My cousin and me went to get a sandwich but it was horrible. The sandwich made me go to the bathroom twice and it made my cousin get sick. Never again !!!

Someone told me the desserts were really good here. I stopped by to check them out. However, I wasn’t impress at all. There is a café and bakery in one location. They can work making the place look more attractive and cleaner. I had the chicken empanada, turkey & cheese sandwhich, cheese & guava pastry and dessert. I can’t remember which slice of cakes we brought… I wasn’t moved by the food. I had better.

I was disappointed in the quality of the food. We ordered a very large order of and the taste of the food was not that good. Cupcakes were dry and frosting was sugary sweet but lacking the buttercream flavor. The cheese pastelitos hardly had cream cheese and the bocadito filling was thinly spread, had a lot of red food coloring and I even got a piece of ham bone in my bocadito. The mini croquetas were good. It is a shame.

Thought it would be nice stopping by a local bakery. Big mistake … Ordered a Cuban to split with the hubs and there was a long black hair in it as soon as I picked it up. :x I showed to the woman that served it and she immediately made a face and took the sandwich back with an attitude like it was my fault. The pastels were alright, nothing special. I thought this would be a diamond in the rough… Nope!

The 4 of us ordered various items, drinks and desserts and every bite was phenomenal! I can’t say enough about how much I loved this place. Service and décor were awesome. The food was so good I can’t stop thinking about it and hope to get back there again soon. The vibe was cool, fun and lively! The whole experience made me happy!

I love this place, and I love people watching here. The owners are incredible, and the pan con lechon is everything. Their selection of pastelitos is a pastelito-lovers dream, and their pan de queso is heavenly. Love, love, love this place & the camel outside. Don’t let the appearance fool you, it’s worth a shot!

I stumbled upon this bakery also(while on my way to explore the large Goodwill across the street);I couldn’t believe how delighted I was by all the pastries as well as the plain crackers, which I had to purchase a package of(and ate way too quickly while traipsing around). I wish I had purchased more of their other items,(pastries, sandwiches etc) but I could not lug all the stuff and the idea of eating it at once while appealing, would have made me feel guilty for the rest of the trip. I had not read the Unilocal reviews before, so didn’t know what a gem this place has already been labeled. The outside ‘décor’ is quite ‘old school’ and charming. One added bonus for me: i attempted to speak Spanish and seemed to be understood-always a delight for me, especially since my command of the language has deteriorated as I have aged… Yes, it can be an adventure in the culinary department, but why not. Isn’t that what eating is all about? Hope it doesn’t change a bit… And the prices are very low… As i Said a bit of a throwback…

The BEST bakery in all of south Florida. I even tweeted it on my twitter page. This place is a gem. You must stop by here and grab a pastry. My favorite is the pastelito and papa rellena. So delicious. They even sell mounsieur papa mango nectar drinks which are hard to find in that area! It’s heaven.

Not bad. I went inside because of the exterior decoration when I drove by before… Inside there was one side bakery, and one side cafeteria. I didn’t try the cafeteria foods but the price looked to be very affordable. What I tried are those tasty Cuban pastries on the right side of bakery. They have like 10 different flavors… coconut, guava, apple, pineapple, pork, beef with cheese or without… I bought all the different kinds back to try. And they all turned out delicious, and they taste very fresh. Each pastry is like only $ 0.75, i bought a week worth of breakfast pastries for less than 8 bucks… it’s a steal… I used to buy those cuban pastries at Winn-Dixie and they are really bad and over priced… Not here. I definitely would come back often to grab some pastries from time to time.

So, this place will get your attention as you drive past, like Jordan said a camel outside and pastel pink building. Kinda strange yep, but it does make you look. Have been in here many times to grab a quick sandwich(Cuban) it’s very good here, they also offer many hot lunches changed daily. All of their food is prepared fresh and for as reasonable as the prices are it’s good. The case in the front is filled with all kinds of Cuban desserts. I have bought so many different desserts here for party’s and it has always gone over well with the crowd. Fresh squeezed juices, coffee is good. The service is friendly and good, sometimes I have a bit of a hard time because they really do not speak much English but somehow I always get what I order. It’s a good little bakery, no not my favorite but in a pinch they come through for me. Worth checking out, prices are good. Would be nice if they updated the place as it is quite old, but looks to be pretty clean.

I was lured here not because of gossip, although I think I may have heard about this place before… why? Well, where else are you going to find a rotating camel in front of a Cuban bakery? What does a camel have to do with a bakery? I have no idea at all… and probably the owners wouldn’t even know either, but that camel is still going around and around and around… But anyways, besides the tackiness that’s evident outside and inside(it screams pastel-colored pink and blue-green Miami with everything vintage/old, stools and all)… the food. The pan con bistec is decent, nothing special. It is not my favorite by any means, but it was $ 4.50 and it’s okay for a cheap quick grub. Again… nothing special. The stuff in the casing… here’s what I ordered: pan de queso, cheesecake flan(?!), cachito or pan rollado de jamon y queso, a Cuban kolache/pig in a blanket(sorry, I don’t know the name, but if you see it, you’ll know what I’m talking about), and pan dulce. But before I go into details, this place is cheap. Even the elderly lady who runs the place would save whatever napkins I pulled out from a canister if it was not used. Even if it’s just two thin pieces of napkins. And with that being said… Pan de queso(bread stuffed with cheese) was a little skimpy on the cheese. Maybe the smaller sized ones would be better. I still like the ones from Don Pan better. Cheesecake Flan — maybe I never noticed it in other bakeries, but the flans were were HUGE and that’s because there’s a cheesecake right underneath. It’s a typical cheesecake topped with a typical flan, which I thought was cool. It was okay, nothing special, but I would think maybe the flan diplomatico is even better — since that one has cheesecake with another flavoring(strawberry i think). Pan de jamon y queso — this one is stuffed with ham and cheese, something I normally would call ‘cachitos.’ But in this bakery, it was no good. The ham was tasteless. So, avoid. Pan dulce just has little dulce cream inside — it wasn’t enough to make the pan dulce as moist as I would like it. Plus… maybe it was a tad bit too sweet. But… then again, all the breads here were somewhat sweet tasting, so why would you want pan dulce unless if you want something sweeter than sweet? Cuban kolache — at first glance, I knew the sausage wasn’t just sausage… it was a chorizo! And so that’s what made me call it a Cuban kolache… and I must admit, if I was coming back to this bakery, I would make it for the point of stopping to eat their kolaches — it’s probably my favorite part of the breaded goods. Plus, I’m not familiar on where else one can get kolaches in Miami… It’ll be nice to have it for a small breakfast alongside with their $ 1 cortaditos. Oh, and that reminds me, I don’t think anything in the glass case was over $ 1.50 — they all must have been just $ 1.125 or something cuz 4 small things came out to be $ 4.50. Perhaps the breakfast items here would be better — they also have fresh squeezed orange juice. PROS: kolaches, coffee, bilingual staff, parking, rotating camel(hey, I had to throw that one in there) CONS: rest of the breaded goods, nothing special — definitely not among my favorite Cuban bakeries in Miami.
