So after I was done with my nails I was hungry because I didn’t have lunch. So I remembered this place because I was craving some pan de bono, the place is little, no than many seats and the menu is displayed on top of the counter. So I was gonna order some pan de bonos when I saw this golden pieces of heaven than were calling my name… «Norma take us with you!!!» So I did. And almost forgot about the pan de bono, but didn’t ;) I also ordered two cortaditos, they were good too. The empanadas were a good size and crispy on the outside. The pan de bono was soooooo good!!! So gooey on the inside. If you’re in the area you have to try this place. After all they’ve been making Pan de Bonos for 100 años!!! :-O Enjoy!!!

I come here a few times a month to pick up empanadas for the office. Their empanadas are AWESOME! Customer service is good and you can always call ahead to ensure the order is ready when you get there. Highly recommendable. :)

Local Columbian bakery in Kendall that does delicious pan de bono and meat empanadas. Small location located on Sunset Dr where the Navarro is. They offer some Columbian delicacies like their pan de bono and meat empanadas. The pan is dense and has cheese in it which makes it that more delicious and there baked. The meat empanadas are with a potato and meat mixture that’s wrapped around with a corn sheet and are fried. They also have daily specials and have a variety of Columbian sodas. The staff is friendly and bilingual.

Bottom line is I didn’t love it. The pan de bono was tough and on the cold side. I don’t like fried empanadas so needless to say I didn’t much care for the two bites I had of my husband’s(he liked them).the food just looked a little stale/old. Not my cup of tea but if you like very greasy/heavy food items you might have a winner here.

Staying at a hotel in Kendall, I was not sure what culinary treasures I would find. I agree with Jaclyn G. 100%. Them pandebonos are certainly top-notch. Consider that bf and I arrived around 11 am, when they were no longer super fresh. They weren’t even housed in a heated case(which probably dries out its contents) so the pandebonos were not even warm. When I took out the first one, I was disappointed because of its lack of warmth. But the first bite changed everything. First off, these pandebonos are chunky, they are probably the chubbiest ones that I’ve gotten. But size aside, the actual texture of the pandebono(which is what makes or breaks a respectable one) was incredible. The exterior was not greasy and just crispy enough. Crispy isn’t even the right adjective and if you’ve eaten pandebonos, then you probably know what I mean, but when you bite through it, it yields with no resistance and your mouth is met with the crossroads of chewy, light cheesy, and maybe even ever-so-slightly sweet perfection. I cannot compare it to anything else. I’ve heard that pandebonos are like Brazilian pao de queijo, but I cannot confirm that. I had 2 and bf had 2. We also got empanadas, he got 2 fried yuca ones filled with chicken and I got a baked spinach-filled one. Yeah, I know what you’re thinking, why the hell would I get an empanada that is(1) baked and(2) filled with Popeye’s leafy green of choice. Seriously though, it was extremely tasty and a good counter to my 2 pandebonos. I got so excited and ordered a buñuelo and an arepa with cheese(but not the choclo variety) to boot. Bf also got a piece of chicarron, which was about 8 inches long with pork fat and meat fried to a crisp. He enjoyed all of his food and let me get a bite of one of the empanadas. Excellent and different from other ones that I’ve tried, since the outside is made of fried yuca. The chicken filling was wonderfully seasoned and they did not skimp on it. He chomped on his chicarron with joy and I turned down his offer to get a bite(I just feel weird eating pure pork fat like that, call me crazy). The buñuelo was magnificent as well(though pandebonos win it for me) but I noticed in the car(after we’d left the parking lot) that the lady at the counter failed to include my arepa. That knocks a star off for me. But when I am back in the area, I will stop by. Maybe future experiences will change my mind.

Awesome colombian bakery dishing out probably the best pandebonos, almojabanas and empanadas in Kendall. Pan de yuca not as good as macitas, however this is a can’t miss for weekend colombian breakfast!

Here’s a challenge for you, Miami. Best pandebono in the city… ready, set, GO. … Yeah, we’ve had croqueta crawls. Cuban sandwich crawls. Mojito crawls. Cuban-Quinceañera-cake-with-guava-filling-and-fondant-rosaries crawl(ok, not really… but hello?! Awesome.) All with the goal of determining what spot reigns supreme. But, olvidalo mijo. I’m telling you right now — you don’t need all that jazz. The pandebono at this place is the deal, yo. I’ve had a couple of samples around town: Pueblito Viejo, Macita’s, Los Arrieros, Panaderia 20 De Julio. I mean, they’re a-ight. They’ll satisfy the itch in a pinch. But more often than not they’re a bit too tough for my taste or really tiny. The difference here? Size. These suckers are generous. And the crusty exterior to soft doughy interior ratio is just right. With just the perfect hit of sweetness to satisfy that sweet tooth. And yes — they’re gluten-free, ya’ll. They’re made with yucca(a root vegetable) and cheese, so imaginate, mija. Bonus round: the empanadas(made with cornmeal — also gluten free) and arepas are the tits. The young’uns tell me that means they’re really good. Whatever.

Pop Quiz: You’re on the hunt for Miami’s best pandebono. Where do you go? A Colombian bakery would be a decent start but Cien Anos de Pandebono would be the correct answer. Literally translating to 100 years of pandebono — for my English-only muchachos. This stuff tastes like they’ve been perfecting the recipe for 100 years. It’s a small bakery in east Kendall with enough room for a couple of bar-style seats along the window. A typical Latin bakery with minimal decoration, a big hot-case to display their wares and a cooler with beverages and desserts. Their chicharrones, traditional corn shelled empanadas and of course the pandebono are out of this world. My favorite thing to do Saturday morning is to go sweat out my weekly hangover then hit up Cien Anos for the aforementioned delights, take them home and savor each with a cup of coffee. You can always just occupy one of the few in-shop seats and then be on your way after grubbing down. Either way, the shop staff will always be welcoming and helpful.

Love love love!!! What is not to love about this Colombian bakery! Arepa con queso, hot melted cheese inside of an arepa. Omg my favorite! My mouth is watering at this second! Empanadas delicious with a perfect crisp. My mom got me hooked on pan de huevo. So soft and tasty, perfect with coffee in the mornings. I love weekend breakfast with a variety of goodies. Pan de bono and bunuelos are a great pick as well. This is my favorite bakery to get yummy treats!

This place, quite literally, saw me grow up from nerdy awkward teenaged youth to, well… awesome geek. It’s a great Colombian bakery, way better than El Tejadito, which has a few bakeries strewn about haphazardly(FIU, Miller &137th). It’s a family-run business, which means they’re hands on with the quality and flavor of their food. Their bunuelos & empanadas are amazing, and they also have brunch & dinner options. The«sweet» arepa is known as «choclo», which is like creamed corn. It sounds weird when I translate it, but it’s delicious and you should just eat it. The«white» arepa is made out of regular corn meal, and is usually eaten with more savory sides. Seating is available, but it’s best to take it to-go; there’s usually a crowd waiting for the next batch of food to be ready.

I had a craving for a sweet Colombian Arepa. Visit this place with a Colombian friend, not only had a sweet arepa but also a white arepa! I ate both and didn’t share! Also, had a Mango juice! Everything was good! This place is small. But, you can eat in. They have counters and stools against the wall. Place was clean and staff was friendly!
