The menu is huge and has a lot of options, it can be a little overwhelming. I really enjoyed my ginger salad, it was very crisp and refreshing. The shrimp dumpling appetizer was also really good! I highly recommend getting it steamed because you can taste the shrimp much better this way. I had an eel roll and the eel sauce was really sweet. The ambiance was also really nice outside with the great music! I’ll definitely be back and maybe try that honey chicken that I spotted at another table, looked delicious.

First Timer here and liked it. Food was good. Crunchy krab salad had more flakes than actual krab. Roll was yummy and filling. Big rolls. Some places make them small. Would definitely go again.

Cozy spot! So many options for sushi. We ordered the Santana, Miami Heat, and the Godzilla roll. Loved them all. The Thai Donuts were okay. Next time I’m going for the Sushi Boat

This place never ever fails me. I went to have dinner last night and Joseph, our spectacular server, recommended the Madonna Tataki– boy oh boy was that an exceptional dish. So delicious that I’m craving some today. Not only is the food absolutely phenomenal here, but I’d be back just to get service from Joseph again. Every server can learn a thing or two from this class act waiter. Thanks for your sweet smile and amazing recommendations Jo!

Fully assaulting an eatery on Unilocal in pretty courageous. Here I go. I have given Sakura an entire 18 months of chances. Early on, DECENT quality fish, good service. Seems like it’s only getting worse. I took my #1 client to have lunch here… oh boy. The sashimi was stinky and slimmy, the tuna tataki was a card board, I can go and on. If you’re DESPERATE and gotta have your Japanese in ya, order the California roll. It’s tough to f*** that up.

The first time I tried this, my boyfriend and I decided we HAD to come back! It’s soooo good! There’s plenty of sushi places in Miami so it’s hard to find one that really stands out. We ordered the crab rangoons both times and they were sooooo good. For sushi, I got the Madonna roll which wasn’t on the menu — I think it’s something new they’re trying to eventually put on the menu. I really liked it, but in my opinion, the seafood on top was too much for me. I might get something else next time. It was still really good! Just not for me. Our server, Joseph was awesome too. I definitely recommend this place

I placed a to order and it was really disappointed by the lack of customer service! The place only have 2 tables enough servers to al least take care of the pick up orders, instead we get a young clown that has no matters and is too busy making his co-workers laugh !! The charged me and didn’t even gave me my order! I have to ask for it only to be pointed to my bag while the 3 servers look and went back to talking to each other I’m not even going to check if the food is ok. I just want to get out and never come back!

Excellent sushi! I had the Charashi and a Hamachi hand roll. Included Miso soup as well. The sushi was very fresh. The sushi chef was conversational and was very nice. Another person at the sushi bar had a ½ roll combo which looked amazing. Portions ate on the larger side. Looking forward to my next trip to Miami.

Had to update my review because I am a little disappointed. I have been a frequent customer to Sakura for years now. It’s my go to sushi place. Recently I have noticed a change in the service. The food is still the best I have no complaints about the food. The service has been slacking. I went two nights ago and I noticed our waiter was new. He was very awkward towards me and my girlfriend. I Noticed a family was having dinner and we’re waiting for their check. They asked the waiters for the check and the waiter was watching a video on a coworkers phone and kinda ignored their request for their check. The waiters were singing, playing around and honestly making a fool out of themselves. I think I’ll stick to takeout unless they change their ways. I really hate to give them 3 stars but being honest is the only way to see the things they have to fix.

I stumbled upon this restaurant as I was looking for a sushi place that I liked that was beyond Akashi. The reason the sushi is so appealing for me, is the unique rolls they have on the menu. My absolute favorite roll from here is the Waffle Roll(crab salad, shrimp tempura, avocado, cream cheese, tempura flakes & sweet sauce); add some sirracha sauce on the side and you’ve got the perfect combination of sweet, spicy, creamy and crunchy all in one roll. As a suggestion, Saukra gives you the option to do half rolls, I usually get a half roll of the waffle roll and another roll that I would like to try. A few rolls I or my friends have tried that loved are, Sea of Love roll, the Lissy roll and Divine roll. If you’re not a huge sushi person like my friend who freaks out over anything uncooked and from the sea, they have a huge selection of entrees both Korean and Japanese. I also noticed a Spanish influence as they have some churrasco dishes in their menu. They have an indoor and outdoor patio area to dine although I notice more takeout/deliveries happening. Oh and I almost forgot about the fried oreos! I don’t have to go into much detail about that as «fried oreos» should explain the yumminess… just make sure you go hungry!

Good tasting fish, fresh, nothing extraordinary. But service is super friendly but clueless… They brought two hot tea pots that were simple not hot. The waiter could not figure out how that happened, very slow to react when we pointed that out. Then food kept coming in but no one took the empty plates away. I am not crazy about this place, it is not even cheap.

Our attempt at trying something new turned out to be an awkward dining experience. From the waiter who smelled like cheap cologne who gave us lousy recommendations, to being too quiet in this little tiny restaurant(maybe people mostly order takeout?). I also wasn’t thrilled with the sushi. It was just«meh» and I’ve had better. We’ll skip out on this one next time.

Sushi is good, but cannot say the same for the service. Whatever you do, don’t order online. After waiting over an hour, I called only to be told a story about how my order went to another computer, not the one they use for online orders. No remorse. No apology. Only an «it’s the first time this happens» and«it’ll take 45 minutes.» More than enough for me to order elsewhere. There are lots of great sushi places.

Came here for lunch today. I am 9 months pregnant and about to give birth and ordered the only roll that is fine for me without raw fish, fried bagel roll. However, when I bit into the roll the salmon was COMPLETELY Raw, and the waiter showed no remorse for the situation. Never coming back here again, ruined my lunch.

Good neighborhood sushi spot. They have plenty of good rolls to choose from and let you get half portions(of 6 pieces-this you can try more!) They have some Thai options like pad Thai and fried rice, which are both good, but I mostly come for the sushi. They have lunch specials Mon-Fri and close a couple of hours before reopening for dinner, so be sure to check the times. My top picks are the Ricky Roll, which is tuna tartar and jalapeño topped with BBQ eel and the Godzilla roll which is salmon, crab, eel, avocado, and cream cheese deep fried as a whole. The OMG roll is another good one, but I like the caramel sauce on the side since it becomes intensely sweet being topped with sliced mango already. Tip: Ask for a side of spicy mayo to compliment any of these.

The place is cozy. The food is really good. The fried Oreo dessert is a melted Oreo inside a tempura batter. Out of this world.

I’ve come here a few times now for lunch with coworkers. I have to say the salmon sashimi is the best quality I’ve found in Miami. Prices are average for Miami sushi but factoring in the quality, they’re a great value. The service is consistently good. Give it a try– it won’t disappoint.

I’ve always enjoyed Sakura until tonight. Tried to order 3 adult entrees with sushi for delivery. However, since I ordered two kids meal they would not deliver. Who has ever heard of such thing. They don’t deliver because you ordered a kids meal. I was sick and needed food delivered. They’ve lost a loyal customer. Hope they change their ways!!!

I came by here with my girlfriend just because we were around the area and OMG this little gem is amazing. Firstly, the music they have playing is fun and casual. The fish is as fresh as can be. The Ricky roll is a must try. Also, for all you SAKELOVERS, BUNRAKU is one of the smoothest sake I’ve ever tried. And lastly, the servers and sushi chef are nice and attentive. They even gave us a complimentary dish. Oh Sakura, you’ll DEFINITELY be seeing our faces more often. Thank you for this pleasant experience.

I always drive by this location, but I never had the chance to try it out until today! The restaurant itself is very cozy, cute, and it has more of a home-y feel when you walk in. The seating is a bit packed, but they arranged the seating very well for the small size. The service wasn’t top notch, but I did come in as soon as they opened the doors and I won’t knock off points cause I’m positive they are more attentive in the evening. I did notice that the waiters were more attentive when more staff members and when more clients were walking in. Over all I was pleased and orders came in perfectly so no complaint here. One of the biggest problems I have with menus, especially sushi restaurants, is that I want everything but I can’t fill it all in. Luckily some items could be bought as half sizes. So I was able to buy more, but pay less. Which is my #1 favorite thing about this place. The sizes of the rolls are average, but they are a bit more creative when it comes to their food. Presentation is always key with sushi, so I was definitely impressed with how the rolls were brought out, on top of how they tasted! Their Thai Donuts are a must! I absolutely loved the size, the donuts were not greasy(like other restaurants), and they come with ice cream! I’m so happy I had finally been able to try this pace, and I can’t wait to be back!

If you are in the area, eat here. The sushi is great, they also have a great selection of Japanese dishes that are sure to please! We love the dragon, but they also have a hearty West Miami roll… good to share with four people. Do yourself a favor, go! Great spot!

This used to be my go to place whenever I had sushi craving because it’s close to my house, good, and affordable. But today has been the worst experience since I started going there. I ordered my usual salmon tartare which was my favorite and this time it lacked in flavor and was super fishy. They seemed to have used only the scraps of the salmon and wasn’t even cut properly. I was so excited when i saw it coming to my table but disappointed with the flavor. Also ordered the Ricky Roll with brown rice. The brown rice was SOMUSHY! I had to take off all the rice from the roll cuz it was such an unpleasant texture. They charged me $ 2 for that mushiness. Oh and it gets worse, there was a piece of Saran Wrap on the roll! When I pointed it out to the server he apologized but when the check arrived there was no discount to compensate for the plastic. We had to ask the server if he could give us a discount. He came back saying a 10% discount was applied and when I opened the checkbook I literally laughed out loud. They gave me a 10% discount of the roll only, not of the check!!! So only a $ 1.80 discount! Are u serious?! Wow… I wonder if they have new management or they really just don’t care about their customers anymore because after this, I definitely will not be going there or recommending it to anyone anymore. I also noticed that they added Korean food to the menu so maybe they did change owners.

I’m quite a fan of this hole-in-the-wall spot. Close to my work, I ventured here on a company lunch and left pleasantly surprised. The lunch specials were priced well and the portion size was larger than I expected. The Thai tea was a little too sweet, but I’ve generally found this to be true at Asian establishments run by non-natives. I had a sushi special — can’t really remember the name but I believe there was both salmon and tuna sashimi, as well as an avocado salmon salad. I also tried several coworkers’ rolls and enjoyed all of them. The presentation is nice and the fish is fresh. I’m definitely coming back on a work lunch as soon as I can!

Sakura is an awesome neighborhood gem! Their food is excellent(the Miami Heat sushi is a must try!!), they deliver in a good amount of time, the actual restaurant is nice for a date or dinner with friends, there is outdoor seating — and they speak English! We love this place! I left off one star however, because the last 3 times we ordered we asked for condiments such as hot sauce — stresses that we wanted hot sauce — and got none and the very last time we ordered we asked for two orders of the same thing and only received one and were told we ordered wrong(everyone that was with me heard me order two orders). There was no apology, just a nonchalant«okay, so what?» attitude from the guy on the phone. We’re willing to overlook these minor discrepancies if the food quality stays the same and the customer service works out those little kinks.

Came to dinner here last week and this place has really declined since my original review. They are in the middle of renovating which makes for an unpleasant dinning experience. According to our waitress they did not have green iced tea because of this and then she told us that the one they normally use is a powder so it isn’t even real green iced tea to begin with. Powder green tea… not exactly appealing. Lights were way too bright and harsh for a restaurant. They have raised their prices significantly and our tab for sushi for 2 was $ 80+ tip. While I could overlook the lack of ambiance and renovation issues if it was still reasonably priced I cannot overlook them at the prices they are now charging. This is a hole in the wall sushi place off 8 st. I cannot justify their prices and so the quest continues for a reasonably priced declicious sushi spot.

First time here and I followed the recommendations even including my favorite beef tataki. The sea of love is worth the hype. Always is the waffle roll. I felt at ease when I found out I could order half instead of the full. Since my main purpose was to try a bit of everythjng. As my boyfriend loved the south miami roll I had to pass. I’m not a fan of sweet sushi. But he loved it. I will definitely go again. Waitress was attentive and all smiles.

So incredibly disappointed in the service. Tried to place a delivery order via Eat24 app, but kept getting an error message saying I’m outside delivery area. I’m less than 15 blocks away and have had Sakura delivered before, so I call restaurant directly. They confirm that they do deliver and take my order online. When I ask if they’ll honor the eat24 coupon($ 2off) or manually apply a $ 2 credit, they say no. They tell me that they find it ‘strange’ that the app would tell me they don’t deliver to me when they do. Yes, I agree. I thought so too, but how is that my problem? So, rather than keep my business(present and future) they toss that aside over $ 2. Pretty pathetic that they’d throw away my $ 45 order over a $ 2 credit, but oh well. I’ll order my food from Bangkok Thai up the street on Bird Road. Their prices are more than reasonable anyway and their staff is fantastic. Or I’ll pick-up from Matsuri or Asian Kitchen or Sushi Saki or Akashi. Tons of options.
