Recently went through a face lift which unfortunately didn’t improve the food. Cosmos can’t be faulted since it seems to be the trend in Orange County that face lifts and ambiance get heavily invested in while FOH service, bar programs, and fresh delicious food is left on the side lines. This is a three star revue. Nothing at cosimos is BAD. It’s fine. But it seems like they are trying to move out of casual dining into a different weight class. Takes more than décor to do that.

We’ve been here a few times since the remodel and the food is always great. We’ve tried a few different appetizers, pizzas, and sandwiches and have never been disappointed. Definitely with a try.

We had a great experience. Our waitress Natasha was great. I ordered the chicken francese and fried calamari. Portions size is good. Managers were nice they came around a few times to see how everyone was doing. I would reccommend this place and i will definitely be back.

New renovations look amazing! Great ambiance, great service, and I have yet to have a disappointing meal. Love the new options on the menu. Tried the 8 hour pork cacciatore last night, it was incredibly tasty, and I think we found a new favorite appetizer: the rice balls(forgot the technical name), they were to die for. And as always dessert is totally on par. This continues to be my favorite place to go for date night. Congrats on your updated space. I’m glad to be able to enjoy it. :)

Beautifully redone, amazing menu with a great wine selection and new beers on tap. The pasta was delicious. As always, a friendly staff who will lead you through the new menu selections. Make sure you say hi to Jenny at the bar!

Went here on a whim one night for dinner a couple months ago. We try to stay away from chain restaurants as the food is always the same — boring, predictable, premade. From the get-go our experience was wonderful. The restaurant was about 2⁄3 full, but it wasn’t overly noisy or cramped feeling. The interior is actually rather open and airy. You don’t feel like you are sitting on top of the other patrons, and the way everything is arranged there isn’t a fear of being squished by someone else’s chair or having the whole place overhear your conversation. Our waiter was incredibly nice and attentive. We ordered the waffle fries with gorgonzola sauce, and just like every other reviewer we HIGHLY recommend getting these. The grilled asparagus with prosciutto and balsamic glaze is heavenly. A bread basket with dipping oil and spices is provided and frequently refilled. The specials change daily, and the menu is actually rather small but well rounded. By not having to be ready to serve something from 10 pages of options, it’s easy to be able to make dishes fresh and as ordered. Talk about a serious increase in quality. We ordered one of their pizzas(holy cow it was hard not to keep eating this even being beyond overstuffed), soup, and the pork chop with apple cranberry glaze. Everything was soooo good, and the portions were so big that we all ended up with leftovers. Since this first visit, we have been back a few times and each time has been has excellent as the one before.

Like everything in real estate, the value of a restaurant is heavily dependent on location. We live 13 hours away from Cosimo’s, but we’ve eaten there at least a half-dozen times over the past four years. Why? To use the word«convenience» may be confusing, but we’ve chosen this Italian bar and restaurant because it’s just a few blocks from an exit on Rt 17 and can be reached easily by friends in a wide area of New York and Pennsylvania. We come back because the food and service are reliable, it’s family-friendly and the menu ranges from pizza to sometimes ambitious seafood, beef and chicken entrees. The appetizers are sized to share, the salads are fresh and the pasta dishes are solid. Categorizing it as a pizza place on Unilocal is confusing. For us, it’s drinks and dinner. We count on being treated well and having a wide choice of prices. We tend to land in the middle, with appetizers and pasta. The antipasto is great, the calamari is little tame for us. The pasta dishes, such as the Spicy Chicken Fusilli, may look a bit pricey in the menu, but the kitchen treats them with care. Cosimo’s is a good, often loud, time but for meeting old friends it’s convenient, casual and accommodating.

What a disappointment. Been here many times in the past, but I have to say, the entire operation has fallen to not any better than an average pizza place. The food is as bland as it is greasy. Different manager and it shows. The service is poor to average. When I ordered the eggplant parm, it was tasteless and dry as was the accompanying penne pasta. After my 1st couple bites it was clear, this food needed some more sauce. It took the waiter 10 minutes to get to me after I had to finally hail down another waitress to get him. The food is way overpriced and they can’t even give you a salad to digest your food, you have to pay extra for it. I think I am done with this place. I will stick with the Newburgh one which is much better for now.

This was a roller coaster of a meal. We peaked super early and left disappointed. We started with drinks and appetizers. I ordered red sangria and crispy mozzarella. The sangria was perfect! Not too fruity, not too acidic. The crispy mozzarella was gooey, crispy, seasoned to perfection. The marinara was chunky and accompanied them well. We ate 3 of them before I could take a picture. You could tell these were made fresh. The the main meals came… whomp, whomp. So disappointing. I ordered the margharita pie. It’s advertised as a Brick Oven pizzeria. Brick oven pizza is thin, crisp, hearty. This pizza here was soft, doughy, slimey and unappetizing. The pizza collapsed in on itself in the middle of the pie. You couldn’t eat it as slices. All the cheese fell off too. I couldn’t eat it. This is NOT brick oven fired pizza. This is disgusting. I’m so disappointed. I had high hopes but at least I know better.

I would put them at more of a 3.5 star rating but I’ve rounded up for effort. There are some dishes that really wow you(Veal and Beef Tortelacci) and some that are just average(Lasagne di Casa… that Bechamel… just…no). Their fried calamari is tender, delicious and plenty to share(bonus points for that spicy pomodoro sauce). I’m not sure what’s up with the gigantic Prosciutto wrapped Mozzarella sticks. I don’t think the Prosciutto did anything to enhance the flavor. On my latest visit I went with a delicious crab ravioli special and loved every bite of it. If you see it, get it! Unfortunately, when it came time for dessert, the Crème brûlée was more like a dense, cake-y custard that was barely touched by a torch. Service was great and professional. no complaints there! This is a solid choice for the area. When they do something really well it’s amazing, so hopefully they will continue to improve on the dishes that fall a bit short.

Great waitress, nice armosphere. Sundried tomato soup with shrimp bisque… to die for. Warm bread would be a plus to dunk in the oil and vinegar. No delays, no mistakes, substitutions were no problem Would definitely come back!1

Not sure why anyone would review 3 stars. I’m a food critic and it’s easily a 4 bordering 5. The service is always extremely pleasant and helpful. The food is very unique and ingredients are clearly fresh. The menu is diverse and delicious. When I. Town I always stop to get an excellent family style Italian meal.

Ask for Piña! She is the best server. Spicy pasta fusilli us awesome. The bosciol is not on the menu anymore but they will still make it for you! Make sure you try the waffle fries with Gorgonzola cheese… Mmm mmm mmm! Salad with the large pieces of shaved parm is excellent. Paul is a great bartender… Check him out.

My lunch when it finally came out was great. Shrimp Caesar salad, pasta fagioli soup w a sangria. Ate outside because it was nice outside and why not. Restaurant was opened but appeared closed to the point we almost didn’t park. Got seated quickly but then took what seemed like forever for our lunch even though there wasn’t a soul there. Yellow jackets outside insane; they need to maybe spray or put out traps so people can enjoy their meal w out being attacked. Again food once it arrived was great like it always is.

We visited for lunch and it was a pleasant experience. For my taste, the pizza on the half pizza and salad was just slightly too thin but good tasting. Salads were fresh and nicely finished with the house dressing.
