The Carriage House Inn, an Ascend Hotel Collection Member

I stayed here over the holiday weekend. In my opinion, it was just adequate. Especially for the price (which was likely inflated for the Fourth).
Breakfast consisted of store-​bought bagels and pastries, cereal, hardboiled eggs, yogurt, tea and coffee. Nothing special, but better than nothing.
Our room was clean, quiet, and sufficiently large. We had a fridge, microwave and hairdryer that seemed outdated. The handle on the hairdryer was oddly sticky. We didn’t use the tv, but it was there as advertised.
My biggest complaint is that we reserved (and paid for) a room with two queens, but we got a room with two doubles. In addition to being smaller than I’m used to, the bed was uncomfortable. I didn’t talk to any of the staff about the situation because I knew that they were fully booked for the weekend and there was nothing they could do, but suffice it to say I was disappointed.
All in all, I wouldn’t necessarily recommend this place to my friends, but I would come back if I couldn’t find anywhere else to stay at a comparable price.

My daughter was doing a multi-​cultural stayover at URI and I needed to stay overnight to meet her the next day. I found the hotel on Orbitz and since I had Orbitz bucks I chose to stay here. The room was large with a king size bed. The room was spotless! The shower was hot and plentiful! There was coffee made in the downstairs dining room for you to help yourself all day. It is a beautiful bed and breakfast… The only thing i wish was that they had real milk or cream for the coffee all day not just at breakfast. (i don’t care for coffee mate). thats my only complaint. will definitely be staying here again!!!

Just stayed here for the second time. Still just as impressed. The breakfast was toned down a little this time (no microwaveable sandwiches) but that is no problem because Ma’s Donuts is a 2 minute drive away and they have AWESOME quick breakfasts.
We stayed three nights and it was wonderful and relaxing. Nice little In-​state getaway. Couldn’t ask for anything more!

This was a beautiful Bed & Breakfast like motel. Only offering 15 rooms, and a wonderful desk service. The attendants in the Motel, were helpful, courteous, and accommodating. Just what you want when walking into a motel. I must add the the prices were extremely reasonable especially for an event weekend and Valentines Day weekend. The motel was very clean, the room was oversized, with a large spacious bathroom. This was a wonderful stay in a cozy Motel!

We stayed at the Carriage House for four nights and had an awesome stay! The staff was all very friendly and helpful. Alec was especially pleasant and helpful. The room was a good size and had a comfortable bed. It was very clean. It is close to Newport and highways. I would definitely stay here again next time I’m in the area. It had lots of New England charm.

This place was perfect for a long weekend to visit the Newport Mansions. We stayed in a smallish king bed room, equipped with excellent a/​c and a refrigerator, microwave, and coffee maker. The continental breakfast was fine (hard boiled eggs is a nice touch) and the front desk staff was very friendly and provided good restaurant recommendations. Easy drive to Newport, and «restaurant row» on Broadway, where we found a cute new place Caleb and Broad.

Very clean and well-​maintained. This is the friendliest hotel service I’ve ever had! We had a great stay!

The appearance on the outside is very homey. We stayed in a king sized bed room which was on the smaller side but provided everything we needed. Clean rooms. The distance to all Newport attractions was wonderful! Great stay!
