Nom nom. A definite new lunch favorite for me in the area. The gyro meat was a little dry and the pita bread in my sandwich was pretty thick, but I’m willing to overlook those for the general lack of Greek food in the area. I got a combo plate with lemon rice, a side salad, and a gyro sandwich. The lemon rice was tender, but jeez was it lemony. It was overpowering. And soaking wet with sauce? IDK. Good, but a little much. The side salad was yummy, but didn’t have any dressing on it. It tasted fine with the tomatoes, feta, and onion though. And again, the gyro sandwich wasn’t bad, just dry. I plan on trying the full salad in hopes that it is a little better.

I consider myself a seasoned vet when it comes to Greek food. You say it, I’ve tried it. And I am here to tell you, it is refreshing to find an establishment that serves Greek food that ties the modern feel, service & quality ingredients together. I went with the chicken gyro and double rice. The fresh ingredients make an especially big difference in comparison to other Greek places. I am very excited to get back there and try the other options they offer!

Fantastic Greek food! Fast, fresh and easy. Never a line and large amounts of food. Set up like a Chipotle where you get to pick your proteins, get it as a plate, salad or Gyro. Lemon rice is incredible and the roasted veggies are so good.

Great food, large portions and healthy. Love the choice of meats and sides. The red pepper sauce is spicy and sooo good. Highly recommend giving this place a try. You won’t be disappointed!

To be fair: I am an extremely picky eater. I am very particular about how my food is prepared and what goes into my food. GR Kitchen is not only accommodating to my picky taste buds, but their food is amazing! I have been to GR kitchen 9−10x in the last few months. This place has successfully turned me into a Greek food junkie… and I’m ok with it! The food: Classic gyro: onions, tomatoes, feta, lamb and Tzatziki sauce. The gyro artist first grills the pita bread on the flat top before loading it with slow roasted meats and mouth watering toppings. The lamb is lean and cooked to perfection. Lemon rice: A thick creamy rice, that is spiced perfectly with lemon and spices. A great offset to the saltiness from the feta in the gyro. Value: The prices are fair for the quality and amount of food that you get. Complaint: My only complaint would be that the service is very hit or miss. Customer service can be great if you get the right person. I have received bad service 2 – 3 times since I started eating it… I’m hoping they were just flukes. Although, it has made me think twice about coming back. So, minus 1 star for service. All in all, I would definitely recommend this restaurant to anyone in the area. 4 ****

Same idea as Chipotle but with Greek food. Bowl or pita, pick a protein, pick toppings, etc. I just matched a normal gyro style meal as a way to compare with other placed I know. Really a top notch meal, and at a great price point. The person working the counter pointed me toward the greek kale salad, which was a super choice. Décor was basic cafeteria, but the staff was super nice and I think they’ve hit a really good quality/value balance.

Is this place a 5 star restaurant? Eh, probably not but its a good plate of food for a reasonable price. Also, I saw someone call GR Kitchen«the chipotle of greek food.» Yeah, lets get things straight. Chipotle is gross(and I think recent media reports can confirm this) and GR Kitchen is good, so no this is not the chipotle of anything. The restaurant is clean and modern and the wait staff are very helpful. I got the couscous and was underwhelmed. However, the kale salad was very tasty as was the lemon rice pilaf. If I lived closer this would probably be more of a regular spot but its damn near in Sandy, so it will probably be a once in a while spot.

Very grateful to Unilocal reviews for help finding my new favorite Greek restaurant in Salt Lake.(More like Sandy/Midvale, but close enough(though just barely close enough)). It’s nothing super fancy, just seasoned & braised meets, with lemon rice pilaf, and very well made salads and other sides to go along with each entrée. A normal plate(protein + rice + 2 sides) = $ 9.99. As other reviewers have noted, they make it very easy to pick gluten free options(most of the food is safe), and that fact is a significant part of why we drove to 7700 South for food. Great food & can’t wait to try it again!

Sandy, UT: OH. MY. GREEK. You know when you step into a restaurant and you just think, «Imma gonna like this place?» This is that place. From the moment you walk into the chic interior that is GR Kitchen, your senses are tingling with the delicious smells and sights of modern Greek yumminess. The prices are fabulous — nothing on the menu is more than $ 9.95. I ordered the«plate» which comes with one protein, grain, two sides, AND pita. The best part of their proteins is that you can order the vegetarian friendly falafel(which is kind of the best thing since the Greeks invented democracy). I came in a group of four and all of us scarfed down our respective meals within MINUTES. Honestly, it doesn’t matter whether you like lamb or chicken or gyros or falafel, you’re going to love this place just as much as I love their STUPENDOUS pita bread. As Hades would say, I give this place«two thumbs way, way up.»

Finally, a place where I can get good falafels without going all the way to O’Falafel in Sugarhouse! I really like the way it’s setup, like Café Rio where you can pick your sides and protein. I know it can be a bit confusing/overwhelming when you first walk in but just take your time to read the menu before ordering! I got the falafels sandwich in pita bread with salad and rice as sides. So yummy! The falafels texture was a bit different than what I’ve tried other places(good different!), chunkier and fuller than other falafels, and not at all pasty. Prices were average. Parking is great, lots of places on that corner, a bit away from the movie theather, and the place can be easily accessed from 1300 E. Something to keep in mind is, one time they had run out of falafels. They said it’s really not very often that it happens, and that was around when they opened so I’m not too worried about it. I still like to call ahead just to make sure they have falafels because it would be sad if I go and they don’t have it :( I’m a fan and I recommend this place!

Simple concept with excellent execution. This Greek fast food joint puts Greek Souvlaki to shame. You have a choice of making your meal a plate, a gyro, or a salad with your choice of proteins and toppings. I had the classic gyro with the Tzadziki sauce and the spit fire gyro with the Kafteri sauce. Both tasted great. Very flavorful. Love that they have some beer on the menu also.

I like this place a lot and have eaten here a good bit lately. I love the fact that I can dial in how healthy I can eat. There are some solid options for all diet types. Food portions are good so you get your money’s worth. The staff is always on point too. I usually get the the chicken, rice hummus and veggies. This is enough food to last me until very late in the day.

You guys. This place. Imagine a Greek Chipotle. You pick if you want a gyro, salad or plate then pick your meat, toppings, sides, etc. Everything was super flavorful. It was one of the best salads I’ve had in a long time. They’ve been open for just over a month and I’m pretty sure this is the first location and I hope it expands stat(aka they open one in Sugar House).

5 stars well deserved! If every dining experience was like this the world would be a different place. This was a dinner we will remember, and repeat. Fantastic, fragrant baklava too! We just built a restaurant this year in Utah County and know how much work this is. Congrats GR Kitchen!

Yero(lamb) was tasty… wasn’t full authentic with store bought pita and meat off the spit in a warming tray. Logistics may not allow more authentic fresh meat off the spit like the street style I’m use too in many parts of the world. They had the olives, tomatoes, feta, arugula, &2 sauces(½ more traditional cucumber yogurt + ½ spicy mystery which was fine). I ordered two sides; salad with most the available toppings & lemon rice. Solid 4 stars. 5 stars is give me a real Greek kitchen style. Cheers.

Oh, my. The first bite of their pita sandwich made me moan. Really. The bread was so fresh and lightly buttered. The felafel balls tasted baked, not fried, and had whole black beans. The tzatziki sauce had the right amount of zip from Greek yogurt and cucumbers. I liked their vinaigrette dressing. The hummus had lots of lemon flavor; same with the rice. Had to try their baklava which didn’t disappoint – it was dripping with honey, packed with nuts and spices, and wrapped in light pastry. My husband had a Greek salad with spit-fired pork and grilled veggies(squash, broccoli, zucchini, tomatoes, etc.). They have chicken, gyro or souvlaki for protein. Other sides include couscous, slaw, quinoa and marinated veggies. Supposedly they have a yogurt dessert bar which I didn’t see. Employees were friendly. Service was fast. Everything was under $ 10. They only had tables – I prefer booths. I would maybe knock them down half a star for the funky disco music. New age relaxing tunes would be better.

So glad to have found this place on Unilocal,I drive by this restaurant every single day and never noticed it by the movie theater. Love the selection of meats, sauces, accompaniments. My favorite part was the Feta cheese on my Gyro’s. The red pepper sauce and the Tzadziki were so awesome. Meat was cooked just right so it was tender and juicy. Menu is simple and awesome. Can’t wait to go back!

We’ve been watching the sign and waiting for them to open. They opened on Monday. Lovely interior, and lots of fresh really tasty food. I had the pork gyro which was amazing and the owner told me pork is what he grew up with and didn’t see lamb till he came to the States. You could eat vegan, vegetarian, with your omnivore friends. Friendly Greek young guy owns it.

One word: yummy! This place just opened and it was packed for lunch. I tried the plate which included one protein, one grain, 2 sides and pita bread. I couldn’t decide between the spit-fired chicken or the gyro meat so I asked if I could do both as a combo and they were good with that. I think every good Greek restaurant should have a combo on their menu but the fact they gave it to me upon asking is just as good. I chose rice for my grain and roasted veggies and couscous for my sides. I topped it all with cheese and the white sauce(don’t know the name of it), grabbed my water and dove in. The chicken is tender, juicy and flavorful. The gyro meat on par with other places(which is good). The rice and veggies were tasty and the water tastes like, well, water ha hah. I highly recommend you try this place as the food is good, the service is quick and the prices are reasonable. See my photos for reference. Enjoy!
