Zona Fresca

So I have been meaning to come here for months. Last week while waiting for class to start I decided to stop by, and I am so glad I did.
The place is spacious, very clean and the staff was fantastic all around. Their sauce station is well maintained and has a variety. The sauces I got were so yummy too. They have a soda dispensary machine that has Mountain Dew and that’s always a plus!
I ordered a burrito with pretty much everything and it was made so well. It included chips and they have student discounts too (I forgot my ID but I love knowing they have that!). Honestly each food product is made to taste and when you mix that in you can’t wait to come back. I’m really looking forward to having class today just so I can have some zona Fresca.
Must try!

Its brilliant tacos. Never tasted anything better!

Self serve Mexican spot with quick service and OK food. Tasty traditional burrito for about $ 7 had chicken and a lot of filler – beans, rice, etc., but was good. Fish tacos for $ 8 were really tasteless and disappointing. Not really grilled and had only a little lettuce and tomatoes on corn tortillas. Would not recommend the fish tacos. First time here and expected it to be better.

Came here with a friend after studying so we were very hungry! They told us about the starving student special so my friend got the burrito and I had the quesadilla. Friendly staff. My only issue was it seemed as if the salsa is out very long and isn’t always fresh. The food is great though. Perfect location too

This was very good and inexpensive. I ordered a burrito that was not only large but it included chips. They have a salsa bar at the restaurant with all different types of salsa! My one complaint was that the burrito was a little watery and the chicken could’ve had a tad more flavor. Overall, it was a great experience and the staff is very nice.

If you’re in the Biscayne area looking for a Mexican «type» spot outside of Bayside that has fair prices for good fresh quality food — I recommend this spot– no it’s NOT Chipotle however they have wine based margaritas OPTIONAL salt rim pretty good for a mid day stress reliever AND TWO FOR ONE after 4pm — love a good deal.

I love this place that is connected to the bottom of my building. The food is fresh, quick and great sized portions.
The service staff always attentive and friendly.
Get the chicken salad which has whole sliced avocado– yum! Also, the salsa bar they offer to join with your crisps, FRESH!
My boyfriend always gets the burrito– but I’m trying to keep slim on the waistline.

Great food! Consistent quality and healthy options (even gluten free options). They deliver via Bite Squad. My favorite is «the zone» with brown rice — wonderful.

Burritos here are HUGE and sooooo good! Today I got the pork burrito, an enchilada and a medium size Guacamole all for 21 bucks and they are better than many I have had tried in the past. I totally recommend this restaurant!

This place is so good!
Location: The restaurant is located right across the street from Bayside. It’s near a smoothie king as well. It’s not a hole in the wall so you can find it without GPS.
Price: Not that expensive. You won’t spend that much money here unless you are going all out and buying multiple tacos. Or if you are buying food for all your friends! If you are a student at university, they even have a combo. You can get tacos, a burrito, or a quesadilla. It usually comes with rice or chips (with guac!!). And the price range is $ 6−8+tax! I’m sure you’ll find something similar at Taco Bell, but this isn’t Taco Bell. Doesn’t even compare.
The food: There is something for everyone here! There are vegetarian options, burritos, tacos, desserts, and even a salsa bar! And if you’re not in the mood for a burrito, they can even make you a burrito bowl instead. I went with the Chicken Burrito (I chose the bowl option) and this is on the Student Combo menu. It came with chips/​guacamole and a fountain drink. My burrito bowl looked amazing. It looked very appetizing and I was so ready to eat it! It had guac, sour cream, rice, tomato, and so much more. I could barely finish the whole thing! But it was super delicious. The guacamole was chunky and not smooth, just the way I like it!
Other: Inside is not too small or not too big. It’s convenient to bring friends and just enjoy lunch or dinner. The salsa bar is quite excellent!
Overall: This place is just what downtown needed. There are not many great Mexican places that offer great prices (Lime does not count.) This is authentic Mexican cuisine offered at a great price and it is delicious! Try it out next time you are in the area! And if you are a student, have your $ 6 – 8 in hand with your student id ;)

Ok…it 8s nachos and tacos… at it best. I eat my chicken, fish and meat grilled 90% of the time and I eat no or very lil carbs. This place accommodated my eating habits. The cashier was kind enough to give me what I exactly wanted. It was very tasty too.

I just cannot understand how can A MC Donald or any other junk food outlet have more business than this place. It is very affordable too. Healthy depending on how u want ur meal to kinda consists of.
I for example ask for 2 sides of chicken and one side of fish. Then head to the salad bar ((which is free) and put some tasty mixed veggies in my plate and enjoy it. Winks.

My fave Mexican place!!! So good, so yummy.
They have a salsa bar, so you can try many different salsas (free, of course) and they also serve you complimentary tortilla chips, either on a to-​go baggy or if you’re dining in, in a bowl.
Since it’s a block away from Mdc Wolfson campus, many students go there and they also offer a student discount and have a special student «on the budget» menu. So that’s always good!
Side note: there Pico de gallo NEVER LET’S ME DOWN
I will say, but I do not mind because they’re That good… During lunch time, it does get pretty packed. Since it is in the heart of downtown, many students, tourists, and people that work near by do go there to have lunch, and it’s a packed house! Thankfully, the place is pretty big, so we’re not packed like sardines.
Overall, my fave Mexican spot. Never let’s me down! Just wish there was one close to my house (I live in Sunny Isles) I can only eat there when I’m in the downtown area (I work in Brickell)

You can’t really go wrong with Mexican, but it’s rare that a restaurant goes this right. The food is made well, affordable, and most importantly, tasty.
Plus, they’ve got discounts for college students, so if you’re at Dade and have some time between classes, I’d highly recommend stopping in for lunch, or dinner. Great atmosphere, casual and inviting, with enough going on to make it fun, but not at the level where it’s hard to hear what people at your table are saying.

Excellent Mexican food. I love their Tostada salad. The ingredients are super fresh and taste delicious. I also love their burritos. It is quality food for an affordable price. I eat here almost everyday. The place is clean and fast service. What else can you ask for? I usually stop by for lunch but sometimes I also order delivery through Bite Squad. So far, I have never been disappointed with my food

Ok I had to try this place one more time because I really love the Fort Lauderdale one and have been going there for 7+ years. First, nice touch the guy making the food was wearing gloves. So that was nice to see so we are off to a good start. I ordered my typical salad and my husband got the carne asada burrito. Everything this time around was perfect! I can’t wait to go back now!

–Quick and easy for those out and about in downtown Miami.
–Traditional tex-​mex menu with fresh Mexican items as well.
–Friendly service, great seating and clean baños.
Let’s not forget the salsa bar! The tamitillo is a must try:)
Yay for tacos and avocados!!!

Very tasty food, definitely fresh for a fast food place, squeaky clean spacious and the service is extremely fast! Love the location, if you work on Brickell the Metro mover will drop you off a block west of it after a couple of stops, College/​Bayside to be specific.
I was very pleasantly surprised to taste a delicious Mexican style shrimp ceviche. They also have good Mexican beer on draft at a very reasonable price.
I don’t give it 5 stars because I save those for my absolute faves that I’m obsessed with but not because I don’t think that they deserve it.

Great place to grab a quick lunch or dinner. Food taste very fresh but their service is even better! Their chips are my favorite since they are a little thicker than other tortilla chips and pairs perfect with their chunky guac. I recommend the baja fish tacos and the gringo style steak tacos, very good!
Great location, right on biscayne across from Bayside. They really keep this place spotless. Most places in downtown can feel a bit dirty and over run but Zona Fresca employees keep it clean, organized and very welcoming. Cleanest salsa bar around!

I love a good burrito. And they make a good burrito here at Zona Fresca. I got the Grilled Veggie with Black Beans burrito. The vegetables were fresh and not over cooked. The black beans were tasty. The cheese was just right. The rice was moist. Not dried out.
The salsa bar was great. Nice choice of types. The hot type was warm. Those whole roasted peppers… now they have a kick. The pickled carrots and onions are yummy too.
Free tortilla chips with every order. Home made and tasty. Not too salty and I hear you can go back for me.
The price is right and the service is typical go order and pick up style. I hope they are around for awhile cause I plan on going back.
