Killer Melts

I ate this amazing food at the Magic City Casino food truck rally. They are AMAZING. The bacon Mac and cheese melt is TOO good.

Crazy crazy good! I had the bacon melt tonight and the loaded fries… one world… AWESOME!!! I will follow this truck wherever it goes. Not to mention the owner and staff are super cool and accommodating. Awesome food!!!

Taking our fam from out of town to Arts Park for the Monday Night Food Trucks was going to be an experience for them; as well as us since this was our first time making it out!
We knew we would be faced with a Grilled Cheese option so everyone had that gooey-​cheesy melt on their mind even before we arrived and while doing our first walk through. This was not hard to find as it was one of the first 5 trucks we ran into. The truck itself is very nice, clean, and new! They have great options to create your own sandwich or you can choose one of the melts they created on the menu.
All five of us opted for this truck and picked off of their menu! The sandwiches of course sounded fantastic but my husband and I wanted to try more than one food truck so we split the Killer Melt. This comes with Bacon Jam, Caramelized Onions, Melted Muenster, and Cheddar Cheese. The crust was perfectly golden and crunchy but ALL that OIL and GREASINESS couldn’t be missed.
This sandwich was soaked in grease with the first bite making it super filling and unappetizing. When you live so close to the best grilled cheese you can ask for a.k.a NYGC Co then you expect each grilled cheese to be up to par or you compare and judge maybe too harshly. This might be the case but I would never order another Grilled Cheese from this truck.
For their beautiful truck and customer service I left a star but I would not recommend getting one of their melts. Our group was mixed and all sandwiches came out super greasy which results in upset stomachs for the rest of the night.

I’ve ordered from Killer melts twice now at two different food rallies. Overall, solid sandwiches and very consistent quality. They can take a bit long to get the sandwich out though.
I kind of don’t like the idea pf paying 8 bucks for a grilled cheese sandwich, but I’ll admit they make some good grilled cheese. I’d probably go back and try something else off their menu.

I had this one today and it was very very good. The caramelized onions and bacon jam make all the difference! I definitely recommend this melt. Personally I like over the top food, so I would like larger portions of onions and bacon jam, but I know you run the very real risk of making the sandwich too soggy, thick, and runny. But the caramelized onions and bacon jam are a great zing to the grilled cheese.

I choose this over a slew of other food trucks, and I am so glad I did!
I got a Cuban sandwich with Mango mustard – WOW! Even the pickles had a little zing in them, and the bread was crunchy, with a delicious caramelized exterior. Delicious lechon, tucked right in there, so soft and tender.
We choose to share the fully loaded fries, and I am so glad we did. The picture, to me at least in the dark, did not really look that appetizing. I am not sure I realized it was lots of crispy little bacon crumbles – in the dark it almost looked like a dark gravy or bbq sauce. But no, chives, bacon crumbles, cheese and sour cream. OMG! It took three people to finally finish it off.
I would definitely get the Cuban sandwich here again – in fact, it may be the best Cuban I have had so far.

Tried this food truck for the first time today, and it was love at first bite! In fact, my reaction was «wow, that’s killer»…and then I realized the name on the truck. There were four of us eating, so we got to try a few items: 1. Brie on a french baguette with carmelized pears and walnut pesto. 2. Pulled pork with cheddar. 3. Mac and cheese melt. 4. Caprese (mozzarela, tomato, pesto, balsamic glaze). And the winner is? I HAVE NO IDEA! Each sandwich was pure perfection. We also sampled the bleu cheese fries. Smothered in bleu cheese sauce (NOT dressing) and finished off with some bacon, scallions and balsamic glaze, they were sinfully delicious.
I certainly look forward to the next time we see this truck! Worth every calorie!
If I could make a small suggestion? A few tall tables and a garbage can would be nice.

This is definitely one of the best food trucks in Miami! The chef, Kevin, is the nicest guy. We have been regulars of his for a long time and I really feel he is a talented and creative chef. Everything he’s ever made me has been delicious. I have to eat from this truck whenever I see it. My husband loves the Blue Cheese and Bacon and the Buffalo melts. I recently had a melt with goat cheese, bacon and caramelized onions (a make your own) and it was so amazing. They are never soggy, and stuffed, no skimping here! In my opinion, they are WAY better than the other grilled cheese trucks we have available.

Never thought I’d be reviewing a food truck, but these people are really good! Best grilled cheese I’ve had in a very long time. Not a greasy & soggy sandwich like so many others make. Good variety of bread, cheeses, & protein items to put inside (i.e., bacon).
They boast of hand cut fries, and I would say these are as good a French fry as you’ll find in any restaurant, anywhere. Awesome killer fries! Large enough for sharing but I promise you, your friends WILL devour your fries if you are the generous type.
And as any grilled cheese aficionado knows, nothing goes as well with your sandwich as a cup of tomato soup. Killer Melts has blue cheese in their soup which takes some getting used to if you’re a tomato soup purist. I’ll need to try the soup again, as I’m not a blue cheese veteran, before I pass judgement on the soup.
All in all, the best food truck grilled cheese and the most unbelievably good fries. You won’t be disappointed.
