Love this place! I got the brisket with cole slaw and potato salad. The brisket one so good! A great smokey flavor and the BBQ sauce was sweet to balance it out! Potato salad was great! I wasn’t a fan of the cole slaw bc it wasn’t too sweet but my fiancé loved it! Definitely a hole in the wall place and kind of warm on a summer day but it was totally worth it! I would definitely recommend!

We stopped in here on Sunday May the 8th right at closing time. We did not realize that until we arrived The wife goes in and orders 4 sliced beef sandwiches to go There was only a couple of people there and sure they had already been served as they came out shortly after we arrived The wife was gone so long I started to worry that something had happened to her. well over 20 closer to 30 minutes to get 4 sandwiches and no one in front of her The cost of the sandwiches was 29.00 plus some few cents We get home and open them up and was I surprised there was 4 thin slices of meat on each sandwich and did not even cover all of the bun. The bun felt doughy as if it had not been cooked long enough The meat what there was it did have a good taste and very good. The BBQ sauce was kind o sweet and not to my liking We gave it a try but at those prices and no more than you get we will not be back We can drive to Cleburne and eat all you can eat BBQ for less money and have side orders as well

Love the brisket and the BBQ sauce is sweet and spicy! So what if the bathroom looks like a personal space. The food is delicious and the service is very hospitable. I’ll be coming back!

Read great reviews about the BBQ joint in its old location. Figured that reputation would carry over. I don’t believe it did. From the get go, it was a poor customer experience. There’s a menu on the wall but taped over it are paper menus with higher prices. The wall menu tells you how many sides you get with a meat plate but the new menus the cashier handed me did not. It’s a guess if it’s even the same. We ordered and then the real circus began. Several times the line cooks had to ask out loud in a raised voice what was ordered. Two plates, one sliced with green beans and slaw, one with chopped with potato salad and green beans. Even I can remember that now. We were the only ones ordering at the time to. When we got there about 5pm, there were two other gentleman eating. So busy isn’t an excuse. This should have been our sign to leave. The main chef who may have been the only employee of 3 – 4 who knew what was going on just stood at the pass repeating everything multiple times. The chef figured out the total and told it to the cashier. Why? Who knows. The cashier has one job and couldn’t do it. Then I gave them my credit card. They have to manually type all they information into a several year old electronic tablet. They had to do it 3 times to go through. Each time they had to ask for my zip code. With that out of the way, we sat down and waited for our food. It came out quickly. It was cool to warm, definitely not even warm like it had been under heat lamps. I ordered sweet tea, date ordered tap water. They even clarified tap over bottle. Good thing we didn’t pay for bottled water cause thats what they gave her anyway. My «sweet» tea was regular tea brought out with a side of sugar. So I can regulate how sweet it was. What I got was a full cup of ice with about 5 ounces of tea. So much ice I couldn’t even stir in the sugar. Tea wasn’t even good to boot. The bathroom is very dirty. One single sex one holer that hasn’t been wiped down in weeks. There’s always the shower though if you feel that dirty in there. I was just glad they had soap and I’m a male. Notice in most of this there isn’t much talk about food other than the temperature. That’s because it’s unremarkable. Chopped beef was ok but nothing I’d go out of my way to get again. In fact, I wouldn’t go back or recommend this place. I only give one star if I would never go back even if it was the only open restaurant for a hundred miles. It’s not that bad but if you go, expect to be disappointed. I wrote a long review to justify such a low rating. Maybe they’ll even read it and improve things? We overheard what we thought was the cashier talking about the new owner moving the restaurant. Maybe that explains the differences in reviews from the old location to the new one.
