Did my french shellac today(5 hours ago) And I was changing my clothes, one nail just came off. Really… 5 hours? I usually have my shellac for about 10 days. Very disappointed, because this was such a nice salon, very professional. Now I have to somehow repair it myself and find another salon.

Went here based on a friend of a friend. Nicely greeted and filled out the requested forms. Taken back at appointment time with Sandy. I needed a haircut desperately and wanted one to take care of the sad sad sad previous haircut I got someplace else and the color job I got someplace else which is horrible. Sandy listened and explained that my color job and split ends I was seeing in my hair were as a result of overprocessing. She was sorry but it would have to grow out(my hair is short) but she would do what she could. Shampoo, condition and then a restructuring product made my hair look almost NEW! Yeah! Sandy listened to what I wanted in a haircut, took her time, I asked if she uses a razor and she told me she does and it would be perfect for my thick hair(which it is as I’ve had razor cuts before but you simplly cannot find stylists who are decent at using a razor). I really liked the fact that someone was taking notes on what Sandy was doing to my hair, i.e., how she was cutting it and what she was cutting it with — a razor — so next time, hopefully, I will get the same cut. Who ever thought of THAT is genius! My haircut is far and away one of the best, if not THE best, haircut I have ever had. It perfectly fits my face, my lifestyle, and is a cute short cropped pixie. Exactly what I wanted. Personally, I don’t mind the tiered pricing because, after all, folks have to learn how to be good stylists and why wouldn’t you want to pay a little more for those that are the most experienced? I was there on a Wed. at 6:40 and the place was STILL hopping. They must be doing something right!

I was given a gift card to this salon and spa by my husband who went by reviews. It was a large giftcard and I already have a hair stylist so i wanted to use it for their other services they offer. I went in for a massage and the lady did a great job. But the environment was less then spa like. It was not relaxing and quite distracting and it wasnt as clean and zen as a spa room should be. So I decided not to use the rest of the gift card for another massage. So I decided to go in and buy product for my hair. I had about $ 90 left and wanted to use it up so I ask what their best product was and looked at the price so I bought a shampoo, conditioner and hairspray thinking I would have to pay maybe $ 10 extra. Well I was overcharged from the prices on the bottle and when I got to the car and looked at the bottles because my math didnt match, it looked like I was over charged by $ 30. So I walked back in and nicely said my receipt doesnt match the prices on the bottle. The woman at the front desk started yelling at the other 2 people working there and reprimanded them in front of me, taking my bag to show them one of the bottles was labeled wrong and how this is the 3rd time its happened. She was not happy to have to give me cash back and it made me feel very uncomfortable and like I had done something wrong. I will not go back there.

Am new to the area and was looking for a full service salon! Lorinda’s salon met all my expectations. Friendly staff — they have a team approach so I got to interact with a lot of the staff so I can tell you they all are great. Lisa gave me a great facial, Katie colored, Andy completed my blowout, and I had a mani/pedi with Angie. I remember everyone’s name because they were friendly and made me feel welcome — I was there for over 3 hours. Lorinda even brought me a snack. Lorinda’s provides a great customer experience. I have found my new salon!

I’m so thankful that I was referred to this hair salon and to Trisha my hair dresser. I had a bad hair dresser mess my hair up. My hair was dry and fried. I have been going to Lorrinda’s for a few months now. They have helped my hair become soft and not dry and it is now beautiful. So i finally came back, after 6 months of growing my hair out: not on purpose, but because BOTH stylists i formerly had at Lorinda’s disappeared, and also because i never seemed to have the spare cash to get my hair done again. Well, i got really bloody tired of having to wear my hair curly(its frustrating natural state) pigtails every day. I have a wedding to go to this weekend, also, and would look ridiculous with frizzy pigtails in formal attire I knew that finding another salon would be a frightening, almost-definitely-fatal experience that would further solidify my fear of getting my hair cut. So i decided to give Lorinda’s another shot, remembering how well they treated me in the past, and how patient they are with salonophobes who can never make up their minds. They booked me the same day I called(although in the amount of time it took for me to wait on hold, my hair had grown another inch), and set me up with a girl named Rachel. From the moment i walked in, from the desk girl to the other stylists, i was being greeted and smiled at. I was a little early, but Rachel took me in anyway. I instantly liked her. She was my 3rd stylist here, and all of them have been really good at finding that fine line between annoying unnecessary chitchat and stony, awkward silence. They have been good at establishing a comfortable, amicable relationship with their customers. Well, i was really struggling to explain what i wanted. I brought in celebrity photos for ideas, but of course, i am not Vanessa Hudgens and never will be… so Rachel had to find a way to manipulate my frizzy, curly hair into a style that was realistic. There was a lot of consultation and discussion, without a rushed feeling(under which i can NOT operate — i hate pressure!). I’ll cut this short for your sake. It took a LONG time, because we just kind of kept doing a little more and a little more as we went along, so that nothing drastic or irreversible was done. I felt comfortable piping up and saying, «No, not like that… ok, a little more here… see, i want this to poof out…» Not once did Rachel get short with me, or take it personally. I NEVER have felt comfortable involving myself in my haircuts like i have at Lorinda’s, and i’m glad all the stylists i’ve had have had the same interactive and patient quality. Rachel even let our appointment go over into a meeting she had with her boss! Maybe that was lucky for both of us. Oh, and during my styling, the receptionist(the cute red-head with the bob) sat down next to us to record what Rachel was doing, which is helpful for next time. And she brought me some coffee just the way i wanted it. At the end of my styling(and after allowing me to ask for«just one more thing» to fix), i got what i wanted. Well, actually, i still wasn’t sure if i wanted to go shorter or not. I needed to go home and see how it worked outside of the salon. Rachel agreed and invited me to come in for free touch-ups and bang trims whenever, taking the pressure off me to either get it all done THAT moment or book an entirely separate appointment(and more $$). The trim/styling(she straightened it for me, used some product, and everything) only set me back $ 49. I was offered the products she used, but was not pressured further when i said i didn’t have the funds at the moment. Oh, and after i got home, i realized how pleased i am with my hair. I posted before/after photos in the album here, so you can see for yourself. If you’ve got curly hair, Rachel(who is also a curly girl) is a safe bet. I can wear my hair curly or straight with this cut. She knows a lot of tips and tricks as well. *joy

I need to write this as I was laughing after I hang up. So it is 11:27 am today and I called for a haircut for my daughter and asked for the cost. I was thinking in Bellevue is about 25.00 so this place is in Mill Creek and it can’t be more than that. When I called she told me if you come at 520pm with I don’t remember her name will be 36.00. I said is too late. She says if you come with … at 330pm it will cost 29.00. I told her I was thnking something now(1130). She tells me if is with… it will be 43.00 at 1210 pm. As she is telling me this I am thinking why will they charge base in who is cutting the hair? I told her politely I will have to call you back. Give me a break! I went to another place had them give my 3 year old a bobby cut style and it was 13.00 including tax!

There has been an unexpected effort to improve customer service — and for that I’ll give one more star. I don’t yet know the outcome, but I’ll let you know. Business owners/managers apparently read Unilocal too.. .that’s a good thing because when people like me don’t speak up in person, then the business still knows something is up and can take moves to correct the situation. Great place, Crystal in particular(yes, I’m a regular there) but everyone seems good. Nice and airy after the remodel. Prices are pretty reasonable too, and they always have good discounts etc going.
