Came in here looking for Christmas cards at around 5:30pm. Around 5:50 the lady told me the store was closing and turned off all the lights. I walked out and went to the Walgreens down the block. Around 6:20 I walked by to get back to my car and the store was open again with the lights turned on and customers in the store. So thank you hallmark for kicking me out during the«happiest time of the year.» Maybe you should reevaluate your staff members.(Substitute«reevaluate» to whatever verb seems fit for lost sales).

Was just at the store, and the sales clerks were SO nice, checking often to see if I needed assistance finding ornaments, checking with other staff if they were not sure of where something was, and even phoned the manager to check on an item they couldn’t find. Yes, I was disappointed that this Hallmark store did not carry the advertised item, but the kindness of the clerks MORE than made up for it. Just great to work with, efficient and friendly! Love to shop here, a great store to visit and browse in !!!

I had a great experience here yesterday. I stopped by just as they were closing. Bummed, I asked the lady minding the front door«Do you have any angels that light up?»(I only had a vague idea what *I* meant by that. and wasn’t at all sure what *she* would make of it). I said I didn’t need to bust in as they were closing, just wanted to know if I’d have to return on another day(since I live further away than a casual drop-in would permit). Nice lady at the door asked her boss, who said to let the lady at the door inside to see what they had. So I got inside, spotted something really cute — not at ALL what I had in mind, but really nice for little Christmas gifts — and bought three of them. Nobody cranky here, nobody officious. Just very friendly and happy to help a shopper who’d arrived a little under the wire before Christmas. Thanks, ladies. I’ll be back the next time I need cards, gifty things and the stuff that Hallmark stores do well.

I try to live by the olé mom expression«if you don’t have something nice to say don’t say anything.» However, here I have to make a constructive comment in hopes that they(Hallmark in Millbrae) listen to their customers via Unilocal. Was there this past weekend buying holiday cards and my 5 year old child declared a «pee» emergency. Those with children at this age know that most kids give you a minute or less warning before the floor is wet. Ran up to the front and explained the situation expecting the owner(assumption made here) to take out a key and open up the employee bathroom. Nope. With a cold expression we were told«Go to Trader Joe’s or Kole’s, they have bathrooms.» Really!!! I don’t expect non restaurant business to offer the general public their bathrooms but a 5 year old??? My only comfort is knowing that someday if that owner/employee has children I know their child will pee on the floor of another store and they will probably remember my Unilocal comments. I gave them a bonus star because they really do have nice cards and all kinds of other little things for the house.

I’m one of those people that likes to give funny cards during every occasion. This is the store I go to for those. I’ve never seen the same card twice here which makes card shopping so much easier. A wide variety of cards to choose from with a wide variety of occasions I’ve never heard of let alone buy a card for. They have a bunch of other figurines and decorative stuff, but I’m a guy and truthfully I don’t care about stuff like that.
