My first time ever trying sushi was at Sushi Ko(over a decade ago). It instantly became a favorite for me due to it’s homey, laidback feel and yummy food. My all-time favorite roll is the Kiko. It has a kick to it but is not overwhelming. It is a simple roll, but sometimes less is more! The fancier rolls are a little pricier, I have tried several of them and for some reason the Kiko is still most popular with my taste buds. I also absolutely LOVE their Udon Noodle soup. I’ve also tried the Ramen but Udon knocks it out of the park. It has a fried egg and shrimp, and the noodles are thicker. The broth is super tasty and the soup arrives piping hot. Great for a rainy day, or if you have the sniffles. :) If there’s room for dessert, I like the Cheesecake Tempura, which comes with ice cream(plenty to share). Ice Cream Tempura is also great. The owner is such a friendly spirit. He always greets with a wave, a smile, and a happy«helloooooo!» LOL. He also makes sure to say goodbye. Very polite and kind. The only reason I’m keeping a star is because sometimes the rolls fall apart a bit, but I would say this happens maybe 2 out of 10 times which is no biggie for me. I’ve taken a couple of friends/family members there and they have all loved it… You might just love it too.

I was worried when all of the chefs that I’ve grown to love had left, but a few old faces are still there and the new faces have truly stepped up and hit a home run. Yuki«jr» and Alfonso are very creative and are complemented by the always awesome kitchen staff. This is not your typical sushi restaurant. You can play it safe and go by the menu, or if you’re the adventurous type then just say«omakase» and you’ll be treated to a fine dining experience that you’ll only find at the highest end restaurants for 4 times the price! Check out my many pics and just say«I want this», although that is not for those on a budget of course.

3.5 rate//It’s been my third time coming to this place, the service is always outstanding, friendly staff, clean place, prices are not bad, although sushi is always pretty good, sometimes it can be awesome, others it can be just good, depending on the day i feel sometimes they do it with too much rice and too little fish/filling which can be kind of a ripoff lol if the case… But overall experience it’s really good. I would actually rate this restaurant with a 3.5 if I could, if they would be constant with the way they do the sushi and fill those babies up the way their supposed to, I would totally rate them with 4stars.

Terrible, terrible, terrible and I didn’t even try food. First walked in and smell was shocking. Really… I sat at sushi bar that was pretty gross. I’m not even that big of a stickler for über clean but was gross. Menus looked like they been through a war. They don’t even list any sashimi or nigiri by the piece at all on menu, but they have 75 diff cream cheese filled rolls. Asked for a hot sake but it was yellow. When u don’t clean sake line over night it gets stale. I pulled the rip cord and left. Never again ever

Never knew there was a sushi spot just a few doors down from Tropical. And like many sushi places, the menu here has a lot to offer. However I wasn’t too impressed. We started with a tuna tataki which wasn’t the best. The flavor fell short, and it was a bit more salty than anything. The Dragon Mac + Skittles Rolla were good, but nothing too exciting. On the plus, the portions were grande. The sushi space in Miami is a crowded one. And while I’d try it again, there are just too many better options ahead of it.

I’ve dined at Sushi Ko over the years and I remember it being better. I don’t know if my taste in sushi has changed or if it was indeed better, but I’d say it’s average. I had the tuna tataki and the Big Mac dragon and skittles sushi rolls. The rolls were okay. The tuna was good. I’ll come back just because I remember it being better, maybe I came on an off night.

Steep decline in quality of food and of service. Our nigiri was definitely not prepared by someone who cared about their art or the enjoyment of the patron. One of us ordered a hot meal and they brought the rice out with the salad and soup and by the time the cooked food arrived the rice was cold. The sake was of the most inadequate flavor and probably of the basest grade. Eel –I think it was haddock or something disguised to look like eel and why the Krab — At least the salmon was grilled well and the dinamite was flavorful, but even the wasabi was not real wasabi but probably so other tuber that was colored green. The service was atrocious, orders being delivered in a haphazard manner and we even saw our order get delivered to someone who came in way after us and then when our plate was brought to us so late that we had already all stopped eating, there was the most perfunctory of apologies. The place is popular with regulars but it is definitely a regular crowd which is blissfully ignorant of what good Japanese cuisine should be. My complaints to the owner were met with a rude response and a dressing down of the waiter with a snide remark thrown in at me for good measure. There is no joy in the owner, the staff and the chefs — and it definitely comes through in the food and service

The restaurant is pretty small. The staff is friendly and there is a welcoming atmosphere. So I went here to try their ramen soup since it was recommended to me by a friend. I had the pork ramen soup which had bamboo shoots, green onions and an egg, with no fishcake. I wish they would put a little more veggies. It was pretty good. It tasted home made and the broth had a creamy look to it. I enjoyed it, especially since I went on a chilly night in South Florida… I also tried the chicken katsu, which was very crisp and tasty. Also a very good dish. I had their beef teriyaki which I was not a fan of. The beef was a little tough and the teriyaki sauce was very, very salty. I wouldn’t get the beef teriyaki again, but would come back for the soup and the katsu.

Walked in @ about 4:00 lady at the door not very happy we are there but the person in charge was smiling and happy and very welcoming. I asked if we could sit at a table near where the chefs worksheet tells be the booth is better so I sat at the table I liked with that the service got worse by the minute so thirty minutes into our visit I told the family to pack our this and we left no water no service not wasting my time !

Very slow service. The Gyoza appetizer is TINY! The screaming orgasm roll was good, yet the put a mountain of a special sauce which was just plain mayonnaise. Definitely not coming again.

Specially with their prices if service was great i wouldnt mind.

In my opinion, one of the BEST sushi restaurants in Miami. I’ve been going here for almost 10 years and will continue to do so for as long as live in Miami. Fresh food, amazing quality, exceptional service. MYABSOLUTEFAVORITE!

Go-to local spot for sushi. Best rainbow roll in town. Melt in your mouth sushi. Try Yuki’s specials. The Greek roll is a good carb-free option. Also get spicy mayo w your rolls, it’s also the best in town. Been going here for years.

The setting is very casual and the décor is very much Japanese and the ambiance is very cozy. The food is really freaking good and they have other authentic dishes on their menu. Affordable, good costumer service. There are no complaints here. Like you might have already seen, there’s plenty of people that have given this place a good rating and others that didn’t have a good experience, everyone is different. You might actually end up liking this place a lot. So, I suggest you give it a try. ^__^

Sushi Ko is not the fanciest or nicest location for a sushi restaurant and the staff can sometimes be a little aloof but the quality of the sushi is just fantastic. Some of my favorite rolls are the cucumber wrapped ones, five five roll, big mac?, and some of the best edamame’s out there. I always get a super large order of iced green tea to wash it all down. One of my favorite neighborhood suhi’s.

A place my man and I consider home, from the parking lot to the dinner table. We always get the avocado salad & steam pork dumplings to start — YUM. The sushi is always fresh. Truly a place we know we leave satisfied. :)

Definitely my favorite sushi spot. I am baffled as to why it doesn’t have 4 stars. The décor is very nice. The food is always fresh and delicious with amazing presentation. The service is always great and the staff is always friendly. Some of the best and freshest tuna in town. The Robert Maki roll is a must. It is a little pricey but it is definitely worth every penny. They provide a truly pleasant and complete dining experience for any sushi lover…

I am a vegetarian, and although there are a ton of things on the menu, the vegetarian options aren’t so great. The food was so-so, but very affordable. We ordered the tempura brownie for desert and it was delicious!

I can’t believe that I have lived in Miami practically my whole life and this weekend was my first dinning experience at Sushi Ko. Staff is friendly and welcoming from the minute you step foot in the restaurant. My boyfriend and I sat at the sushi bar to enjoy the chef’s sushi tasting menu of the day(this is all off the menu, a little risky for some but well worth the culinary adventure). All you have to do is let the chef know if you are opposed to any type of sea critter and he will take care of the rest. They also have a rather large selection of Saki for any Saki lovers! Everything was a perfectly orchestrated flavor of events. Needless to say, seven dishes and 4 Saki bottles later I am officially hooked for life!

In comparison to my favorite sushi spot I gave this a 4 star. After having had a long and stressful work day, my BFF who happens to be my coworker suggested a quick dinner to de stress before going home to our circus at home. I pulled out my friendly Unilocal app and found this place. Sushi, wine, and good reviews. We were convinced. We both loved it. Sushi tasted fresh. Great selection of interesting rolls. We settled for the Mr. 305 and the Raw deal. Both were spectacular. The jalapeño spicy sauce with the raw deal was Amazing. My taste buds were exploding, literally. We both agreed that we will be back!
