TownePlace Suites Miami Airport West/Doral Area

My wife and I are here for an evening. Staff is very kind, helpful and knowledgeable. Clean, fresh room so I am not sure of the prior reviews I read.

This place was filthy, and the service was terrible! The room and hallways smelled heavily of some kind of air freshener/​cover-​up cleaner. This was the kind of place where you’d be afraid to remove your shoes or touch surfaces without washing your hands afterwards! The shower curtains had mildew stains on them, the oven door, refrigerator and kitchen counters had smudges and stains on them, and when we entered the room, the oven was on! When we told the person at the front desk about the oven being on, he said the cleaning staff must have accidentally turned the oven on while cleaning — what cleaning did they do?! When we returned to the front desk later to ask for another towel, the desk person looked at us and said, «What is it now?» When we made our reservations, the website said there’d be an airport shuttle, but when we checked in, we were told they no longer offered a shuttle service. Breakfast is served there, but because of our early check out time, there’d be coffee and muffins for us. When we checked out, there were no coffee or muffins.

I’m so surprised by the other reviews. My room was very clean and comfortable. I was able to check in early. Bed is awesome! Small little kitchen area that would be great if you’re staying in town an extended time. There is no weird smell as someone else wrote. There are two buildings so maybe one is nicer than the other. I stayed on 4^th floor in the same building as check in. Only complaint is the toilet ran which was annoying. Fortunately when the bathroom door was closed I couldn’t hear it. I would definitely stay at this property again.

If I could give a zero I would. Marriott should be ashamed of this hotel. Having stayed at over 50 Marriotts this year alone the minute I pulled up to this hotel I had a bad feeling. The check in process with staff put a bad taste in my mouth then when I arrived in my room it got worse. The smell alone was like a nursing home mixed with mold. The sheets at least seemed clean but carpet and smell was bad enough. The gym was an absolute joke. Not even full sets of dumbbells and 3 machines in a make shift closet. To say the least would never stay here again and it’s in need of a total remodel.

We checked in to this hotel and I will be absolutely to the point. This hotel takes good pictures but its not the size it seems and not as clean as it seems. This hotel is much smaller than the pictures make it seems. The hotel had a stench to it and also ants. We complained 3 hours after being there and the front desk did nothing as in offer us a better room. The continental breakfast was stale .This hotel is a disgrace to the Marriott’s name. Please advise and avoid this location.

This place is smelly, seriously every room and aisle smells like indian food. Maybe they should change the name to the Taj Majal or something like that, i got the room right next to the little room where breakfast is served and the reception door and the noise was unbearable, plus when I unfolded the sofa bed I found a condom wrapper on the floor. The staff is quite helpful and when I complained the next morning they changed my room to the fourth floor and away from the elevator.
Seriously if you own a nose avoid this hotel like the plague. It may be spacious (what the previous guy said about the TV placement is true though) but that friggin’ smell is everywhere and it is unbearable… They try to mask it using all types of ambient deodorizers but the smell is always there… like a haunting… The only reason I’m giving two stars instead of one is because the staff is very nice.

Dirty, smelly, if you want a stiff neck from watching TV sideways… then come. The idiot who designed the rooms obviously never watches TV.
All the rooms, except 2 bedroom suites have TVs to the side of the sofa and/​or bed, and I mean to the SIDE. You can’t move it either, cable not long enough.
This has been for ALL the TownePlace Suites, so its either stop paying for the room or pay my Chiropractor.
