One of my favorite places to walk around. I just find it so peaceful. Grab your binoculars, sneakers and bug spray but put that one prior to going on the trails. Nature at its best and everyone is so friendly. Who says doings things with the kids have to cost money! Enjoy nature and teach your kids how beautiful even the tiniest of creatures are.

Great place for doing a trail. All the staffs were extremely courteous and knowledgable. Got to use their binoculars for bird watching. Couple of trails to go on as we went on two of them. All were not strenuous and good exercise. Free admission too.

A discontiguous part of the refuge on the coast in Lower Township. There’s a beach trail and marsh trail. We took the marsh trail back to the viewing blind. Easy walk from parking lot over a broad walk. Ducks, egrets and swallows. We didn’t do the beach trail due to postings warning of ticks and poison ivy. On the road into the parking area, lots of prickly pear cactus. Unexpected but pretty with their yellow blossoms. Didn’t make it to the store. This place is a vest pocket gem of shore ecology.
