Nchillada

The atmosphere here can turn you away because this restaurant is housed in a food court that hasn’t been updated for decades. There is a broken escalator dingy cafeteria chairs from the 70s and a general feeling of uncleanliness. Also about half of the food stalks are out of business including the tiki bar. However the food itself at nchillada is plentiful and delicious. For 4.99 you get a big piece of meat plus 3 sides. I appreciate that the sides include healthy tomato and cuke salad or green pepper tomato salad with no oily dressing. This place stands out for their fresh colorful veggies. Of course there is rice and beans as well. If you can get take out instead of hanging out here you will be extra excited. I think a vegetarian would be happy here if they didn’t ask to many questions about how the beans are prepared.

Directly across from Isla Dorada and China Star is this Colombian food counter. Again any four items for just $ 4.99. Excellent portions and an excellent variety to select from. All sots of sauces to doctor up your lunch plate.
