The only negative critique I have about this place, which is not within their control but should be mentioned is that it took me almost 20 minutes to find a place to park to pick up my to go order. The food and service were both excellent! I used eat24 to order, and found my food waiting for me when I arrived… Perhaps an option to have the food brought outside to your car during peak parking periods would be a nice option for online pre paid orders. The food is some of the better Thai food I have found in the area, very flavorful, though I will say that I ordered medium spice and I didn’t notice any spice at all… I would definitely return to order again :-)

Service is awful, I would never come back for that reason alone. Very rude staff and they make you feel like you’re a chore. Also, food is not great. I won’t be going back!

Came for lunch, good food and fast service. Nice relaxing environment! One of the only Asian cuisine restaurants around here that doesn’t close for lunch/dinner break.

I never review any restaurant before till i tried that place in Millbrae the plan was to go to the one in san francisco but when i put the restaurant name on the map it show there is another one in Millbrae so we decided to try this one Right when you walk in you can smell a very distinct odor maybe from that green carpet or because there is mildew or the building was flooded i don’t know but it was a really bad smell. The service was really bad the people who work inside they don’t understand english it was hard to communicate there is only 4 people dining in and it took forever to make the food The TOMYUM Soup was nasty The CRABFRIEDRICE was ok The SPICYEGGPLANT was not cooked The GARLICSHRIMP over cooked The CHICKENKEEMAWNOODLE the noodle taste ok but the chicken was nasty. overall i wish Unilocal have less than one star option so i can choose it.

Sadly, service here has gone down. Came in at 545 pm on a Wednesday night. Before I was even seated I ordered my food. It wasn’t even busy(4 other tables occupied and most already had their food out). my order is fairly simple and it was only me no other person in my party. Food didn’t come out till 30 min. Later… uhm why??? I used to get my food out in 10 min or less during busy days. Sad.

I realized I never left a review for Thai Stick on Unilocal, and I have to write one as a public service announcement — avoid, avoid, avoid. The service is terrible and the food is «hit or miss». Over the years it’s become more and more often completely miss. I’ve given this restaurants so many chances over the years living in Millbrae. I’ve eaten here nearly a dozen times and I’ve probably never left happy. I even had delivery here once, and well… never again. There’s a reason this place is open late and never busy — it’s not that good.

Heads up! Waited 15mins before server approached us and took our order. Ordered Hawaiian Curry Rice Plate, server said they cant to rice plate. So okay, i’ll just pay more for the alacarte. Ordered Mango Juice, server said they don’t have juice that night. They better not spit on my food

Love their ginger rice. I ordered the red curry a la carte and didnt feel like eating it with rice. But it was so yummy, i decided to order some rice to eat it with the curry. Well, the ginger rice that i ordered seperayely was so good that i just ate the whole plate of rice by itself. I also like the fact that it opens until 1:00am on friday night. Alas, somewhere to go to that is not a bar or pub.

My family has been coming here for over 18 years now. I think it’s only appropriate to finally write a review. I remember when I was pregnant with my first born, I craved spicy food. Hubby used to indulge me on my cravings since he was a willing participant. I remember how we enjoyed seeing their servers in traditional Thai garb and how they used to serve us our Tom Ka soup from their pot(that seems to have gotten smaller over the years). Food seems to have not changed much over the years. Only the prices have gone up and the portion has diminished. It becomes quite expensive since you have to order more dishes. I recommend the Tom Ka soup, Prig King, Panang curry and their house special angel wings which are so yummy. Now we bring our 18 year old and 16 year old to eat here. They too enjoy the food here. They must be doing something right if they’ve been around the neighborhood for this long. One less star for that one less angel wing over the years.

Prices are decent here, and service is good. That’s about all I can say for the positives. Right when you walk in, you can smell a very distinct odor, and it’s not the smell of food. Then, you sit down, and your tables and chairs are sticky. Okay, you think to yourself, it’s an Asian restaurant, just give them the benefit of the doubt. This happens at almost all Asian restaurants, so go with it. Food arrives(fried taro, pad thai, pad see ewe), but the smell lingers. Fried taro is limp, and the sauce has no flavor. The pad see ewe had raw vegetables in it, and no eggs even though the waitress asked if eggs were okay, and I said yes. Not even the smell of the food could overpower the smell of the restaurant, and the plates were pretty small for a Thai place. By the end of the meal, I wished we had gone elsewhere. Now I know my gut was right when I kept going by this place.

Thai Stick. Quite possibly the only thing in Millbrae that’s open past midnight. And, potentially, the most underwhelming Thai food I’ve ever had outside of a mall food court. Then again, I guess I should have known. It’s not like the one I tried years ago in SF was all that special and the take out I had from their other SF location was pretty awful. I should have known… Now, considering that they have several locations, you’d think their food would be pretty decent. Perhaps not as authentic/legit as places like Kin Khao or Lers Ros, since they’re catering to broader, milder tastes, but definitely something above average. However, not only is the menu pretty generic, but after trying several different dishes, I’ve yet to find anything worth coming back for. –LUNCHSPECIAL — Chicken Green Curry Rice and Potstickers Chicken Green Curry Rice:( ) Potstickers:( ) I love Thai green curry, but this one was very disappointing. The portion looks large in the photo, but it was mostly filled with bamboo and without much chicken. Plus, where was the spice/kick? Despite the chili flakes, it tasted more like mild yellow curry to me. As for the potstickers, «don’t bother» would sum them up best. – CRABFRIEDRICE with Onions, Green Onions, Egg, and Curry Powder ( ) The best thing I’ve had here, but that’s just relative to everything else I’ve tried. The taste of the dish was okay, mostly thanks to the curry powder on the rice. While there were noticeable shreds of crab, I could barely taste them in the dish. – CRISPYFRIEDCHICKENWITHFRIEDRICE and Sweet and Sour Sauce ( ) On the one hand, the strips of chicken actually weren’t bad — decently meaty with a nice, thin batter. On the other, it didn’t have a ton of flavor, as the chicken didn’t seem like it had been seasoned. Ditto for the fried rice as well, which was a bit bland. – PADSEEEWE with Pork — Fresh Rice Noodles with Egg, Chinese Broccoli, and Thai Soy Sauce ( ) Even though it didn’t fail in any specific way, comparable(and better) versions can easily be found elsewhere. Other than being a little heavy on soy sauce, nothing about it stood out from being anything other than mediocre. Well, that and being a relatively small portion. As disappointing as the food has been, the service is what really drags Thai Stick down even further — workers with a «blah» attitude that seem to be just going through the motions. Sure, they get the job done, but they aren’t exactly attentive. Can’t a guy just get his water refilled? Since there aren’t many late night options for eats in Millbrae, Thai Stick might be okay in a pinch(I’ve heard that the food/chef is better at night than at lunch). However, even in that case, I still might opt for driving over to Jack n The Box in San Bruno instead.

Just awful. Would never come back here again. We ordered the coconut soup and they just threw chunk of tomatoes in there. Really? They literally cut a tomato in quarter sections and just threw them in there. The other dishes we ordered didn’t taste like anything. At the end of our meal, they said the POS machine was down and that it was cash only. So I had to run across the street to an ATM to withdraw cash. Food sucked. Service sucked. Don’t come here

Wow. From the reviews — got a lot of haters! I have to say that my waitress was very friendly and seated me quickly. She even took my order which was a huge step ahead of stupid Pearl Café down the street. The ambiance could use some spruce up — and food was just average. Not a great place and not the worst — it’s pretty solid in the middle.

This is the three-starriest place on Unilocal. The food, the service, the prices, the place itself… all utterly unremarkable. Go here. I guess. Or don’t. Whatever.

Thai Stick, I(and the rest of my family), just can’t quit you. A lot of reviews complain about the service, but we’ve level set our expectations based on the tasty food they serve. My family and I have gone here for a ton of things, off the top of my head… Mother’s Day, Husband’s B-day, ordered to go for my Mother-in-law’s birthday. Favorite items are: –Fried Taro: was avoiding it until a friend ordered it. A bit on the sweet side and good enough for dessert, even –Pla Sam Rod(Cod): We get this medium and it has an addicting tangy flavor –Angel Wings: Chicken isn’t the highest of quality, but the flavor profile is strong –Crab Fried Rice: crab and curry flavor are very present, a crowd pleaser –Salt & Pepper Prawns: if you love garlic and shrimp, you’ll love this dish, skin is crispy enough to eat –Roti with ice cream: I love the coconut ice cream, but the rest of my family ops for green tea ice cream Parking in the area can be tough, but patience is a virtue and there’s always the option of picking up or delivery. There’s a couple of TVs in the restaurant if you desperately need to watch a game over dinner. Siblings love the thai iced tea and I’m a bigger fan of the hot tea. They’re open later than most restaurants, so it’s a great late night option.

Thai Stick is decent Thai food. It’s not the greatest I’ve ever had, but it’s decent. I got the Pad Thai with shrimp, and my friends ordered the BBQ chicken over rice and the Pad See Ew with beef. The Pad Thai was good, but it did not taste very much like Pad Thai. I think that the noodles were cooked well and the dish was flavorful, but it did not have the peanuty, sweet taste that Pad Thai should have. Would still recommend though, as a decent noodle dish. The Pad See Ew was decent as well, as was the BBQ over fried rice. Tip: If you really like fried rice and have a big appetite, you can get a fried rice dish(like BBQ over fried rice) and then order fried rice as a side. This essentially gets you two whole orders of fried rice for the additional price of just one side. They are quite generous with their side portions.

Upon walking in, I was not a fan of the outdated décor and overall ambiance of the place. We were greeted and seated upon walking in, but it took the waitress awhile to come back to see what we wanted to drink. My friend ordered a coconut soup off the menu and I ordered the thai curry udon special. It is family style so each dish is enough for at least two. The food was very good, and appropriate spiciness according to what we asked for. The real bummer was the extremely slow service. It felt like an eternity for the waitress to come back once we were done with our meals and she did not check in once while we were eating. By the time, we wanted the check, we had a different waitress, but there really is no justifying the delayed service as the place was practically empty. Good food, awkward ambiance, inattentive service.

If I were basing this review solely on their food, I would say 3 stars. But the fourth star comes from the fact that they are very friendly, they deliver and are also open til 1am which is a rarity for Millbrae. I recommend Stuffed Chicken Wings, Fried Taro, Fried Tofu, Tom Yum Soup, Angel Wings, Yellow or Pumpkin Curry, BBQ Chicken Over Fried Rice and See Ewe Noodles. All of these items I have ordered consistently and have never been let down by. It isn’t the most authentic Thai food but close enough. Pros: Open late, friendly staff, consistent food, delivery Cons: Not as authentic as some might want Bottom line: Consistent Thai food, open late, delivers and has good Thai desserts.
