Buffington’s

I’m a server from out of town came to visit my sister with my mom and decided to eat at here. Very happy we did. The server Jenny was very nice always had our drinks refilled constantly. Her overall service was great. Along with her everyone seemed to help out which was nice. Good team work. Loved the fried green tomatoes. Will come back here everytime I visit.

Good food. Everything I’ve had has been very flavorful. I often wish there was a larger portion.
Pleasant, attentive servers.
Prices are ok, but I think a tad pricy compared to the amount of food sometimes.
The kitchen is often slow. Don’t go if you are in a hurry.
Otherwise, go for it! You’ll enjoy the food and atmosphere. I’ve never been disappointed with the quality and taste of the food.

Went here for our anniversary dinner, because a local told us they had a great blue burger. He said they had the best burgers in town. My husband loves blue burgers, and I wanted a steak; I looked at the menu and they had both. The vibe was awesome, The Black Keys and Beck on the speakers. Beautiful wood and iron décor, the giant moose head was a little out of place. But, most importantly the food was great. We were both really pleased.
Great food, but I have one suggestion get the baked potato instead of fries. The green beans that come with the steak are fresh and tasty, except they had a lot of grated parm on them. I am not a big fan of the parm, but my husband loved them.
Over all really good would definitely go back, and I would like to try the blue burger next time.

Went to this place at around 6 o’clock on a Friday and man was it hot. No air conditioning or something. We sat at the bar, waiting about fifteen minutes (without getting served) and walked out with sweat pouring off our face. Maybe we came at a bad time but I won’t be back.

Always polite, never missing anything from our order, even when they’re busy! There’s nothing quite like a Buff burger!

Allow me to start my rant by saying this: to our server, if you read this, God bless you. You were great.
I was so incredibly disappointed by this place. The food was great, I mean really really great, but let me tell you something, when you have two servers jumping between 15 tables and the manager/​owner/​loiterer sitting at the bar eating and drinking and making jokes with the bartender and not doing a thing– that manager/​owner/​loiterer deserves a ripe ass whooping with a metal spoon. Our server had no help. None whatsoever. My girlfriend and I were having lunch with another couple and the poor waitress had no help and every time she came to the table she apologized. I finally told her to tell the manager to get off his ass and help them out.
Anyways, as for the food, it was great. Good burger and good fried pickles.
You may read this and think «man, this guy is a prick.» Well, I am when I comes to service. As a manager, it is your job to make
Sure everyone is cared for properly. It is your job to make sure everything is running smoothly. If you can’t do that, get the hell out.
I’m done. If the manager reads this– get a new job my man.

We were seated quickly, our waitress was super sweet. The energy was great.
I ordered the white queso fries, a Swiss and shroom burger (veggie burger– No meat with a slice of American cheese added), with a side of fries, a tequila sunrise, and a vegetarian quesadilla to go.
The queso fries were 4 stars would be 5 if some of them weren’t so crunchy and if it had more cheese.
The sidewinder fries were great, seasoned perfectly, I also give them 4 stars. The Tequila Sunrise gets 5 stars. It was super cheap (Happy hour), it was sweet, and didn’t taste as strong as it was because I felt it hit me 5 minutes after drinking ¹⁄₅ of it. The burger is 5 stars! This was the best burger I have ever had and that includes the ones back in my meat eating days. The mushrooms were so flavorful, the Swiss and American cheese were perfect together.
I can’t wait for my next burger. It will most definitely be from here.
(The vegetarian quesadilla was great. It had black beans and mushrooms instead of meat — I give it 5 stars.)

My daughter and boyfriend, both students, said we should eat there, and recommended burgers. I’m sure the food is very good at times, but our night was not that time. We started with fried pickles and mushrooms. The pickles were said to be «pretty good,» and the mushrooms were very good. I ordered a burger with great expectations. Our waitress disappeared for about 50 minutes at that point. The place was moderately busy. She finally asked if we were still working on the pickles, and my wife asked if the food was coming. Right after that it arrived. My burger was broken in half, like someone had looked to see if it was done. The buns were so soggy, it was obvious they had sat for some time with lettuce and tomato soaking in. It was horrible, and cold. I didn’t eat it. Thankfully the fries were edible. It took another 20 minutes to get the check from another waiter. As I said, you may have a good experience with great food, but I won’t go back. The poor service is not worth it, and the chance of bad food seals the deal for me.

The food was very good. We had shrimp n grits and a skillet burger. Both were very tasty, if a little slow to get to the table. The fried pickles were advertised as world famous or something. They were good, but we’ve had better. I wouldn’t hang my reputation on a dish that was just average. The location, décor and staff were great.

Hot wings were ok –have had better have had worse. At least they were hot when they arrived. I’ll give them a «C». Asked for celery with them and they threw in about three scrawny half limp pieces.
Service gets a «C-​» was never here, could have sold me more wings and another beer but had to ask another server to find him for me so I just asked for my ticket when he finally got back to me.

The food and atmosphere are both great. The burger is just like if you made it at home. And the bands that these guys are bringing in are great. You know your doing something right when there’s girls dancing on the the tables. Good job guys!

I tried to go here for lunch with a friend. After sitting for 55 minutes and not receiving the two sandwiches we ordered we had to leave to get to an appointment. The waitress had ignored us for the previous 25 minutes, never updating or letting us know the status of our food. When we told her we were leaving she half-​way apologized but did nothing to try to keep our service or offer to quickly get us something to go. After stopping in the restroom I passed her on the way out and she again ignored me. Since they don’t seem to care about their customers, we won’t be back!

Oh the Buff. I enjoyed this place because depending on what time you went, it could be super crowded and lively, or quiet and relaxing. Their burgers are good, but I typically ate elsewhere and just enjoyed drinks here. Karaōke night is fun to watch. Solid place all around. Bartenders are friendly and knowledgeable.

I’ve been here twice. The first time was pretty good, nothing knocked my socks off. The queso fries were good.
The second time was just… not awesome. We were ahead of the lunch rush on graduation day. I ordered a burger and fries. The service was good, but my bun was tough like it was going stale, the burger was sort of tasteless, and the lettuce was sort of brown. My fries were barely cooked, they were cold and white. It could have been a lot worse, I guess, but if there was a day you’d think they’d be on their A-​game, it’d be GCSU graduation day.

Good food, an amazing band, and cheap! The art decoration on the walls was really interesting, and the staff was fast, friendly, and efficient. We had a blast!

Food is really good – one of the best burgers I’ve had – and the late night experience is pretty solid. Trivia night is rather competitive and well-​organized.
When I attended college (class of ’08), you were allowed to smoke in bars. If this is still the case, avoid at nights unless you want to smell of smoke for a few weeks. Sometimes, this place would still smell like stale cigarettes at lunch the next day. But, whatever, it’s a bar.

14+ hamburgers on the menu plus many other sandwich choices. Choose ¹⁄₃ or ½ lb on burgers now. I love the black and blue. New menu now comes with choice of fries, fried pickles or chips with the price of the burger, no more up-​charges for them! I highly recommend the fried pickles, these are the BEST you will ever eat in your life! Dip them in ranch.

Went back to the Buff for the first time in a couple years. They have changed the menu and… gulp…removed my bacon burger dog!!! I could have cried. They aren’t serving hot dogs AT ALL, not even for kids any longer or they would have made me one.
Not one to be disappointed, I got creative. They do corn dog bites for kids’ meals so I asked for a bacon cheeseburger with mini corn dogs! They said it would cost a little extra and I said that was ok. Let me tell you, corn dogs on a burger are GREAT! I thoroughly enjoyed the experience… but…even though they only put two of the little guys on there they charged me $ 2.00 extra! That’s a buck a corn dog bite! Seriously? You can get a whle kids’ meal with fries and a drink for like $ 3.95. I thought it was a bit exhorbitant but what could I do at that point?
Between that, and the fact they no longer have the original bacon burger dog and the fact it took over an hour to get our simple burgers and fries kind of meal, I had to drop my rating to a three on this updated experience.

Buffington’s is a great place to grab a drink and have a little fun. The food isn’t that great, but it is ok; and the beer is always cold! The staff and owner of Buffington’s are great too! Very friendly and outgoing. And if you see Mr. Wayne down there, he’ll make you do a shot!

Good food, but a little pricey. They have a popular trivia night and, my favorite, karaōke night. Another plus is the staff is always friendly. If you’re a college student, it’s a good place to go if you want to get away from the Greekness that takes over most of the other bars in the area.
