I ordered 2 drinks from a guy behind the bar. I went to the bar to order again, I was refused service. Was not intoxicated or rude in any way, was literally refused service b/c I supposedly had tab open ‘with other bartender’ or some nonsense. Other people came up without any tab open, ordered drinks, paid in cash, paid via credit and closed out. The other bartender closed my tab, was *still refused* service at the bar. Spoke to manager who didn’t even listen, sided with her lady bartender. Have never been treated as disrespectfully in my life as with ‘the corner’ bartending staff. Wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone.

Not your typical Miami bar — I would say the ambiance is more of a dive bar type of feel. I came here for an evening meeting with some coworkers so I only had a couple of appetizers and a beer. They have a great happy hour during the week and they happy hour menu is extremely cheap! The neighborhood is a little questionable but considering that it’s downtown and nearing the Overtown area and everything in this area closes at 5pm it’s to be expected. If you’re looking for some cheap bites and beer and looking to get away from the typical Miami scene this is your spot!

Hands down the best bar in Miami. I go there every time I’m in town. The bartenders and vibe are great. The drink menu is terrific and the food is delicious. Could not recommend this place more!

Food is yummy — bartenders are cool. This place has grown on me big time. It went from one of my least favorite bars to one of my top favorite bars. Though I Could do without the homeless people so damn close to me asking me for money while I eat. The drink selection here is very very very good. The shishito peppers and a nice negroni make me a very happy girl when I’m here. Cheers!!!

If you have trust issues, don’t worry. The Corner is a place you can rely on to either start or end the night right. They have great happy hour deals, a massive craft beer selection and a variety of sake bottles as well. Definitely a hipster vibe with dim lighting and all. Sometimes the best places are right around the corner.

We headed over to this place because we were looking for a laid back place. It is off the beaten path, considered in the down town area and not too far from wynwood or downtown near brickell area. The place is dimlight with candles everywhere and pretty woodsy inside with beers all written on the wall. The happy hour special goes until 8pm and is $ 3 cans and well drinks and 3 $ grilled cheese and chicago dogs. Hubby ordered cans of beer and was happy I tried Hot and Smokey– strong punch of mezcal with distinct habanero flavor. Cham wow– vodka and champagne with berries. Grilled cheese was your delicious nostaglic regular grilled cheese sandwich with kettle chips and pickle. The drinks were made very well and we had a great time, decent music played loud enough for you to speak, but quiet enough so you can hear eachother and have a conversation. Highly recommend!

emerson and the guy who looks like a character from straight out of… the simpsons dont work there no more. awesome! i got a message from management about my previous review which I appreciate. still the corner is the best place in Miami for after hour drinks and possibly hooking up with whatever washes off from e11even or however you spell it.

I was looking forward to a well crafted cocktail when I walked into this place. The place is dimly lit which gave it a romantic mysterious feel. The bar is artfully lines with fresh garnishes and there’s a mirror behind the alcohol collection. The ambience could only go so far. Outside there were many tables of people chain smoking which helped kill the mood. We took a seat at the bar, which often lends itself to better service. Instead we were able to observe the bartender’s lackluster enthusiasm firsthand. We patiently waited for a menu and then the bartender’s attention to order two cocktails and some chips to snack on. We observed other patrons at the bar ordering drinks and snacks and both bartenders seemed annoyed to be there and to have to answer anyone’s questions. When the bartender finally made our drinks we were asked if we wanted to open a tab or pay right away. We were still waiting for our chips. My boyfriend was offended by the fact that we were asked for a credit card when we were clearly right in front of the bartender. This is definitely not the treatment we’ve received at other bars in the area. We opted to close out instead. The bartender forgot to ring up our chips and we decided against reminding him we wanted them. We quickly finished our cocktails. They were okay, but I probably could have made them at home, not worth the expensive price tag and poor service we endured to get them.

Love this place. Strong drinks prepared by a very competent and knowledgeable bartender. I like going for pre drinks very early around 430ish… never that busy at that time… ideal before dinner.

Always love coming here and noticed that a friend of mine wrote a review and it got me thinking about my last visit. Definitely a great place to relax at the end of a long day OR even pregame a bit before starting the night. Whatever you’re into, it fits the bill. The atmosphere, like the name, is low key and relaxed. There’s always a good chill vibe, games to play, a dimly lit old fashioned bar with a rolling ladder, and staff that are very good at making specialty drinks. My favorite drink to get is the Vieux carre but be warned more than one can leave you silly. Definitely a must do to anyone visiting Miami and even for locals who are looking for some relaxation at the end of a long work week. Also there’s appetizers to accompany your libations. Nothing phenomenal but a welcomed addition after a few Vieux carre!

Update: the night time manager decides to give her friends the last«two grilled cheese» after the cook gave me the ok and asks me how much and how many I want. You need to really fix this because your business is suffering from this. Great food don’t expect any service Not sure what the deal is with the wait staff here it’s non existent 4 people behind the bar and no one waiting on tables/you order your food and you have to pick it up. This place needs a serious rethink on how they do business. Chic a fila serves you your food but this place does not. Seems like a real disconnect when wait staff is chatting away and totally disconnected from the patrons. The reason for two stars is the food. Good food horribly designed lazy method. Fix it. your better then this.

The Corner has become a go-to happy hour spot for my friends and I on Fridays. I normally come via Über and see my drivers getting skeptical as we make our way through seedy parts of Downtown Miami until we arrive. With the addition of Fooq’s to the block, the area is improving but can definitely raise a few eyebrows. Anyways, they have a lot of canned beer for $ 3 during happy hour and pretty good stuff! That’s what we stick to. One time I got hungry and ordered a plate of olives and pickles; however, the plan is usually to grab food afterwards. It’s pretty dark inside which adds to the mystique. Bathrooms are unisex and have writing all over the walls. It’s never been too crowded during happy hour and there are some tables inside and out! Definitely look forward to winding down here time and time again.

I like The Corner because its location is great and it’s inexpensive. It’s right by Club Space and Eleven, so it’s a good spot to go to before or after your times there. I probably wouldn’t make the drive to go there on its own, but if you want to go to a few places around there definitely stop here. They have an extensive collection of craft beers and typical name brand ones, it’s organized, listed by the percent of alcohol content, and price. I know some places like not showing the price, but rather than being pretentious, The Corner is straightforward and helpful. My only complaint is that they don’t have a lot of tables so it’s hard to go with a group especially if it’s crowded. With that in mind, they have indoor and outdoor seating, it’s a cute spot, and I enjoy coming here with friends. It would be a nice cozy place for a date too.

I get that the homeless people and shady customers are part of the«vibe», but when I paid $ 9 for a beer plus tip and the bartender took out the bottle and a glass and handed it to me and wouldn’t even pour the beer, it was just too much. I wouldn’t have tipped him if I knew it was self-service. In fact, I would’ve skipped this overpriced, sketchy, nasty place and gone elsewhere. And the obnoxious guy speaking loudly in a bad fake Irish accent with a top hat? Just, no. Oh, and the«great food» everyone raves about? Ha! What a joke. I ordered a grilled cheese because I was starving when I got here and wanted some basic bar/comfort food. A child can cook a better grilled cheese than they can. 2 burnt flat pieces of bread and a ½ slice of what was probably kraft in the middle. With 5 or 6 chips sprinkled on the side, they shouldn’t have even bothered, it was just ridiculous. When I asked the guy who brought me the sandwich if it was typical for bartenders to not even pour the beer after you tipped them he just gave me this look like«what the hell do you want from us», shrugged his shoulders and said«I’ll tell him». I don’t understand the hype at all, this place is nothing but an overpriced dive bar trying too hard to be «classy». Wins the award for worst-but-most-recommended bar in miami.

I’ve had some really good times at The Corner, plus some really good drinks and solid food. You have to love their style, a mix of bar bygone eras and new trends. It is a chill place to gather with friends while sipping delicious, craft cocktails and/or beers. And their food, although simple and straightforward never disappoints. However, this place’s biggest perk is that is open until really late(or really early depending on what your description of 6am is). So if it’s already 3am on Saturday and your brain has somehow tricked you into thinking that you’re in your teens again, tricked you into forgetting that life’s too short to give away your few, always fleeting sleeping hours, head over to The Corner(sorry Denny’ s); it will be gladly waiting for you, loud and full of other drunkards… err, insomniacs…

One of the best bars in «lower Miami». Incredible eats and amazing cocktails– all made fresh to order. One of the most interesting things about The Corner(aside from its sexy dim interior and 100s of beers) is the crowd. On any given moment you will find bikers, hipsters, millennials, and more chilling inside and out having a good time. +5 for the walk up window.

Amazing sandwiches! Funny thing is, my favorite sandwich in Miami is actually located right at «The Corner» and it’s called, «The Favorite». This is the perfect spot to hit with friends for a quick, casual dinner and drinks and then hop over to Space Club down the block. There’s also live music throughout the week, I believe. Such a nice treat! They also have a variety of beer and bunch of cocktails. Highly recommend!

Get the pan con tomate! Ah such a simple thing, but it’s crack I tell you! Crack! Garlicky deliciousness. Haha and add prosciutto! Large selection of beer on tap and in bottles for decent prices. This place is open wayyy late, 8am! Bartenders were a little rude at first and you can tell some of them really don’t enjoy their jobs :(when we first walked to the bar and asked for the menu the girl held her finger up at me to tell me to wait before even saying anything. She apologized after so at least she realized. The other bartender I guess is more of a cocktail guy? Or just judged us and thought we didn’t know anything about beers. when we asked what he had on tap because we couldn’t see, he responded with«dark, light, IPA, etc» My friend and I looked at each other incredulously and we’re both thinking.“uh can you be more specific? Names?! Breweries?“ We still had a good time regardless. It was pretty packed all night. I was just happy with my beer and pan con tomate! :)

Much like John Deering’s Vizcaya was an ode to the Italian villas of the Renaissance, the Corner’s speakeasy style was seemingly brought brick-by-brick from Williamsburg, Brooklyn. In-the-biz workers clamor to get timeless concoctions fused from house-made liquor infusions, local fruit and a museum-quality collection of 18 types of bitters. Whatever the staff is putting in your drinks is in plain sight on the bar and they only use fresh ingredients over commercially produced sizzurps and flavorings. In the same vein as Giorgio Rapicavoli’s pop-up bar, Drinking Room and permanent pop-up, Broken Shaker — this is a bartender’s bar. The concept of mixology is alive and well here and customers can expect a lot of mustache twirling and smoothing of steampunk outfits while they decide on an ever-changing line-up of rotating taps and cocktails. The Corner also offers rare large format beers, craft soft drinks, wine and bubbly by the glass. The kitchen serves a cosmopolitan menu of comfort foods like Croque Madame, Deviled Egg Platters, Pan con Tomate plated with Manchego or Jamón serrano and the occasional paella cooked onsite. Their location in downtown has benefited from a recent economic and cultural facelift thanks to hosting the filming of Rock of Ages. Now it’s possible to hop to the Corner for an apéritif, skip next door to Nemesis Urban Bistro for dinner, jump over to Grand Central for a show, dance the night away at E11even and head back to the Corner for a nightcap because they’re open as late/early as 8am on weekends! There’s no typical crowd at the Corner, you’ll see everyone from Critical Massers to Heat fans celebrating a win. So bring your human or canine compadres to meet and mingle with the regulars, while enjoying half-off Happy-Hour from 4 – 8 pm including select drafts and high quality well liquors. Regular pricing is steep for the area and occasionally you’ll have to pop a bartender’s inflated ego, but other than that this is craft cocktails at Miami’s best.
