The Grille is a tradition. I have eaten here more than anywhere else in town and at pretty much any time during the day(I went a whole semester at some point in my college years coming here for second dinner at 11:30 pm several times a week). My favorite: love me tender and the Heart Attach. Cross roads café also has cool offerings that I need to explore more, but stay away from the bubble tea. I’m a huge bubble tea drinker and the one here is just not good. The tea itself is very diluted and the bubbles are crunchy and taste like plastic(very weird). But you gotta go to the grille!

The Grille is great. It’s Middlebury College’s, well, grill-type eatery, which anyone can eat at. The space has a cool vibe. It’s huge, with tons of seating. There’s pool tables, foosball, a screening room, and a stage. Upstairs has the Grille itself, with a variety of lunch and dinner options like wraps, pizza, burgers, etc, and usually a special or two per day. Downstairs is the Juice Bar, with smoothies and stuff. I’d say the food is fine, nothing special.

The turkey, ranch and swiss on a hero is hands down one of the finest sandwiches in the nation. For one thing, the ranch here is probably what god’s semen would taste like. Unforgettable.

Middlebury College has suffered some budget cuts and as a result the menu at the grill has suffered. You can still get your Dr. Feelgood in addition to sandwiches, soup and pizza. If you want food, I would recommend cruising on down to Otter Creek Bakery If you want a late night snack try a parfait from the juice bar(lower level)

Let’s just say that this is college-owned dining at its finest. I ate here 3 days in a row while on business at Middlebury. I tried the chicken szechuan wrap, the white pizza w/herbs, and the love me tender wrap. Delicious and very reasonably priced. Great ambiance with pool tables and a juice bar below.
