Pastrami on rye bread was the best I’ve ever had! Tender, lean delicious pastrami on a great rye bread was so good I stopped talking with friends until I had my fill of this sandwich! Another sandwich ordered at our table had brisket and another turkey and they were all delicious and large. I can’t wait to go back and try other items on their extensive menu boards!

There are plenty of other places to eat — avoid unless everything else is closed. Waited 10 minutes for one of the 12 people behind the counter to help me. No greeting no apology for the wait. Decided against the $ 9.95 egg white omelette — really no reason for that price given the location. My son got 4 of the greasiest pancakes I have ever seen — had to dab off the extra oil with a napkin. Will post a photo if I can edit this. Gross. Not sure what they are famous for.

My favorite thing to get from here is a plain Taylor Ham on a toasted butter roll. The Taylor Ham isn’t too salty or greasy, the roll not too big or too hard and grilled to perfection. One thing Goldberg’s gets right is a perfect sandwich to bread ratio. Too much bread and you feel cheated, too much meat and it’s bursting from your sandwich and unwieldy to eat on the go. The staff is friendly, and the food worth the wait. The hallmark of a great business is the number of customers coming in to order«the usual» and I heard a lot of that during my last visit.

$ 10.95 for a bagel with butter and lox. Full price for a half portion of lox. Awful bagel — tasted like a frozen supermarket bagel. Handful of potato chips made soggy with a pickle thrown on top.

Arrived at Goldberg’s at 6:45 am. I was the only one in the store. I ordered a bagel at the counter(near the coffee) and was told to go to the bagel area. I get to the bagel area and the worker told me to go back to the front. If this is how they offer service when no one is in the store… good luck when its busy. After all of that, the bagel was stale. No excuse for that so early in the morning. I live close to the store. Won’t be going back.

While the line is long on a weekend morning, the line is definitely worth the wait. I search the streets looking for a decent bagel with lox and I definitely found it here. A toasted everything bagel with cream cheese lox and onion later and I was one satisfied gal. The chips and pickle were mediocre at best but that’s okay because the bagel was just that good! There are so many options here that you can’t go wrong here, there’s something for everybody!

Ok, so I’m back in the North East and the first thing you gotta have is a bialy with either lox and cream cheese, or white fish or even chopped liver… right? Can I hear an Amen! So maybe I lost some of the yeah sayers after the cream cheese but I got to give it Goldberg’s…they’re doing it right. Loved having that mixture of herbs, flavor and of course the water back on my tongue. So why did they not get five stars you ask? Well the service is where I am saddened to say. The store was empty and I still had to wait to get service first at the bagel counter and then at the deli counter while my server had a discussion which went on through the making of my order with his co-worker. Must be nice to have a job where you can talk as long as you want while the customer waits, and waits and waits… what am I doing wrong is what I want to know? Don’t be turned off through maybe it was just my lucky day!!!

Nice customer service, and the food wasn’t bad, but I rate you only 1 star because you are way overpriced! I ordered 2 bagels with cream cheese, ¼ lb chick pea salad, 1⁄3 lb hummus, with 4 bite size falafel balls thrown in for kicks,($ 1.00 each!), and one Naked Protein Zone drink. Total cost — over $ 29.00!!! Are you fucking kidding me??? Complete ripoff! I was so taken aback that I was sure there was an error in the calculation. I live in NYC so I am used to things being a bit pricey, but you guys are off the charts! Needless to say, we will not be back, and will direct friends in the area to avoid your establishment. Unbelievable.

I gave Golberg’s 3 stars only because of the quality of their food and the atmosphere of the place. It’s my go-to spot for an open faced bagel with cream cheese salmon onions etc. The cream cheese and salmon is good quality, but the rest of the order(lettuce, pickles, chips) is average at best. Unfortunately, it has some of the worst service I’ve ever seen. It’s slow, disorganized and they mess up my order 50% of the time. I make sure to enunciate exactly what I want and the way I want it when I order, but that doesn’t make a huge difference. My recommendation would be to check your order when you get it and ask for what would make you satisfied(I usually ask for extra cream cheese after I pay). I tried the sausage egg and cheese on a croissant and that was well made but it’s pretty difficult to mess that up. Overall, the seating and atmosphere of the place is relaxing and great for an early morning weekend with family or friends. The disclaimers that I would have would be that some of the employees are grumpy and unfriendly and to expect to be there for a longer than anticipated, especially if it’s during a busy hour. I usually get my food to go, but that’s simply my preference.

This is the best bagel shop in the area, hands down. They’ll even slice them for you if you’re getting a dozen, which not all bagel shops will do.

They make arguably the best Talyor Ham Egg and Cheese in town. However the wait to get a breakfast sandwich is double as long as any other place you go to. And that is not a good thing for somebody who hasn’t had breakfast and their coffee yet. I truly believe the guys who make the sandwich understand how long the wait is because they are very kind, but that doesn’t make up for the fact that it takes twenty minutes to get a Bagel with cream cheese. If you eat there, they have this great seasoning which is basically all the ingredients to an everything bagel. It’s pretty sweet to put all those goodies all over your food. Bottom line, they have greet food and a nice outdoor eating area but this isn’t Red Lobster or even a diner, it should be a quick in and out spot. This is why it got only 3 stars from me. If the Millburn deli across the street can be twice as busy and get you out twice as quickly, why can’t Goldbergs?

One of of favorite go to breakfast places especially in the nice weather. Today. Had one of the best toasted bialy with scallion cream cheese and lox. You might say how can you screw that up? Let’s see the bialy can be doughy(it was perfect) the cream cheese can be bland or be too loaded on(nope, tasty and perfect amount) the tomato could be sliced too thick or not ripe enough(neither of those things) the lox could be too thick, too salty, blah,(once again none of those things!) I kept saying to my husband isn’t this great? Good fresh iced tea, great friendly service, beautiful day, life is good at Goldberg’s!

I dont mind standing in line and having to go from station to station if the food is worthy. In fact, it can add to the experience. But to have no clearly marked system, customers complaining their orders are wrong AND sub par food is the trifecta. Chalk one up to the addage for places that call themselves«famous». Bagel tastes like it was made to be frozen and shipped to kansas for people who have never had a real east coast bagel. Pass! Actually, must give them credit for tasty cole slaw. But serving chips with a lox bagel?

I usually go to millburn deli but I decided to give this place a try… I ordered the Marty special which is grilled roast beef, grilled onions and melted cheese on grilled rye bread. $ 10.95. I thought it was pricy but I tried it anyway. So very very disappointed and pissed that I payed $ 10.95 for this sandwich. I wouldn’t pay half the price. The roast beef was dry and the bread greasy. It just had no taste. I won’t be returning. I’d rather pay $ 8.75 for a sloppy joe at the deli across the street… I’m still wondering why they would charge so much!!! I posted a pic of the Marty not so very special. I was forced to try a turkey sloppy joe only because millburn deli was closed. So I paid 12.79! Again way overpriced. No comparison between the millburn sloppy joe. Didn’t like the bread– way too dry

Loved this place so much. Tasty and cheap bagels and you really feel like you’re getting a taste of the«real» Millburn if you come in on a weekend morning. Gotta love any breakfast spot that will serve your bagel on a real plate, your coffee in a real mug, and encourage you to sit a while.(They’ve got copious seating, and more outside oh nice days!)

Rude! Maybe I caught them in a bad day, I wouldn’t know because I’ll never go back. Pro tip: If you order a toasted bagel they charge you for a bagel with butter. But they don’t tell you. And then if you question the total they completely lose their minds for not going along with their logic of «it costs money to use the toaster!» And they’re completely serious. Beware of their miserly hidden charges!

Was SO looking forward a New Years Eve dinner from Golberg’s deli. First time trying it. Did a take out order of Bubbe’s matzo ball soup, Latkes, jumbo sandwich(the bronx #11) and a pastrami on rye sandwich. The soup and latkes were good, not great, but the sandwiches stunk. The bronx has brisket, chopped liver, turkey and onion on it. I added swiss cheese. They gave me one measly slice of swiss on the sandwich. The chopped liver and brisket were bone dry. Terrible. With the soup they give you 2 large matzo balls but 10 bucks you’d think you’d get more. Latkes are $ 3 each. Real rip off for the quality. There are so many better Jewish Delis around but I live in NYC where there are the best. I guess this is probably the best it gets around Millburn. Blech

Pretty good food but expensive and SLOW. It took about thirty minutes to get to the front of the line. The cashier was incompetent and had to add up our order three different times in order to get the correct total. Sandwiches are around 11 – 15 $. We had the bagel and lox and the Marty’s sandwich. Both were very good! The sandwich was particularly greasy which made the sandwich tasty but after I felt a little gross. Comes with chips and a very tasty spiced pickle! Prob won’t be back just because of the slow service.

An all around good deli. Their bagels & flagels(flat bagels) are fresh and taste much better than Wonder Bagels. Cold cuts such as their ruben, pastrami & corned beef are lean & delicious. Their chicken matzo ball soup(when in season) is hearty. Tuna/egg salads are done just right. Knishes are pretty good too. Their freshly squeezed orange juice(they press it in front of you) is a must as well. As for supposed supposed disorganization & sloppiness(if there ever was) — they pull the line efficiently & courteously. The place is spacious & clean w/outside seating. The only thing I will avoid here is their attempt at the falafel(tastes like cardboard) and tabouli & Israeli salad(something’s missing). If you want good Middle Eastern food, go to King Falafel(also in Millburn). Anything else that’s deli, you park your mouth here.

This is the best Ruben outside the city! This is the new location for Bagel Château, now it’s clean with plenty of seating. The Kasha is fantastic and it’s the sautéed onions that takes it to the next level! They serve the ruben open face which was different but made it easy to split with someone else! The Pastrami is delicious, moist, and lean. The staff is very friendly and quick to clean up after messy families that leave a huge mess for someone else to clean up. It can get very loud and it’s not a place that’s great if you’re trying to enjoy a quiet meal. Personally, if you’re looking for cornbeef or pastrami stay on this side of the street!
