead.

The demise of Mancini’s must be a huge boon for all of the other local pizzerias in the area. That, and the fact that my other normal go-to’s, Brothers and Dusal’s, don’t deliver, and well let’s just say a door opened to trying Francesco’s that I might not have otherwise ever walked through. And now here they sit firmly in my pizza delivery rotation. We have ordered delivery from Francesco’s many times now without ever having a problem. The order is always correct, comes pretty fast, and is generally still hot upon arrival. If you can run a reliable delivery operation, you’re more than halfway to success. The rest of your success hangs on the food, for which Francesco’s is solid. I can’t vouch for much other than the pizza and salads, but I do like what they’re selling here. There is something about their olive oil crust that reminds me of my Dad’s pizza. A hearty, German mountain of a man, my father had no right making homemade pizza, let alone pizza that is so beloved in my family. His trick was a fairly thin layer of dough, stretched out across long pieces of tin foil that he would painstakingly rub down in advance with a stick of butter. This would not only prevent the pizza from sticking to the tin foil, but would also give the crust this delicious, velvety, buttery taste that was unlike any other pizza I had ever eaten. The only challenge he had was getting the bottom crispy, something he later perfected by purchasing a pizza stone for the oven. Well, eating Francesco’s pizza reminds me of my Dad’s buttery crusted pizza. And for that, I couldn’t possibly give anything less than 4 stars. While not as rich and decadent as his, it has great flavor and a beautiful golden crust. Try a pink pie and get it with vodka sauce instead of marinara for a delicious riff on the classic. I also really like their spinach salad — fresh, leafy bunches of spinach, with fresh mozzarella chopped up with some delicious roasted red peppers, and tossed in a housemade balsamic dressing.(None of that Ken’s salad dressing to be found on this one.) Great flavors and surprisingly fresh produce that you don’t always find in a neighborhood pizza joint. If you want to order delivery and pay by credit card, no problem. They take them right over the phone. And you can tip on the card, too. This is always convenient if you’re low on dough or just generally want to limit the need to do math on-the-fly when your food arrives. [Next day edit: Pizza reheats really nicely! Again, I credit that awesome crust!]

Delicious pizza, very friendly staff, & the store is very clean. Definitely worth a try if you’re in the area, & will definitely stop in here again if in the area & craving a slice. I’m actually anxious to try the meals from this place. I’m giving it four stars, instead of five, only because I think the slice could have used a little more cheese, truth to tell, probably enough cheese for most people.

Accurate delivery speed time and food that satisfied my cravings! I ordered the plain pizza and pepperoni slices and they satisfied my pizza craving. The pizza was still very warm and I love when the cheese is still gooey. This is one of the few delivery places that allows individual pizza slices rather than ordering an entire pizza pie for delivery(via GrubHub). The chef salad and side salad were made with fresh ingredients. I also liked the deli meat and cheese; very fresh and juicy slices/rolls. The meat ravioli was still hot when it arrived and it even came with blue cheese dressing. The ravioli was mouth-watering and flavorful. It also came with a side of sliced bread. The mozzarella sticks were good but not the best; the marinara sauce was the same. Lastly, when I ordered online, I asked for two large fountain drinks($ 2.00) each. I was expecting the drinks to be «large» and worth $ 2.00, but instead I got two bottled drinks! I was disappointed at the drink size since I drink a lot of fluids. Other than the drinks, the food was very filling and savory.

Sooo I kept ordering from here and surely the quality and taste kept diminishing. The ‘homemade’ tiramisu is not made at home but at ferraro foods apparently & the portions keep gettting smaller. For $ 6, I expect a lot more than what they’re shelling out these days. The service has never been good here period, but lately? Omg the older woman who works there has the worst customer service & phone manner EVER. Last time they sent undercooked chicken in the pasta, mushy overcooked noodles, flavorless gravy, a 2.5×2.5″ square of tiramisu and they sent it to the wrong address.

Great grandma pizza — excellent service and nice outdoor seating — the owner Vito is an awesome guy, who makes your experience special. I have had spaghetti and meatballs, chicken parmigiana, calzones and more, all were delicious. Don’t forget to try the cannoli, and then take a stroll in Milltown to walk off the calories. Vito also has a restaurant in NYC on Columbus Ave.

This place is very disappointing! Was hoping that there would be a better pizza place, but this sure is not it. I went with my husband and two children and we ordered a large pie and a large salad. the all iceberg salad was only enough for two of us, even though I asked the server if it would be enough for four of us. The pizza was not a regular size large pie. We left hungry and still paid about $ 40 for dinner. I won’t be back

3.75 is probably more accurate. The food is very good. Consistency is the real problem. I was a loyal patron of Bella Villa. It was my favorite Milltown pizza joint. The Grandma Pie, in particular, was incomparably tasty. The change in ownership brought many nice changes to this Milltown mainstay. The re-designed interior is bright and cheery. The menu has been expanded to include more dinner options. There are lots of new and interesting chicken dishes, as well as some more«exotic» fare(e.g. fried chick pea sandwich from Sicily). The tech-savvy new owner has also introduced an enhanced web site presence with online ordering. All very good. Regrettably, though, about half the time, I encounter some type of quirk. I will place an order on the phone and am told to pick it up in 15 minutes. When I arrive at the appointed time, I have to wait an additional 20 minutes. There was another time I used the online ordering system and requested the pizza arrive at 5:45 p.m. Instead, it showed up hot on my doorstep immediately after I placed the order(around 4:00 p.m. in the afternoon). In other instances, I tried a new dish and loved it. However, when I ordered it again, it was prepared quite differently — not necessarily bad, just not what I expected. None of these sins is unforgiveable. Usually after one bite of a perfectly prepared Vito’s Pie, I’m prepared to let bygones be bygones. What I have noticed is that whereas I used to order from them 1 – 2 times a week, now I’m ordering more seldom. They do make some really scrumptious food. But, sometimes you’re just not in the mood for surprises.

The food was very good. The service was lacking. The owner(lady) got rattled because big groups were coming in. She should have kept that from being obvious to customers. The chemical odor coming from the rest rooms can be very strong whenever someone opens the door to the rest room. So get your food to go and enjoy it. The shrimp picatta is excellent, the veal parm is average. The pizza is amazing.

Good Italian food, price, service and atmosphere is what to expect from this Milltown pizzeria. Clean bright no frills dining area. Plenty of table seating with multiple flat screens to catch a game while chowing down. Garlic knots with marinara gravy to get things started were nicely done however the sauce albeit tasty needs a bit more sweet and a hint more garlic to fend off the acid. BBQ hot wings slightly breaded at decent size and packed with heat to make your tongue dance. Meats balls with spaghetti or your pasta choice missed, far too dense, lacking complexity and that garlic zing that I oh so desire in Italian cuisine. Eggplant Rollatini with fairly delicate eggplant upon ricotta cheese and mozzarella amply piled with a generous dabble of marinara was good, but not blown away. I was pleasantly surprised by the linguine with white clam sauce; loaded with little neck clams and slices of garlic in a perfectly slightly thicken sauce, pasta definitely not homemade, cooked just right, but could’ve used a little larger portion especially for dinner. The tiramisu is divine and a massive portion for $ 5.95. Fresh crispy house salad provided with all entrees. Most if not all of the menu items are priced extremely affordably with lunches well under $ 10 and most dinners under $ 15. If your looking for pizza they do it well. Remember to order it exactly the way you like it because their standard pie has a bit too much dough and not cooked crispy. The grandma pie rocks. The service is exceptional, warm and inviting. Something has to be said for that welcoming feeling as you enter an establishment, you’re made to feel amongst family. Now they have some great items and some not so great. As a whole their product is good and of course priced well, but needs more consistency. Taking in all things considered we’ll be back. Currently a 3 rating at this time reserving an update after deeper menu exploration has been experienced. In a sea of central Jersey sub par pizzeria’s Francesco’s has promise. BYOB Bonus!
