Teddy the bartender was fantastic! I ordered mashed potatoes with the sausage and mushroom gravy and it was deeeelicious! It’s always a great stop in downtown Milford.

Solid pub style restaurant. I’ve never had a problem with the food, the service has always been good, and they have a nice beer menu. A bunch of tvs around the top of the bar make for a good place to watch sporting events.

It’s a solid bar food option if in downtown Milford and on par with the other two Eli’s. If you’ve been to Eli’s on Whitney it’s not different enough to go out of your way to go here. I still have an issue with their burgers(although I guess my fault for continuing to get them). They are nearly always overly charred/overcooked and overwhelmed by the thick bread and toppings. Very good nachos, good beer selection, and overall decent atmosphere. In that area though, I still prefer Archies and Stonebridge.

Super friendly staff and good beer selection. The food at this location is only so-so. I recommend going with their apps – eggrolls or wings. I don’t recommend the burgers

Giving up on this place. They can’t seem to get their act together. I’m hoping Milford will eventually get something better than a basic pub that offers basic pub food and the same pedestrian beer selection. There are plenty of them around the green with not much else in the way of variety.

The bartenders are slobs with ties tucked into their shirts because they are forced to wear ties and lederhosen at this trying to be «trendy» bar which makes no sense with the décor. They are lazy, pay no attention to any customers and on top of it all have stains on their shirts. One was rubbing his ass crack in front of us. So gross. Woof

After a winter walk on the Silver Sands State Park boardwalk, my family and I enjoyed a lovely late lunch at Eli’s Tavern today. The Fall Sangria was out-of-this-world good; if I had to drink one drink for the rest of my life, this sangria might be on my short list. Our appetizers were delicious: We chose the Philly cheesesteak egg rolls, the roasted Brussels sprouts, and the calamari, and all three were a home-run and are highly recommended. Their selection of salads, sandwiches, and entrees was unique, creative, and offered plenty of options. All was reasonably priced, too. The environment was warm and inviting with a «refined rustic» décor. Aside from having to wait a bit for our cocktails, the waitstaff was attentive and informed about the menu. If you want to go to the bar with a few friends to watch a sports game, or if you want a delicious meal with family or friends, Eli’s would deliver! I look forward to going again and would recommend it to those visiting Milford.

It was so easy to work with Eli’s Tavern to plan our rehearsal dinner. They gave us a few menus to look at and let us customize it to what we wanted/needed. My husband and I are vegan so we needed a vegan option for dinner — the house made veggies burger with coconut cheese was PERFECT! Everyone else loved their meals too, of course. Our menu offered salmon, chicken, and a beef burger too. We chose the option of having an open bar. Service took a little while but the staff was very nice, friendly, and let us take our time coming and going.

The food is excellent and different from the other Eli’s I’ve been to. I would recommend the fish tacos, the tuna steak, and the short rib gnocchi dish is excellent. The atmosphere is great, good beer selection & drink menu and I’ve only had great service. Definitely check it out if you are in the area.

Very consistent bar food. Which is to say this isn’t fine dining by any means, but is solid for what it is. Burgers are very good. Great beer list with craft brews, with a few locals mixed in. A pretty reliable local bar, and they did a great job with the space. Even as I lament at the loss of local music in Milford. Service at the bar tends to be better than at the tables, but have never had a terrible experience. Avoid after 10 on weekends unless you want to hang out with 20 year olds and blaring unce unce music.

Went the other night wit my girl friend for a new edition to our«fry tour» we’ve been working on since probably late spring. The parmesan truffle fries were very good matched w a garlic aioli. For dinner we both got salads which we enjoyed but the service wasn’t particularly there this night. I see it more as a spot to grab some drinks with some friends and I think I’ll keep that in mind when choosing our next dinner location.

Great new place in Milford! Food is always awesome. Their beer selection is great and it’s a perfect low key spot to watch football. We sit at the bar and are always promptly greeted and well taken care of! Great job guys!

I’ll preface this by saying that I’m a fan. Eli’s has a great environment — it’s nicely decorated inside, it provides an intimate setting, and there are a bunch of different seating options to accommodate any group or preference. The drink menu is excellent and you have a large selection to choose from, whether it’s mixed drinks or beer or whatever else you seek. I’d say it’s one of the nicer places in the area to meet with friends. My review gets hung up on the service and the food. Service at the bar is great but at the tables I find myself asking for the check on most occasions. On my most recent visit, it took me 75 minutes to get out and we only ordered entrees and drinks. I hit a home run on the Short Rib Grilled Cheese(pictured) this last visit but a lot of the other items sound better than they taste. I appreciate that oysters are always available. I still like coming here more than most places downtown and hope they are able to get zoning for an outdoor area.

Well I would love to rate this place higher but our service was awful. Had I been alone I would have walked out after waiting 15 minutes to have our drink order taken that was our water drink order not even our alcohol. There was a manager there but she seemed to just not care. There appeared to be only 1 server for the restaurant and she was new. We sat down and she said she would be back with menus. 15 minutes later she finally returned. Our drinks took another 10 minutes. 25 minutes passed before we could even order. Finally ordered and the food took another chuck of time. We were never given a refill of waters until halfway through dinner. The food I can’t really rate because I was so irritated wirh the whole thing. I am glad I was not the one paying.

This is the second Eli’s location i’ve been to, and while I’m a big fan of the original location in Hamden, this one — I wasn’t so much. While the drinks and service were excellent(Try the Bloody B.L.T., it actually comes with a sandwich), I found the food to be just… Meh. We started off with the asian style calamari, and while it was tasty, it was a smaller portion of calamari, in my opinion. I had the entrée portion of the Ahi Tuna, which was served with a side of couscous and a salad. The tuna was okay, but certainly not the best I’ve had in the area. The salad and couscous, on the other hand, just didn’t go well. I’d give this Eli’s a try again, but most likely stick to a solid drink and sandwich.

Awesome surprise in Milford! Our group comes by boat annually and we were happy to see a new restaurant in town. Our group had the Asian style calamari app with an off the charts Thai sauce. Let me just say this place knows how to do «hot» right– all items with a kick had one that was strong and flavorful. The Sweet Potato Bravas(sautéed sweet potatoes in honey, jalapeños and scallions, sprinkled with goat cheese and topped with crispy potato curls) was also strong but an amazing combination of flavors and textures. The pulled pork quesadillas were very good but not an exciting as the other appetizers and came with a store bought guacamole. Wings were tasty but well done. The entrees were delicious– lobster mac and cheese, Jack and Mac(pepper jack cheese macaroni and cheese dish with pulled pork), the seared Ahi tuna and some of the best burgers ever tasted(sided with hand cut fries and a hollandaise dipping sauce) The big surprise was the bill. Despite dining with people who enjoy a plethora of alcoholic beverages from a waitress who ever let us want for anything, the bill came to $ 235 for 5 entrees and 5 apps and a dump load of drinks. Dinner was last night, I’m writing this the next morning and DH already wants to have lunch there today. They were quick to seat and the décor is great. Definitely check it out before word gets out.

Some of you may have seen my review of the other restaurants in the Eli’s restaurant group. I was hopeful that a newer location would be free of the problems and dined here with my girlfriend for a going away party for one of her friends. First I have to say that the atmosphere was great! Very nice feel to the place and somewhere I would like to spend time if it weren’t for the level of noise. Service here was much better than it was in Hamden. Courteous, prompt, and attentive. And now for the bad… The food has no flavor. Nothing. The fried chicken entrée that I ordered had only texture in the mashed potatoes and the chicken and the vegetables were the only things on the plate that had taste. I was wishing for Popeyes friend chicken and mashed potatoes after this meal! My girlfriend had the Mac & Jack with 4 cheeses and pulled pork tossed with orecchiette pasta but a box of Kraft Mac and Cheese had more flavor to it. I’ve had the Mac & Jack before at their Hamden location and I found that at least then and there it had flavor. This also had next to nothing to flavor. Adding insult to injury, when the waitress refilled my Sierra Mist, the syrup ran out! I won’t be returning to Eli’s again in the near future. Maybe if there is another once in a lifetime going away party that happens to be here but I will make sure I eat before I go.

Good bar food and great beer selection. I’m not a fan of their wings(Archie Moore’s is way better) but the burgers, fries, flat breads, and mac and cheese are tasty. Similar to Plan B in terms of the quality of the food. I have eaten here with large groups on a couple occasions, and we were able to get a table more quickly than most places around. Great location right in the center of downtown. On weekend nights, they have a DJ, and it gets pretty packed.

Eli’s Tavern in Milford has a different menu theme than the other Eli’s. It’s not too bad. The Philly Cheesesteak Egg Rolls are a good starter. I also had the Fish Tacos. Their’s are made with Cod. They’re pretty good, although I prefer them with Flounder or Tuna. The service was good. The décor was well done. The food was good but not impressive enough to warrant a repeat visit. There are simply too many other better options within walking distance.

Having grown up in Hamden and been to the original Eli’s and EBOP more times then I can even count, I was super excited when I heard they were coming to Milford! We went on a Friday night and it was the perfect amount of crowded; a good atmosphere but not unbearably packed. When we walked in, there were some people standing around the hostess station so we patiently waited behind them. Turns out they were just socializing with a waitress there which I thought was a little unprofessional. We had to practically step over them to get the hostess’s attention to seat us. Once seated, it was nice to see that the menu had a lot of the familiar favorites and some other different items as well. We started off with the Philly egg rolls which are by far my favorite Eli’s dish. Here they were just as delicious as always. My friend and I then ordered the signature salad and avocado salad. Her avocado salad was a little skimpy on the avocado but good overall. My signature salad was anything but signature. While the portion was large, the salad had only about a teaspoon of Gorgonzola on the top and not enough dressing to even cover the whole salad. I wanted to ask the waitress for more of both but we never saw her again after we got our food. Then, while we were leaving there was a group again socializing around the hostess station with the staff and one almost hit my friend in the face clearly not paying attention to their surroundings. This place unfortunately doesn’t live up to the usual Eli’s standards for food and service but still nice to have an addition to the bar scene in Milford.
