CVS Pharmacy

I have refilled my prescriptions at CVS locations for over 10 years and the PHARMACY DEPARTMENT at this Middletown location is HORRIBLE ! Many issues, where do I begin? Staff is rude and not at all helpful including whomever their manager/​supervisor is at the time (huge staff turnover, wonder why !!?) If your rx goes way up in co-​pay (over $ 30) they DON’T inform you ahead. If an rx is extremely expensive ($ 130) they just fill it without letting you know there is a generic for much less available. I am disabled and have my rxs picked up so am screwed they don’t work with me and just charge the person picking up my rxs whatever they want. They are a bunch of robots who just fill your prescriptions and put absolutely NO personal assistance or compassion into it. I DONE with CVS after today’s fiasco !

The pharmacy always is so unorganized and always has me running around and calling all my doctors (even though the doctors gave them all the information). I’ve been so frustrated with them that I’ve literally started crying a few times (long work days and no medication? Bad combination). The store part of cvs is just fine, like any other convenient store.

This review is a shoutout to the wonderful staff at the pharmacy. I regularly pick up prescriptions here and everyone who works there is so genuinely friendly and helpful, both in person and on the phone. They are very efficient and I rarely stand in a line waiting to pick up a prescription.
Other perks of this location is that it’s not in busy and touristy Newport, and unlike the Newport Bellevue store that is only 24 hours during the summer, this location is 24 hours all year round. This store is clean, and it’s easy to find what you need. What more could you ask for?

Open 24 hours!!! Superb. On a weekend out in Newport, RI, I came to realize I had forgotten to fill my prescription. Annoyed, but insistent on starting it when I was suppose to.. . I found myself walking through the automatic doors of this business. While my travel companion headed toward the large selection of sunscreen lotions, I walked to the back of the store where the pharmacy is located.
The pharmacists were extremely helpful and quick! They had no problem transferring my prescription info to their store and were even able to determine my insurance choice with ease. I waited no longer than 10 minutes for them to fill the prescription and was in and out of there in no time. How convenient! Nothing worse than running errands while attempting to enjoy the outdoor splendors of a seaside town. Made the trip simple and harmless, yay!
