Gotta kick out of this place’s Art Basel opening. Max Fish is one if my old NYC stomping grounds. The PS14 version is equally bright inside with equally fun décor and equally good music all crammed into a smaller space with a somewhat baron outdoor area. Would be happy to see it stick around…

(3.5) Well, well, well I will begin tonights reviews with Max Fish. I had to go check it out before they took it down. Max Fish is one of Art Basel’s many installation pieces, which also happens to be a bar(drinking + art = one of my favorite things). They decided to create a replica in celebration of the original’s(in NYE, read site for more info) 20th anniversary so my dear Unilocalers make sure you check it out before they take it down because like my friend Jenny said«PS14 has never looked this good». Although it was pretty cool, as a bar, there were some things that just didn’t rub me the right way… where shall we begin… The art on the walls is fantastic, and I loved how they added 4 benches to create more sitting room. PS definitely lacks sitting arrangements. They did’t accept credit cards and their atm machine charged a 5 dollar fee… yeah, uhmm that’s like a lunch for me, I dont think so. I did love the lighting, fantastic way of decorating a place… good lighting = good mood, therefore, good times. We got the chance to check out one of the bands playing tonight(Jacuzzi Boys) and the sounds system/lighting show was really epic. It helps that they painted one of the walls in an intricate colorful pattern, definitely added to the experience. All and all a good time, but it is PS14 after all… with the artsy masque that everyone seems to be wearing this weekend. I believe the last day will be Dec 6th, so do yourself a favor and go check it out if you happen to be around the area(which considering what weekend it is, you definitely should be, no excuses.)
