By far one of the most memorable experiences ever! The amount of birthdays and anniversaries my family has had here. Open! Open! Open!

I’m giving it 3 stars because the first time I went with my husband everything was absolutely amazing! It was probably my favorite restaurant that time. The food was delicious and the ambiance was very romantic. The second time, however, wasn’t as great. The risotto we ordered wasn’t cooked properly and the other meals weren’t as great as the first time.

I just left the restaurant and it was amazing!!! The experience was wonderful. It was very romantic. You HAVE to order the Sea bass, the truffle risotto and the chocolate soufflé and the starter carpaccio is amazing and I don’t usually even eat that! Everything was so good and I will be going back soon

I came here for a Valentine’s dinner last night with my boyfriend and I must say that I was totally surprised. It is truly a hidden gem tucked away between the everyday Cuban corner café shops. My boyfriend made reservations a week prior and as soon as we came they sat us down. The staff was so attentive the second we got there. It is a six course meal so be ready to wait in between meals. The chef comes to your table to ask what you like or don’t like and if you’re allergic to something. We said«we eat everything» so I’m pretty sure other people did too. Yes we ended up eating the same as another table but you DO have the option of sending the dish back. It’s an experience like no other I’ve had in Miami. I would definitely go back. It’s a dim lit restaurant and everyone who says this place is not that great doesn’t appreciate what chef Romeo is trying to create here.

My dining experience at Romeo’s was a total let down. This«unique«no menu, custom made dinner is total B.S. Yes the chef comes to the table but for a total of 20 seconds to ask what you don’t like to eat and if you have any allergies. Then before you know it, two and a half hours later you end up eating the same prefixed meal everyone els in the restaurants is having. My wife and I will never go back to this place. .I’ve lived in Miami my whole life and consider my self a very well rounded individual and feel like I know a thing or two about fine dining and a unique culinary expediency. My friend this joint is anything but great. … it’s pretty much a scam. .stay clear away from it… or you too will get burned. Trust me for the price you end up paying and the quality of food presented there are many other places in Miami that you can choose from.

My dining experience at Romeo’s Café was beyond doubt, 5-stars. From start to finish, our 6-course meal was delectable and the experience felt like something unparalleled to most places in Miami. Our party of 6 was seated promptly and the Chef himself, Romeo came to our table to introduce himself and elaborate on his concept of no menus and gather our food preferences. The portions are small and there is time between the courses, so you feel satisfied at the end of the meal versus feeling gorged. So after opening a bottle of Napa Cabernet, Chef Romeo started us off with a delicious salmon carpaccio topped with capers. Our second course was home made pasta in venison sauce. The pasta was wide and flat and had that home-made-from-scratch look, and most importantly, taste! I had never tried deer before but Chef Romeo’s venison sauce was meaty, saucy, and perfect! The third course, seafood risotto, had to have been one of the most memorable courses. The risotto itself was soft, creamy and buttery perfection and the fresh, crunchy sea food complimented it exceptionally well. It was excellent. The risotto was followed by sea bass topped with a white wine sauce and lima beans. The chunky piece of sea bass was sooo juicy and just melted off itself the moment you put your fork through it. The final course was an option of beef, pork, or duck. I went with the pork and as soon as I tried it, I knew I had made the perfect choice! The pork chop came in a sweet and mildly spicy sauce with zucchini on the side. It had minimal fat, but just a little bit and all the flavors together made you just want to close your eyes and say, «wow». My boyfriend ordered the duck and although I don’t prefer duck myself, I tried it and it was very tasty and tender. Dessert options were pear tarte, tiramisu, or chocolate soufflé. Our table unanimously opted for the chocolate soufflé. It was a ball of fluffy chocolate perfection with a sweet, white, creamy sauce around it, paired with a bubbly dessert wine. We ended our meal with chamomile tea. Aside from the spectacular food, what I love most about this restaurant is its unique and intimate ambiance. It is definitely a romantic spot! I love the concept of no menu, as you are able to enjoy your whole experience with whoever you’re with and not worry about whether you will like what you ordered or not. You are assured that Chef Romeo will take care of you. I noticed that Chef Romeo tries to remember all of his guests and their preferences, which gives the experience a personal touch. He makes you feel like you are his personal guest, from the moment you are seated until he walks you out the door and thanks you for coming. Just a side note, this isn’t somewhere to wear shorts to. Not a casual place. My party dressed up very nicely and I was appalled to see a man wearing shorts and a polo shirt.

This was the most mediocre meal I have had all year. The setting and atmosphere are extremely antiquated, with terrible taste. Service was ok, however the server did not even remember that someone in our party did not eat meat(they asked). Unfortunately, the food was what disappointed me the most. Of the six plates, not one would be worth remembering. The fish was completely overwhelmed by the egg coating. The pork was undercooked. The risotto was undercooked. Very disappointed.

OMG! It was very late on a Saturday night but they were gracious enough to feed us… And so happy they did! The food… The fabulous personal service… The whole experience was very memorable… Very Novel ‘old school’ European dining. Your server sits you right away and soon comes back… «Chef wants to know all your food preferences and limitations». There are no menus per se. Bottom line, the Chef proceeds to prepare an AMAZING meal, just for you! By the way. Anything you are not COMPLETELY satisfied with will be replace by something else! Per your specifications. It was just a great experience,. This is a ‘no rush’ dining proposition, but for certain one you will not soon forget.

For what its worth it’s overpriced. Everything is drowned in sauce. Maybe Romeo’s café is not about the food but rather the experience of being surprised? I was not impressed with the food. I will say the salmon carpaccio was very good, the rest left me disappointed. The atmosphere is lovely because it is intimate, very small inside. Definitely looks and feels like restaurant you could find in Italy or Europe. Great staff and very attentive!

The lack of a menu provides for a unique dining experience. The chef/owner prepares your meal according to your likes and dislikes. Our 6-course meal was wonderful! He goes out of his way to make sure you are happy with the food. It was our second visit, and is a place we want to eat every time my friend is in the area. Wow, what a delightful experience! The meal was fantastic and the having the Chef come to the table was a treat. The surprise of what was coming next let to the dining experience. The food was flavorful and well suited to our taste. You may think the portions are small but by the time you are finished you will be full. I am not sure what some other reviewers are looking for but this was one of the best meals she have had in some time, including Europe, NYC, LA, Chicago, etc. It is pricey but what was delivered was worth every cent compared to faulty meals I have paid a little less for but received far lower food quality. I am sure the kitchen has staples they have positioned in advance of the chef’s visit(unless you expect truly singular meal prepared by a single chef which would be $ 600/plate and up!). However, our table of 3 each received different dishes all through the service, based on what we told Romeo. 6 courses which were delicately prepared and sauced(of which I am a tough critic). Afterwards, I was satiated but not uncomfortable, which was surprising due to the generous portions served. I will return again and I was to thank Chef Romeo for a wonderful meal and experience. Please move to São Paulo, so that she can often have your dishes, actually scratch that, I need her to come often and pay me the visit. Muito obrigada, um abraço.

Wow and wow! I had this saved from a week or so ago and just forgot. My first experience here was a few years ago. Not a thing has changed — and that is a good thing. First — heads up. There are only two seatings a night and the place is tiny. I am guessing it may seat up to 30 people. Make your reservations weeks in advance and leave your credit card at the door. It will set you back a few pesos. The service is to die for and the menu is really catered around your likes and desires. My guess is that there are ingredients in the kitchen from which to work and they are adjusted as needed. My first 4 course meal here had one course the same as my date’s — past there they were different. The portions are quite large and excellent for sharing. The tables for two allow people to sit together closely enough to sample. This is an experience and not a meal. Drink your wine, enjoy your companion and have a conversation as the table is cleared for the next course. If you have never had a «blind» dinner, this is the place to do it. I have been 3x over the years and have never been disappointed. What not 5 stars? The tables are too closely arranged, not romantic; The lighting is too dim; Parking is poor. Besides that, take the plunge, go to the«good» side of Miami and feel special!

How does one begin to describe one of the best meals of their life? I kid not, after years of travel and restaurant attempts, I had no idea that I’d experience the best in the tiniest, unpretentious little place tucked into a Coral Way shopping strip. My husband and I wanted to celebrate our 5th anniversary with an amazing meal and after being a bit overwhelmed by possibilities I put out a plea and was directed to Café Romeo’s(which wasn’t even on my radar). A 4 – 6 course prix fix meal determined on the spot by the restaurant namesake himself at either $ 60 or $ 90pp, it got my attention. We booked our 7:30pm spot and were set. I was a bit concerned when we walked in and were only one of two taken tables but the place filled in(24 or so seats) quickly after our arrival. We had originally intended on the 4 course meal but decided to splurge and went with 6 instead. I noticed that most of the wine selections were on the light side and with good reason, chef puts out an array of flavors that any of the wines listed would compliment perfectly. The sodas were priced at $ 4 each and I expect with the intention to keep anyone from drinking them, this is not the place for ketchup or coke. We gave him carte blanche and were so glad we did. He started us off with salmon carpaccio, then on to the most incredible pear and gorgonzola raviolis with a sauce that was out of this world(the little small, toasty bread was exactly what we needed to slop up all the sauce off the plates. Our third course was veal atop a perfectly cooked risotto and then sea bass in white white sauce with lima beans. The main was a delicious pork loin in a sauce that must have come from the heavens and cooked apples that made me eyes water with joy. My husband was served duck in a raspberry sauce, he claims it was the best duck he’s had in his life, crispy yet tender, I had to agree. For dessert I chose(the only choice one gets really) their pecan pie and my hubs the chocolate soufflé. Both were delicious but the pecan pie was perfection. Needless to say, it exceeded every expectation. I only wish I had cut back on the bread and had only one glass of wine instead of two to avoid the too full feeling that we carried for a bit after our meal. It was timed perfectly, though, with service that could put most places to shame. We plan to return again soon to indulge in whatever Chef Romeo might whip up for us. His love of food and his restaurant was apparent in every bite. Kudos to him for his passion and pursuit of perfection.

I went to Romeo’s several years ago for the first time and it was very good. My boyfriend took me back a couple of weeks ago to celebrate our 6 year anniversary. Needless to say, it was as good as I remembered it. There is no set menu. Romeo comes out and asks you if you like certain things, and you can also tell him what you don’t like. The menu is essentially a surprise. I had a deliciously light pinot that the waiter recommended to me as well. Anyways, the 6-course menu was completely outrageous. The rabbit and mushroom fettuccine was simply perfect(poor little rabbit =/). That was admittedly my favorite dish. By the time course 5 came along, I was pretty much stuffed and was not able to enjoy it was much — so pace yourself! It’s not cheap — $ 90/p without drinks or extras. But, it’s great for a special occassion.
