Since the music change to hip-hop there has been more fights and Crime due to the crowd that music brings in. I’ve been going there for four years and in the beginning they played hipster music and music that catered to the wynwood crowd. Now Wynwood is commercial & they play Y100, 99jamz shit music. There never was stolen hand bags, pickpocketing, fights, thuglife. I thank you for turning the place to a rap video. You should change it back to what it was four years ago and get ride of that dark crowd of crime & fights which people seem to blame on the bouncers who are just doing their job. I’m sure they rather have a nicer crowd in there like it was before.

I love this place it’s a combination of indoor and outdoor space with food trucks accessible in the outdoor space. They really good music, specially old-school hip-hop. This place has a dope vibe. One of my favorite places in Miami.

So I just recently started coming to Wood and I absolutely love it. Everything about it just has a a certain charm that makes me want to go back. I like the crowd, the people that work there, music, ambiance. Everything. And I love spending time at the bar next door, too. sometimes I just want to take the energy levels down a notch and chat with a friend or the bartender. :) so I enjoy a little bit of both.

You know that old show cheers? The one where everyone would know your name and hang out and talk nonsense for hours? Well, that is what Wood is to me. I have been a patron of this bar since before it became the hot spot it is today and you know what? I love how successful they’ve become. The crowd is great to watch, as everyone really lets their hair down and just has fun. Very refreshing for pretentious Miami!

Love this place! our co workers always come here to enjoy the great atmosphere and music. Yes the body guard last friday thought that we were underage and did not believe our license which was kinda strange but overall it is the most down to earth place we could be at. price range is great and the mix of music is the bomb! I recommend it to everyone

Not a bad place for happy hour! Drinks are two for one and they even provide free tacos! It’s pretty chill when you walk in, expect to be carded right of the bat. Bartender could’ve been a little bit more attentive being a week night and not a lot of traffic. Drinks weren’t watered down which is a major plus. Walked outside and discovered a different world, there’s a dj and plenty of seating including school style benches. The bar outside is huge and there’s plenty of room to stand around and vibe. All in all its a chill place for happy hour on a week night.

I’ve been going here for a few years now and it never disappoints! It’s an amazing space to kick back, drink, eat delicious inexpensive food and dance all night! I’d recommend it to just about everyone!

I read some of the reviews of other people’s experiences here & I can’t say I have the same negative feelings. We came here after celebrating my birthday at Wynwood Kitchen and the line was around the corner. I mean this is totally a chill/hipster kind of place and I really got a kick out of it being a virgin to Wood. Ha. My friends go here frequently but I had recently moved to CO and being in between cities I had yet to be able to go and I’m glad I got to last night. So as I mentioned, line was around the corner & my friends«know people» so we were able to go in right away which was extremely pleasing especially since my feet had become used to wearing boots and chanks(flip flops) and were damn near numb. We went out to the patio which was pack jammed but I got to see a blast from the past working the outside bar, Natasha, which was awesome! Anywho, long story a little bit shorter, I had a fabulous time we found seats on the inside and the dj was spinning 80s music & I was jammin. My friend’s bf came back with a WOOD Tavern snap back hat that I was told he «worked his charm for» from one of the girls working there I believe. Love. Overall this place is super chill & I had a really nice time & will be back again.

DONOTSUPPORTTHISBUSINESS. SECURITYGUARDSMANHANDLEWOMEN. Last night my sister, friends and I were celebrating her birthday and just before closing she tried to use the restroom before leaving. A 300 pound security guard yanked my 115 pound sister out of the bathroom, throwing her to the ground and proceeded to have her arrested for trying to defend herself after he aggressively grabbed her. The bouncers are rumored to sell drugs and have shown on many occasions to be aggressive towards their patrons. Just a bunch of minimum wage thugs in security t-shirts. Your safety is not their priority. While all of this was happening, another security guard came out to yell at our group of friends and proceeded to threaten us and yell«your friend is going to jail and if you don’t shut the fuck up I’m going to kick your ass too, you punk ass little bitch». Clearly an aggressive, low class group of employees. Another security guard came out a few minutes later to apologize for what happened, which clearly admits guilt on the indecent behavior of their staff. If my sister was in the wrong, why would anyone feel the need to apologize?

So, I will admit up front that Wynwood in general is not really my scene. I’m not really into the hipstery grunge vibe… however, I will say that Wood Tavern does what they set out to do very well, so if that’s what you like you’ll probably be a fan. I did like the large outdoor space and that dogs were welcome. The music was chill, and it had sort of a neighborhood feel. We were lucky enough to snag a picnic table under the covering. We got the alcoholic lemonade, which was sort of like a strawberry mojito. I definitely enjoyed it, although I don’t really understand the freakishly long straws… maybe i’m just not cool enough to get it. :( I would probably come back here with the friends who brought me the first time, but I don’t think it’s somewhere I would go by myself. Overall, it was a fun time with solid drinks, and any place that allows dogs is ok in my book!

Although it was packed with people, you can move around and get good service at the food truck or in any of the bars. It is close to impossible to find parking. You are better off to use the valet parking across the street in wynwood walls. Amazing prices on beer

This place was nice and chill. We went their on a Thursday night. Their happy hour special was Stella and a shot if Jack for around $ 6.50. I was still recovering from the night before, so I just ordered a Stella for $ 2.50. Amazing price. They had an immobile food truck in there that served Mexican food. I tried their chicken burrito for around $ 5.50. It wasn’t that bad. Their was a black cat that was everywhere, though. So, when I sat my food down on the table, to grab a drink, the cat approached the table and started staring at my food. Thankfully, my friends were there to grab the food before the cat did. The environment was nice and chill. They had benches that people sat on. It almost felt like they were seated to watch a breakdance competition. I really have no complains. If you prefer a nice, chill, friendly environment, this is a cool place to go!

The thing that stands out for me is the festive nature of this place. It seems like a party. If you’re a beer lover, you may want to check out the other places in the neighborhood. However, if you’re looking for a good time, the outdoor portion is the place to be. I am traditionally an afternoon person when it comes to having a beer. This is a good spot to go to when the sun goes down. On this particular Saturday, things were just starting to ramp up at around 6 p.m. Not sure I will work this into my routine next time.

Wood Tavern is my favorite. I usually hate hanging out in crowded bars where I can’t even see or hear the people I’m with(let alone move) but I always agree to go when we’re headed to Wood Tavern because it definitely isn’t like that. Ladies Nights on Wednesday are, obviously, my favorite, but it’s great on other nights too. The bartenders are always super cool and nice, which is refreshing when you sometimes deal with bartenders in Wynwood who think they’re too good to be there. Even though I’ve never seen Wood Tavern not busy, my group always finds a spot to sit either on the bleachers or tables near the exit. Because so many people are coming and going it doesn’t feel so packed. And, best of all, Wood Tavern is a fantastic place to people watch. You won’t regret it.

Going out on a Sunday night is never my case but I am glad I did. This was my second time at Wood Tavern and I think what makes your night great is your company because I didn’t enjoy myself the first I came here. Especially because it was outdoors and the benches are always packed so there’s usually nowhere to sit. But there was surprisingly a decent outcome for a Sunday night and the music was great. I tried a Red Long Island, which I had no idea existed. Apparently Wood Tavern serves Blue, Red, Peace and Green Long Islands. People were dancing and it was a great way to end the weekend. I’ll be back! FYI: They close at midnight on Sundays.

I mean, the vibe is cool, there are games(if you call dibs on time), and food trucks all around. However, the tiles/sidewalk outside are a tripping hazard and the bathroom line is always blocking the(tiny) hallway to get outside. Plus. I had a bad experience with a bartender last I went. Granted it was 7:45 on a Friday night. But how are you going to make eye contact with me, make the order of the girl next to me, then not come back? I waited patiently, gave the«oh hey, am I next smile?» and finally got my beer at 8:05. Pretty upset to have to wait 20 minutes for an(utterly delicious) beer, and I missed the half off drink time before 8. So lesson learned, be a dick and yell at the bartender like everyone else does? Or maybe hire more than 2 bartenders for the bar outside, Wood Tavern!

This bar is hands down one of the most popular ones out of the few in wynwood, but it is also one of the most packed on a weekend! On normal weekends, you can find a line fairly decent enough to wait fifteen min to get in, but on artwalk night(the second Saturday of each month), be prepared for a 30 min line that curls around the building! No lines on week days though, which makes this place perfect for taco Tuesday It’s fairly sized. Not many tables, but lots of «bleacher» type steps to sit on. They have the best taco Tuesday deals! Best part about that. no lines on a Tuesday! Except for the taco line inside haha. But it’s not even that bad! So free tacos from 6−9pm, you can get up to 2 free at a time, but tip the cashier and you’ll get 3 or 4 at a time. Feel free to keep coming back for more too! After 9pm, it’s $ 1 a taco unless it’s steak, then it’s $ 3. They serve mushroom, chicken, pork, and steak. Oh and don’t skip on on their huge $ 5 cheese quesadilla either! Tacos are free, so you’ve got $ 5 to spare for an ooey gooey cheesey quesadilla big enough to share between 4 people!

How do I review a place that I love this much?! Wood feels like a home away from home — every single time I step through the door, I feel like a part of the Wood family. From the bartenders to the bouncer, the Cooks manning(and womaning) Taco Tuesdays, and the random employees hanging out in the back — everyone I’ve encountered at Wood is friendly, open, and pleasant. That’s what I think really separates Wynwood from other subsections of Miami — that feeling where everyone you meet is now your buddy. Wood has some sort of special going on every day — Taco Tuesdays, Vintage Video Games, Ladies Night, Art Nights, Happy Hours, Backyard Boogie, and random events in between. I like starting and ending my nights at Wood, with some hopping in between. If you haven’t been here yet — why? Just hop in your car, park nearby, walk in and strike up a conversation with the nearest person you seem to vibe with — maybe over some Jenga? Your night has only just begun, but it will be amazing — thanks to Wood.

I just love Wood!!! lol Been here plenty of times and the vibe is always a good time and the casual atmosphere makes it easy to enjoy. The drink specials are always on point and even when there are no specials,(after 7 on Saturday’s) the prices are normal. Sunday is my favorite because it is backyard boogie. The DJ’s are great and the vibe is casual. You have people coming from everywhere on Sunday afternoon; Marlins games, the beach or people like me and my crew who wake up late looking for an easy afternoon vibe. ;) There is giant Jenga and lots of bleacher type seating as well as tables and bar leaning available. Dogs are welcome too. There is always food and it changes from time to time but it’s always good. Plenty of bar space as well as the bar Winnebago! Follow WoodTavern on Instagram for daily themes and specials.

Cool spot! We had a good time. This place is like a block party. Great thing is no cover. The music was good old school hip hop, random 70’s mixed in, reggae. The DJ was a real crowd pleaser without playing the usual stuff. People get there around 3 and hang out there well into the evening. The appearance is really cool the multicolored strung lights, the graffiti art. It’s a come as you are kinda party and everyone is talking, and when the music is good people are dancing. They have mixed drinks, drink pitchers, beers, and some craft beers native to Florida. A few folks light up, but because its indoor/outdoor not a huge problem for me. The crowd wasn’t too young either mostly 25 on up. If I lived in Wynwood this would be my hang out.
