I wanted to add something to balance these other two reviews, as I have had children seeing doctors in this practice, both SF and Mill Valley for the past twenty years, and I think they are great. My daughter was a patient of Dr. Frazee’s until she ‘aged out’; and now my niece is and my nephew(10 now) has been a patient of Dr. Bernsten since he came to live with us 2+ years ago. Their office staff has always been helpful and polite and the advice nurse has actually been the same person(Liz) the last 10+ years and she is very responsive. My nephew was in the hospital for more than 10 days with a life threatening illness, and Dr. Bernsten was there almost every day and very kind and helpful. We both work full time and I find them pretty easy and flexible for appointments, for both routine and unexpected Matters. They quickly turn around camp and sports required paperwork as well as necessary specialist referrals(I have an in-network only plan). Yes, no email is a pain, but dealing with them on the phone has been fine. I have had to use the after hours care in the SF a few times and have found that works very well. Granted, It is in SF, but it is a pretty quick drive from Mill Valley.

I would agree with the statement on the other review. The doctors are all nice and mostly keep up with the latest trends but it’s clear that they are all close to retirement and don’t really care about keeping the place up or upgrading their systems. They don’t even have email(it’s 2014 people!). I also agree that the office staff is incredibly rude and unaccommodating. If we hadn’t started in their office in the city I would definitely consider moving to another practice.

While Dr Bernsten is a nice guy with a nice manner with the kids, I he is very old school. If this is what you are looking for, he’s your guy. But more importantly, this office is terrible. The help behind the desk is rude and unaccommodating when you are a busy mom trying to juggle lots of things. The hours are really limited, especially if your kids nap in the afternoon. And for another example, I mixed up the day of my appointment(which I still think was their mix up and not mine) and I got charged $ 100!($ 50 for each kid) With no warning and no advanced notice of this policy!
