Big A Pizza

I was a fan but the phone number is no good anymore and no information if they moved, so they must have gone out of business. To bad we don’t have any good pizza delivery places in Milford anymore, and no Domino’s is not pizza it’s cardboard slapped with tomato sauce.

Big A’s is the best sub shop/​pizzeria in milford and the surrounding areas. I have been coming here for 5 years and the food is consistently delicious. The two guys who run this shop are always professional and friendly and the food is always ready when they say it will be.
I am somewhat of a sub fanatic and there chicken parm and steak and cheese subs are the best around.
Give this place a shot, they will not let you down

I called and ordered a chicken caesar wrap and a large pepperoni pizza. I got a soggy over sauced wrap and a large cheese pizza that looked as though it had been sitting out and never sold, so they boxed it up and delivered it. When I called back to tell them that I got a cheese pizza when I ordered pepperoni (I never get cheese pizza, ever) the guy was rude and tried to tell me that I ordered a cheese pizza. He interrupted me to tell me what I ordered. I’m sorry, but what? Even if I HAD ordered a cheese pizza, which I definitely did not, what kind of place talks back to the person who is a patron at your place of business. Needless to say, I will never go or order from there again.

I wrote a review back in 2011 for this place… It was not good. I didn’t think i’d go back again. But i have as of recent. The pizza nowadays is better. I don’ t know if someone was just «off» that day or what. but in 2011 it wasn’t good. Now, its pretty good! Thin but not too thin, which is perfect. Tasty cheese and sauce. They have slices. which is always nice too. Hope they keep it up!

We continue to send a lot of business to Big A. We get take out and delivery and are partial to the white/​bianco pizza which is very garlicky in the best possible way. Other favorites: spinach and feta calzone, buffalo wings, New Yorker pizza, loaded fries. The service continues to be quick and could not be friendlier. We never visit any other pizza places in Milford anymore – would rather keep supporting this small business.

Big A’s offers very good food at reasonable prices, plain and simple it’s a great place.

Big A Pizza is located in a small Cumby’s strip plaza (with gas pumps). The place serves up thin crust pizza by the slice (during lunch hours) and pie (12″ and 16″). Besides pizza, the offerings include calzones (with ricotta), fried foods, hot & cold subs, burgers, salads, pasta, fried chicken, and fried seafood (haddock, scallops, shrimp). The prices here are reasonable, most individual items (except seafood) under $ 10. The place is order at the counter with an open kitchen and self serve table/​booth seating for eating in.
I’ve stopped in here a few times for lunch and ordered cheese pizza slices ($ 2 each), which were quickly reheated in the oven and served. The pizza here is good, which is thin crust from center to the edges, close to NY style. The owner who works the kitchen and counter is very friendly.
On my recent visit, I ordered an Eggplant Parmesan Dinner over Ziti ($ 8.25 total) baked in a round aluminum container and served with baked garlic bread. The good sized portion had plenty of al dente ziti topped with a decent tomato sauce and round «breaded eggplants» and topped with melted cheese. The «breaded eggplants» however were mostly thick and very soft breading and where was the eggplant goodness? The buttered garlic bread (split sub roll) was good for dipping the sauce.
There were more the plenty of carbs in this bread and pasta meal. It was off to the gym afterwards! On my next visit, I’ll stick with the pizza, which is pretty consistent.
