I bought a fresh turkey and it was off even though it said not expired. I was not sure so started cooking the bird and as it cooked it did not smell like a delicious cooking turkey, but off smelling. Called store they said nothing they could do about it. Bottom line they lost all my future business over $ 24 bucks. I don’t mind driving a few extra minutes for fresh food and good customer service at Wegmans.

Giant has typical grocery prices for the area. They have some sales, but for the most part buying the generic brand is cheaper. If you buy something on sale and are not a club card member, they will use a store card so you can still get the deal.
The only thing that this giant does not have going for it is it does not have the self service bulk nuts and dried fruits that others do.

Giant is pretty cheap compared to the supermarkets in NYC, but is that really saying much? Anyway, when I say cheap, I’m really referring to the TV dinners and the ice cream… and basically all the stuff that fits a college student’s dietary needs.
However, the fruits, vegetables, and meats are pretty expensive, which I find to be kind of ridiculous. But whatever, I deal with it because I have no car and the next decent supermarket (along with 99.9% of any other decent establishments) is probably NOT in Middletown.

Overall they have everything you need. But it seems like everytime I go they haven’t restocked their shelves. Especially by the dairy and refrigerator side of the store. But the produce they have is good. I guess its you’re average grocery store.

If it wasnt for some outrageously high prices, I would give it four stars but theres no justification for it. Produce is decent, they have a good selection of food overall. Staff is ok, nothing great. They do have a nice self service and deli/bakery/seafood section. If you need a late night stop, necessity or craving, this is the place– open 24 hours
