This Food Truck is reliable when I’m looking for tasty food. I ordered the Mahi Tacos and for the first time — the Truffle Mac n’ Cheese. OMG… both of these options are so so good. I wish that their menu had more of a selection, but they have perfected what they currently offer.

Ok. So last night at the Wynwood Brewinging Co. block party, one of my friends passed out from the heat. Purple People Eatery stepped up and brought her food, free of charge. There was a long line of people waiting but they were very understanding of the situation and were very accommodating. Great service and thank you! On other occasions, I have had their food and it is delish! Good quality food! Great Mac and Jack!!! Great staff!

Purple People Eatery is consistently the best food truck at Second Saturday Art Walk in Wynwood. Everything I’ve tried on the menu is very good; a few items are outstanding. The tacos are my favorite – both the carnitas and the mahi mahi are some of the best I’ve ever had. The mac n’ jack is excellent. Sides like the truffle fries and the jojos are also very good. The burgers are great, although they don’t hold a candle to the tacos. Be ready for a longer wait compared to other food trucks, especially if there’s a line. In my opinion, it’s worth every minute.

I’ve been really looking forward to eating at Purple People Eatery. Their truck really catches my attention and I love the fact that they have bison on their menu. I’ve been dieing to try them out and tonight I finally gave them a shot. I ordered the blackened bison burger, specifically the black and blue. I was not too impressed by it… It had bacon and blue cheese which worked well and gave the burger most of its flavor. Overall the burger itself I would rate as a 3 out of 5. The burger wasn’t horrible… but i know I wouldn’t order it again. The reason why I am giving Purple People Eatery a 2 is because of such a high price for such a small portion. $ 6 – 8 would be an appropriate price for that large slider. $ 10 for a burger patty that size is an overkill, definitely a bad value!

Got the Mac and Jack since it caught my attention. It was very good with all the cheese and good small side dish for two to share. On the other hand, the service was terribly slow. I hope they can get into a groove or hire another to make the flow better.

Purple People Eatery has made two appearances in what little social life I do have so far, one at 2nd Saturday in Wynwood and the other at 1st Friday at Flamingo Gardens. I have a feeling this sexy food truck gets around. These guys got me addicted to their Street Potato Jojo’s. I didn’t even stand a chance. I proceeded to blab about them, google them, try to make them myself and utterly fail, dream about them. I tend to latch onto things I really like so I doubt I’ll do much more taste-testing on their menu. Miami Mahi was also fantastic and the fellow loved his truffle bison burger. They’re thoughtful with their portion sizes. But man, those Street Potato Jojo’s…

The Black & Bleu bison burger is awesome. Get a side of the Truffled loaded cheese fries and you won’t regret it.

I’ve seen this food truck numerous times but hadn’t had the opportunity to try anything from them until today and I must say that I am terribly disappointed in myself for not trying them sooner. The SO, brother and I split one of their tasty(& huge) Bison Black and Bleu burgers. Amazingly delicious and well worth the $ 10. We also split the loaded truffle fries, which are like nothing I’ve ever had before. Usually people go overboard when using truffle oil and it overwhelms any other flavors, but these guys were spot on. The scallions, melted cheese, fresh crème and bacon combined with the truffled fries was nothing short of a amazingly delicious. Can’t wait til my next encounter with the Purple People Eatery!

Good food truck, with tasty mac and cheese. It’s a serious amount of food, and weighs about 2 pounds. You’ll need to split it… It won the New Times award, but I feel there is better mac around Miami. The owners are very nice and the good is well done. I’m not crazy about«the truck» experience, but every so often I’m dragged into the fray.

I’ll admit it, the purple and the name drew me in. I’m a sucker for anything purple and creative. I got the Mac N Jack sans bacon. Since it had broccoli in it, it made me feel a bit better since this girl has not been eating her greens lately. I am not a huge fan of crumb crusted casseroles but the herbs mixed in made all the difference in the world. The smoked gouda made it all the more glorious. And it was only $ 5 and more than enough to split between two people! They have bison burgers on their menu and I will definitely be trying that the next time I see them! I’m a bit confused what their«hook» is but I will definitely go back to them in the future!

My boyfriend had the bison burger. While it was delicious, it wasn’t huge, a little smaller than the average restaurant burger. Cool that it is made from grass-fed Bison, though. Moving on, three of us shared the gouda & broccoli mac n cheese. What an absolute disappointment! It was so bland and had a very strange undertone and after taste. Honestly, it surely didn’t taste like gouda to me. Either it was the cheapest, poorest quality or it wasn’t gouda at all. It’s pretty hard to screw up mac n cheese but they somehow managed to. i’d probably eat here again — bf says he for sure would — but I won’t touch the mac n cheese. They should really remove it from the menu!

I was stoked that we stumbled across this truck during our excursion to art walk, as I’d heard rumors about their fabulous veggie sandwich and was jonesing to try it! I wasn’t disappointed. The sandwich was delicious, with a great combo of hummus, feta, tomatoes, olives, etc. Echoing what Rebecca said — it’s hard to find good vegetarian options when it comes to food trucks, so this was a nice treat. I’d totally hit them up again, and even go out of my way to get my hands on this sammy again. Also desperately wanted to try the broccoli mac & cheese, but I know that’d be wayyyy too much. Next time!

People People Eatery is a refreshing change from the many unorginal food trucks specializing in grilled and/or bbq meat, burgers, tacos, or sweets — it’s nice to see something different and unique, and even better that it’s purple. With SO many trucks to choose from nowadays, over 20 at Art Walk, this one stands out. Besides being obsessed with this movie and song once upon a time, I loved my sandwich too, the Club Med: stuffed with hummus, avocado sauce, lettuce, tomatoes, cucumbers, etc. It was perfectly healthy with its assortment of veggies and sauces, and of course, tasty AND vegetarian friendly — a rarity in the foodtruck world. Kudos to them! I’d love to try some of the sides next time too.

As soon I laid my eyes on the flamboyant purple truck stationed in front of my apt, I chucked my half eaten panini and walked over hoping it was in fact a food truck. Overall I enjoyed the California Bison Burger with a few picky complaints. It came with glazed potato buns which were sweet and chewy. This combined with the sweetness and fruitiness of the pineapple did not mesh well with the saltiness of the feta cheese, it was a bit nauseating for me. The«meat» of the problem was that the buffalo was overcooked, dry, and unseasoned. In my opinion the earthiness of a whole wheat bun would have gone well with the lean buffalo meat sprinkled with a touch of fleur de sel, freshly cut avocados(instead of brown oxidized avocado spread), a touch of feta(instead of their overpowering mound), grilled local portobellos, and some standard organic leaf lettuce(instead of arugula). Overall I would return to this truck just mainly for the novelty of the bison meat. Just make sure to warn them not to overcook the burgers.

Now understand the food truck craze. You will too if you try the jojo sweet potato fries and bison burger with BBQ sauce and blue cheese! Definitely scrumptious and reasonably priced.

I checked out the Purple People eatery at the Stage for Family Style. It was pretty cool to have this truck here at this venue providing food while listening to some cool old school beats complete with break-dancing crews. We sampled the Black and Blues — Blackened buffalo mini burger with creamy bleu cheese, shallots, peaches and bbq sauce. Two came for $ 10 which I thought was a pretty good deal — they are in between a slider and a quarter pounder in size. These burgers were AWESOME. I found the buffalo to be pretty flavorful — most buffalo I’ve tasted was pretty bland due to the leanness of the meat. The tangy cheese and the sweetness of the BBQ sauce worked perfectly and the crispy shallots provided some great crunch in the middle of it all. We also tried the Mac N Jack($ 5) which is Herb crusted broccoli mac n cheese with Monterrey Jack, Colby, Sharp Cheddar, and Smoked Gouda. I am very sad to report that the Mac N Jac was very average to below average. First of all there was no «mac» in the mac & jac. While this can probably be forgiven with a good pasta alternative, the pasta was in fact a tricolor rotini that could have come from a box on a shelf from Publix. The cheese was not very creamy at all, and was on the salty side, and the broccoli didn’t bring much to the plate either. I’m sad to say that a Kraft Deluxe box with Velveeta would have been much, much better. Deflintely not worth the hour on the treadmill to burn that one off… I also noticed that the Purple People Eatery is a supporter of the«Slow Food Movement». Well they may have meant the time it takes to get the food. The girl told me it would take about 5 – 6 minutes and it was really closer to 20. I’ll give them a break since a buffalo burger probably needs to cook, but I was the only one in line at the time. Also regarding the«Slow food movement», I didn’t really see anything on the menu that featured local cuisine or locally sourced ingredients. They can do a much better job letting us know what local produce is being featured like Jefe’s does every week…

I LOVE purple!!! Anyone who knows me can tell you that. So, imagine how excited I was when I saw my very first food truck and it’s called Purple People Eatery. It’s like it was made for me. :p With my purple phone in hand(had to take a picture of it), I walk to the window to place my order. The one thing that immediately called my attention was the Mac N Jack — herb crusted broccoli Mac n Cheese with Monterey Jack, Colby, Sharp Cheddar, and Smoked Gouda, for $ 5.00. My order was ready in less than 5 minutes, right size pieces of broccoli, not soggy, cheese was perfectly melted and evenly distributed on the tricolor macaronis, making a perfect bite. They even have some chairs outside their truck, with a bit of shade for you to enjoy your food. Maybe, by now, Miami sees food trucks as an everyday thing but, for this Boca girl, that had only seen them on TV or read reviews about them, this was the perfect food truck experience.

Oh wait I see a gorgeous purple flashy shiny, new piece of metal giant truck what is this beautiful thing offering? Purple People Eatery, and what a fab name. I stroll over to look at their menu, this was only their second night out flashing their purple prettiness. They did not have any menu’s printed but as soon as I walked up I saw taped to the window, «Tonight’s Special Ropa Vieja Sandwich» $ 5. Yay, yay, my first truck to hit up and it is something I really like. And they have bottled water for only $ 1, where most other trucks charge $ 2. The lady who took my order was very friendly. I stood off to the side and she called my name moments later, the wait time was good not like some other truck monsters. Seriously, one truck we waited over 30 minutes, um crazy! The sandwich was on a soft hamburger type bun filled with juicy, tender good flavored beef. Each bite was better than the previous. It is hard to eat and can get messy, good size, well actually small but very filling. So, yes this sandwich made me a fan it was very very good and tasty. The only thing is I did not realize it came with cheddar cheese. I love cheese but not necessarily on a ropa sandwich. Next time I will tell them to hold the cheese then it would have been perfect in my eye’s. Prices were reasonable as they should be. So enjoyed my sandwich and your beauty of a very nice looking truck. I want a small little replica of your truck, it’s that pretty. Rolling on, see ya soon!
