We stayed in this bed & breakfast we found by «luck» as we were traveling with our dog and needed accommodating accommodation… The place is very clean, and far from noise. We walked from to Thames and back via BelleVue. Maybe not a walk for everyone, but it was nice… Most will need your car to go on Thames, as we did the following days, but who goes to Newport without a car? All areas are extremely easy to access: go down on Rhode Island and turn left on Memorial to go to the beach(es) or the Cliff Walk, turn right on Memorial to go to Thames, Bellevue to see the mansions(not our thing) or drive on Ocean Drive(and stop to see the sun set). The room was quiet, the king size bed was comfortable, and the amenities appropriate(we didn’t try the jacuzzi bath tub). It is quaint, and while an old house, the owners have keep it updated. The breakfasts were delicious. Everything was cooked perfectly, and their recipes for pancakes and French toasts are«divine». Recommend if you want a quiet, charming stay, with good breakfast.

Loved this place! It is home-y and cute! My room had a bath tub with jets and the owner was as sweet as can be. Absolutely beautiful and great for couples. Loved the décor! Great weekend in Newport!

We were staying here for a weekend trip. The owner was very friendly, the rooms were clean and the bed comfortable. What more can you ask for? A delicious homemade breakfast! The breakfast menu is traditional American, but the authentic home cooked food is miles better than what I have come to expect at diners. A very relaxing weekend overall!

We came to the Beech Tree for an off-season weekend getaway and it was perfect! We arrived very late on Friday night but Jeff was awake when we got there to give us a warm welcome. The Inn is beautiful and has a warm and cozy atmosphere right when you walk in — it immediately felt like home. Our room was very clean and had a king bed, gas fireplace and huge Jacuzzi. Despite the great amenities, though, we were most impressed by Jeff’s kindness toward us on Sunday morning. There had been a time change overnight and because of it we slept through Sunday AM breakfast(which was 8:30 — 9:30). Around 10AM as we were getting ready to go out and search for somewhere to grab a bite to eat, Jeff called our room wondering if we were coming down to eat and told us that he would hold the breakfast for us if we came down then. It was so unexpected and kind of him. We definitely want to return to the Inn again during the summer.

Where do I begin? This was our first time staying at a B&B and our first time in Rhode Island. From booking our room and until we left it was amazing! The inn is very charming. I loved the feel you got when you walked in, it was like«home». Jim checked us in, and was very welcoming and gave us a little tour. I was very impressed with our room. It was huge! A fire place, huge comfy king bed, jacuzzi and a deck! The room was exceptionally clean and decorated perfectly. Breakfast at the inn was wonderful. This is Inn is known for its big breakfasts! Get the French toast! We got served immediately and food came out fast and delicious. We got to know Jeff when we were having breakfast. Both Jim and Jeff were very attentive and were very helpful when we asked for directions. We weren’t at the Inn very long, only to sleep and eat. There was so much we wanted to see in Newport! This was truly a great experience. The Beech Tree Inn was just like home, and we will back for many years to come! Newport will hold a special place in my heart, we got engaged on our first night here!

Went in early June, it was a great getaway with the 2 dogs we had. Great accommodations, clean, good breakfast, and very close to Cliff Walk and other attractions in Newport. Theres a market right down the street as well, so if you forgot anything its pretty convenient. Everyone was friendly, and most of the other guests had dogs too!

really enjoyed our stay here! my wife and I brought our dog for 2 nights … super friendly, DELICIOUS breakfast(they even gave us EXTRA bacon for the puppy — so he obviously endorses this place as well.) Great option for a pet-friendly hotel in Newport for sure. Recommend!

Very nice bed & breakfast not far from the tourist draws in Newport. Breakfast was great, the team is very friendly, and they were very accommodating of our dog. We will definitely be back.

A wonderful, charming place! We visited off peak, in November, and the proprietor(James?) was kind and accommodating. Our room had a huge king bed, fireplace, jacuzzi, and porch. It was tastefully decorated and spacious. The home cooked breakfast was generous and delicious. The place felt so welcoming and relaxed, I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a romantic weekend getaway. It is a few minutes outside of the main area, so not as centrally located as some other B&B’s, but what’s a 5 minute drive? And the price was excellent!
