Such a disappointment. I read the reviews and friends recommended Fiore2. I was really looking forward to going here. Our waitress was very frumpy and seemed miserable. The bus boy was far more attentive and we are not needy customers. Ordered an appetizer and did not get it. The salads were small and drowned in salad dressing. We ordered the mushroom ravioli and chicken parm, both dishes were smothered in sauce. Mushroom ravioli had far too much gorgonzola and seemed to be not very well mixed in. Chicken parm was very soggy. The marinara sauce is flavorful but nothing special. Portions are large but that’s not important when you don’t enjoy what you’re eating. Grocery stores have better tasting desserts. Amicci, just down the street, is a far better choice for italian food and service is top notch. We had a gift certificate to Fiore and left the balance to the waitress… a 25% tip because we don’t want to go back. Such a bummer.

Definitely not a favorite and won’t go back. Waiter ignored us. Asked for a dozen clams on the half shell. Only got 6. Ordered pasta fajole soup. He never came with the cheese. Took him forever to come back and take our dinner order. Very small portions for the money. Garlic knots were definitely the highlight and bread wasn’t refilled. Salads were tiny with 2 cherry tomatoes and 2 small slices of cucumbers. I think I found 1 Olive in there also. The bill was outrageous. Sadly I felt the waiter added another drink charge to the bill thinking I wouldn’t notice. I did. He attempted to overcharge me by $ 9.00. I’m spoiled by Joey garlics. The food just wasn’t anything special at all and flavor and portion size didn’t justify the tab.

I’ve been a Fiore fan for years and their dining experience is a solid 4, with great service, reason prices, consistent preparation and delicious execution. If I had one small criticism, it would be that I often feel my meal is rushed. Frankly I’d prefer that to always waiting for the next course but we are often out in under an hour. I highly recommend the veal dishes as the quality as their veal is superb. My favorite entrée is the veal genovese, scallops of thinly slice veal, tomato, eggplant and a thin layer of melted mozzarella bathed in a deliciously decadent pesto cream sauce. A small side salad accompanies the meal and as many have mentioned, their delicious garlic knots. My husband has tried several other veal offerings such as the fiore, montebianco and Marsala all prepared well with excellent sauces. His current favorite is sole francaise. A side of pasta is available upon request. Seating is available as booths or tables and there is a small bar. Weekend evenings can be very busy but the line moves along fairly quickly. Seasonally there is a small covered area for outdoor dining which can be enjoyable on a perfect summer evening. Middletown has a multitude of dining options and I find Fiore to be a solid and consistently enjoyable offering

Accolades«Again» because it’s all about consistency and service and quality. Revisited today and enjoyed the same dishes as last time and all was excellent. Different waitperson, but the same caring, professionalism, and skills. Food and service are great and«Lunch» values are amazing. A «MUST» go to.

we were there with another couple just recently and had a terrible time. Our meals came cold and when we asked to be reheated were retuned not edible. We were told that the meals were not microwaved. The manager was NOT apologetic.

This place is very good, you can sit outside also. I had the tortolini which was amazing and cooked perfectly. There are no words for the garlic knots other than can I have another basket please?!

Thanks to my son and his girlfriend for taking my wife and me to Fiores Saturday night. Luckily we got there in time to get a table right away. Had excellent service from Susana and Maima. Wine was very nice and brought to our table quickly. The knots were a different way of making a roll and were tasty with the graded cheese. My scollops and shrimp with the red sauce was great. The dinner was a nice portion and thought there would be more than enough to take home, but the meal was so good I cleared my plate instead. I would say the facility is nice but noisy. They might want to look into some hanging baffles from the ceiling. A little music would be good as well. The best part was my son buying dinner!

First timers here– place was busy but only waited a few minutes to get seated on a friday night. The garlic knots as everyone said are amazing. we went through 2 bowls embarrassingly(they give you a lot). We ordered clams on the half shell as appetizer for 8 dollars you get 6 small clams. They tasted good just small. Entrees come with a house salad and house dressing was ok. I ordered the chicken Fiori with lobster. It was what i expected and good. I’m picky with vodka sauce and this one was good(not the best though). My boyfriend ordered the zuppa de pesce with white sauce(he literally orders this at every single italian restaurant we go to– its his goal to find the best in the state). It was good but very dry, he was constantly stirring around looking for sauce. Service was good, had to ask for more drinks but overall good, they checked in and were friendly. Overall we were pleased with our meals, wowed by the garlic knots but everything else was just good. Probably will be back to try some other things.

A very nice Italian restaurant and one that I would certainly come back to. For starters, I couldn’t stop eating the garlic knots. They were addicting! My salad with house dressing was decent along with my entrée, the chicken Genovese. The chicken was fork tender! Service was good throughout the meal. Check this place out if you happen to be in the area.

The food was delish and the tomato sauce definitely got my vote! The garlic knots were so tasty — you can’t eat just one. Italian salad dressing with gorg was very good, I had the clams casino for my app and eggplant rollatini for my main entrée. A nice glass of pinot noir and I was very happy. The service is fabulous — the only thing that wasn’t great was the fact the air conditioning wasn’t working and it was pretty stuffy inside. All in all a great place!

After finding out that the commission’s «meet and greet» event with Wesleyan students was hastily cancelled by another area restaurant owner for no reasons whatsoever, one of the commissioners was able to secure the private event room at Fiore II at last minute’s notice. Main Street parking after 6 pm on a Thursday night took longer than I wanted, but luckily I scored a spot about six spaces down from where the restaurant is located. I’ve never been to Fiore before, so notice my confusion when I attempted to enter the restaurant at an emergency exit(whoops). One of the servers in the restaurant saw my confusion, smiled at me through the door and pointed to where the entrance was. As soon as I got in, I was graciously greeted by a gentleman. I told him I was there for a private event and he was kind enough to walk me through the restaurant and told me where restrooms were located before he left me to go down the stairs to the private dining area. Service is spectacular. As soon as I sat down, one of our servers for the evening promptly came over to fill my glass with water and asked if I would like to see the drink menu. I politely declined as we waited for the rest of our party to show up. The food is DELICIOUS. We had mozzarella sticks, fried calamari, stuffed mushrooms and clams casino served on large platters as samplers, as well as the garlic knots. I tried each one and and they all tasted great. The sticks and calamari were perfectly fried, not too heavy or greasy. The clams were good, was not really to fond of the mushrooms. The garlic knots were good also. For our main course we had lasagna, eggplant parmesan, chicken piccata and basic pasta dish of ziti with tomato sauce, all served family style. I had a little bit of everything and enjoyed all if it. We had so much food that everyone took home leftovers. My leftovers disappeared within five minutes of getting home(courtesy of the hubs). That experience alone was five stars. But I have yet to come back with the hubs and just experience their regular dining. If the experience is the same as the meet and greet, then I’ll gladly update my review and give Fiore the fifth star it deserves.

The food was great!!! So if you don’t care to get treated like a peasant I suggest the seafood! When you walk in there is nobody to greet you and everyone kind of just stares at you When the waiter came to my table he looked up as he was talking when I asked which wine he preferred he said he didn’t know then when we got our food the server asked if I wanted Parmesan cheese and I said yes and she had spilt it in my lap and because of the already unnecessary tension I was purposely wiping it off no sorry no anything anytime someone had dropped anything off of the table I politely said thank you and no response the only time they were nice is when they were dropping off the check not asking if we want to coffee or dessert which really stinks because their desserts did look good but we felt so unwanted and when we were in offer that option we just decided to leave and not to look back

We had a late lunch here on a Thursday. Our friend was craving Italian food. FOOD(3⁄5): The garlic knots were tasty, but I don’t think they were anything out of the ordinary. I worked at an Italian restaurant, and they were abou on par with the garlic knots we served. One thing that bugged me is that if the garlic knots came with our entrees, you’d think that they would have an amount that could be evenly split among the table. We had 5 knots for 3 people. Just a thought. The salad was good. I was disappointed with the Chicken Parmesan. While it was crispy, it lacked flavors that I expect in Chicken Parmesan. SERVICE(3⁄5): The woman who was assigned to our table must have hated us. She didn’t seem very pleasant. That being said, the other servers helped make this experience better. I don’t think I’ll come back. The prices seemed steep for something I could easily make at home, especially considering the other options in Middletown.

Stopped in to have dinner. Garlic knots are yummy. Had the eggplant rollitini and it was okay but surprisingly dry in the center. I’ve had this dish numerous times at other Italian restaurants —(papa joe’s in Darien(small, family owned restaurant, not the pizza chain, and Consiglio’s on Wooster street in New Haven to name a couple) and it has always been a light, moist dish. The rendition of this dish at Fiore’s was just not that great. Plus, the sauce was sooOOOoo salty. No need for that much salt. Truly. Would I recommend this restaurant? Yes, probably so. Maybe for lunch instead of dinner when it would be less in price. Would I go back? Perhaps. I might give them another try and definitely order something different. But I think next time I would rather try Luce’s up the street. That is supposed to be really very good.

Excellent food, good price but the service is the worst I ever saw. We kept waiting for 30 minutes til the bartender(that I think is the owner) tell the server to go to take the food order. Then he sat for other half hour til a girl come take our dessert order. Really bad service. Our server was valon(the name in our bill) I will be back hope service get better more attention to tables. Now we will stop by for coffee on dd cuz nobody offered or came back to table til the check comes.

A very solid family Italian restaurant. As everyone has said, the garlic knots are an absolutely delicious way to start the meal. As I was looking over the menu, I couldn’t decide if I wanted chicken or eggplant, so I was very happy to see Chicken Genovese, a dish that combined both! The chicken was fine, but I was very happy with the fried and breaded eggplant; I would definitely come back here to try the eggplant parmesan. The pesto sauce was also tasty and not too«heavy.» Overall, it was a satisfying meal(although apart from the salad, there are no sides with the entrees). Since it was a special occasion we of course had to have dessert! In some ways, this was my favorite part. I highly recommend ending the meal with a cappuccino and the cappuccino dessert.

I had dinner with a large party(about 14 people) on Friday night and I had mixed feelings about my experience. One of the staff(a manager maybe?) kept walking around our table glaring at us while we waited for the rest of our party to arrive so we could order. Once we ordered the food came out pretty quickly but the salad consisted of a few sparse leaves, 2 cherry tomatoes, 2 cucumbers and an olive. My entrée was veal and lobster and it tasted amazing– the veal and lobster were both tender and the vodka sauce was great and the meat was not drowning in it, which is a plus. But there was no side dish included– no vegetable, pasta or anything else so I left hungry after eating my whole $ 24 meal. Between the small portion size and the staff obviously wanting us to vacate, it slightly tainted my experience. The food was amazing though– I can’t sell that short!

A decent restaurant for a hot plate, Although there is always a pretty long wait. An OK place to bring a cute date, But not to grab a beer with a group of your mates. In my poem I am using«mates» the way Australians do. I have been to this place multiple times and I like it but I am not overly impressed. The employees never smile and always seem pissed off about something. There is always a wait for dinner and you can’t make reservations unless you have 6+ people. Waited at the bar for a table and the bartender didn’t know what beers they had when I asked him. When he figured it out, he gave me a list of beers that were mostly American macrobrews. Disappointing. Beers are about $ 4 and mixed drinks are around $ 8. Average prices. When we finally got a table, the food made up for the previous shortcomings. The House Balsamic salad was flavorful and very enjoyable. The garlic knots are good 4 out of 5 times; sometimes they are a bit burnt. My first time here I got the Chicken Parm, which was crispy with a very tasty sauce. However, you have to order pasta separately; it doesn’t come as a side. Last time I went I got the Shrimp Fra Diavolo and it was pretty average. I also got the Veal here once and it was nice and tender. Décor is boring. Place seems outdated. Food is very good, but dining is partly about the experience. My experience here was with a bunch of cranky zombies serving me food. The outdoor patio just opened up for the summer which is pretty cool.
