Despite all the negative reviews, me and my wife decided to give them a try, we sit down we order and they bring us complimentary corn like every Peruvian joint and suddenly i find a piece of rice with dryed out sauce, all mixed with the corn, Repugnant, type of place that gives you leftovers, i almost threw up. And the owner was just sorry, i could never eat at a place that recycles other guest food that is illegal and i will report it

A friend of mine convinced me to buy a groupon and try this place since I’m Peruvian. Here is my review for my first time experience. Service: We were the ONLY table at lunch during the weekend. It seemed that they were not ready to open and we caught them by surprise. We were seated promptly and we asked(prior to ordering) that we were 2 families(8 in our party) with 2 groupons each. Of course, she objected saying it was 1 groupon per table regardless of the split bills. She did not bend the rules for the only customers … Okay,(first strike) we accepted the terms and rules of participation. The waitress brought Peruvian cancha and water for the table. Then, we proceed to order a ceviche mixto, jalea, arroz con mariscos and tallarin verde — no appetizers. They did NOT bring the food at once. First they brought the ceviche; 8 mins later the jalea and arroz con mariscos. When asked for the tallarin verdes(needleless to say that we were all finished by then) she said that it was coming … 10 minutes later(second strike). There were no apologies, no refills and no contact with the waitress until the bill came(no cleaning the table either) –third strike. Flavor: The ceviche was OK. I’d give 3 stars out of 5. It lacked a bit of taste and it was an small portion(compared to other Peruvian restaurants for the same price) stingy with the sweet potato and maybe a dozen grains of corn. The jalea portion was personal and fulfilling. A few pieces of fried yucca and the salsa criolla on top. I’d give it 3 stars out of 5. The arroz con mariscos was sodden(too much water) and it reminded me of cuban asopao(if you like this texture, shouldn’t be called arroz con mariscos, but asopao instead) and you could taste the vinegar or wine used at the end. It had an acidic after taste, but was edible. I’d give 2 stars out of 5. The tallarin verde was awful. It was the worst I have eaten in my life. The steak was breaded and dry(the menu said it was bistek, so I expected a very well made piece of steak). The taste of the pesto seemed an Alfredo sauce with basil. Where was the queso fresco??? Hum, not good. It was really bad. I’d give 0 stars out of 5. Price and cleanliness: Price was fair for the entrees. However, I felt that the ‘comida criolla’ authentic Peruvian dishes were at the same price as the seafood when it shouldn’t. Clean place. Restrooms well decorated and clean — as you would expect on any new place. Overall: If the food is awesome you can forgive the service. Or, if the service is amazing you can forget the lack of flavor. But what happens when is both? Ceviche y Limón missed the taste of authentic Peruvian moreover they lacked of good service. I would strongly advise the owner/manager to train their staff for customer appreciation. The way the waitress came across(being the only table for 30 minutes) was rude. She did not want to serve nor help. They need passion for the food and to treat the customer better. In addition, seems that the coupons/groupons/discounts are not well accepted. Please don’t advertise if you don’t like us to use it. Smile, smile and more smiles will probably help if you want to stay in business. I would try this place again when Unilocal raises their stars. There are too many Peruvian restaurants in the neighborhood with better food and service for me to get a mediocre experience here.

Food is your average Peruvian cuisine. Where this restaurant totally missed the mark is on service. I ordered delivery and the delivery driver called me and told me to come outside. He was not even parked in my driveway. I actually had to walk to the street and pickup my food from him without him even bothering to get out of the car and walk up my food to my door. This was after charging an $ 8 delivery and leaving a tip on Grubhub which I cannot get back now. Never get delivery from this restaurant.

I come here almost once a week. The ceviche is so fresh and delicious. The loma saltado is very flavorful. The papa a la huncaina is amazing too. If you’re in the mood for quality peruvian food ceviche y limon is a great choice. I highly recommend it.

It was the best ceviche I’ve ever had in my life! We had the ceviche with the corvina fish. We loved it!

Well first of all, shame on me for not Unilocaling this place before going. But that’s what happens when you’re starving. Oh well! So I walk in to order a ceviche to go. The lady was nice she gave me a menu. As I looked over it, I heard her talk about the ceviche special to a table next to me. Mango ceviche with shrimp and fish. I didn’t ask the price thinking it was about the same price as the other ceviche on the menu. When she gives me the check my eyes about bulged out of my sockets! $ 24.95 I thought I was at South Beach! I had asked her if it was good she said yes! So I left when I got back to my office to eat I remove the plastic wrap on the Styrofoam container. Open up to see a ceviche that doesn’t look so appetizing. The Cilantro looked old, the mango was no so ripe. I wonder if the put mango juice from a can to make it sweet. At least that’s what it tasted like. The Shrimp were tough and the fish had membrane that I couldn’t even chew. I ended up only eating the shrimp from the hunger I had. That was the worst $ 25 Ceviche I’ve ever had. Not impressed! Definitely won’t come back.

I’ve been to this place 3 times so far and the service and food have been excellent every single time. Kind of glad I never read the Unilocal reviews before I decided to visit, because I never would’ve gone! They honored a $ 10 off $ 40 coupon we had and the hostess/waitress was incredibly attentive. Today I had the ceviche with mango, fish & shrimp(the waitress highly recommended it) and my husband had the super lomo. Both were delish! He’s not really a fan of Peruvian food in general, but he was sold after today’s lunch! I love this place.

I ordered a ceviche mixto and it was ok. Not great, excellent or delicious. The presentation of the plate was ok. It is a fair portion.

I came into this place without reading the reviews and like all others have mentioned, I was the only person in there for lunch. I ordered the ceviche mixto to go and it was a good amount, but wayyyyy too much salt and lemon. It was hard to eat the whole thing. I love love love ceviche, but this had too much bitterness. Service was ok as I was going for just take out.

The food was alright and the service was ok. I had a groupon and reading all these other reviews now I understand why it was so difficult to redeem the groupon. I’ve been to many other Peruvian restaurants and I have to say that I was expecting those authentic and distinguished Peruvian flavors and unfortunately they were lacking. We ordered the Aji de Gallina, the chaufa mariscos, the lomo saltado and the jalea mixta. For the price, I think you can find better Peruvian food in the area. Our waiter was attentive and seemed to know about the menu.

This update to my review is a response to the owner’s response to my last one. I wanted it to be made public so that customers would know Tommy’s comments were not true. I understand the rule on the coupon, but I also think the owner could make an exception when 2 customers are coming for their first time, spending double the amount of what the coupon was worth and the coupon expired the next day. We obviously were not going to come back the next day to eat again. The food was not great and we spent a lot of money. Again, we asked if the restaurant was closing because it was completely empty and the waitress said no. The part about them letting us eat there because we said we loved their food is hilarious. We had never been there! That is Tommy’s first lie. I started speaking louder when the waitress was being rude to me and not allowing me to use my coupon so the owner could hear what I was saying since he was just sitting there watching us without doing anything. When the owner of a restaurant sees a customer is unhappy, he should go over and see what the problem is. I shouldn’t have had to raise my voice(not yell) so that he could come over. Then when he came over, he looked like he was going to fight my brother and told us to get out. We paid our bill, walked to the door and my brother threw the part of our order that was to go on the floor by the door because he refused to eat anything else that came from that establishment. The waitress and everyone else was on the opposite side of the restaurant. So my throwing my food at the waitress’ face is another lie. If you read through the reviews, you will see most of the customers complain about the same thing… horrible service and rude owner. Tommy should know that replying with rude and false comments is not helping his restaurant look any better. If you are in the area, I suggest going to Osteria, the Italian restaurant right around the corner, for the complete opposite experience. Besides it being the best Italian food in Miami, the service can’t be beat. The owner, Conrado, treats everyone like family. He and the servers are all extremely friendly and attentive and really make you feel at home. I cannot recommend it enough. Ceviche y Limon could learn a thing or two from that type of establishment.

Truly one of my favorite ceviche places hands down. Try the ceviche mixto trio it’s a blend of different fish with 3 different marinades, all of them delicious and large portions!

Horrible service ! I called to order pick up. I was told my order would be ready in 35 minutes. After getting off the phone I realized I had ordered the wrong entrée, so I immediately called back. I was told it was too late to change my order because it was already being prepared(I thought it would take 35 minutes?). I was then transferred to the manager who told me he couldn’t change my order because it was being packaged already, when I suggested this was not possible considering the initial estimated time on my order, the manager then began to shout at me on the phone! I then told him I now understood why there were bad reviews based on service, to which he replied, «why did you order from here then?» He then suggested I couldn’t afford to pay for the initial ordered entrée. I then decided to cancel the entire order. He told me I shouldn’t have ordered from there, and to spend my money elsewhere. Not to worry, I will!

My co-worker bought a living social deal… Seems to be common for this restaurant to give patrons a hard time using it… My party of 4 arrived at around 1:00 pm on a Weekday for a co-workers birthday lunch. We love Peruvian food and we’re excited to try it out after seeing the deal online. Restaurant was empty aside from a table of two already seated when we arrived. We were sat promptly by the waitress. We ordered 4 plates as per a suggestion of the waitress… We were told portions were«personal». We had way too much food but it was all very good except for a pasta dish we ordered with a green sauce and very thin breaded meat… This dish had a very strange after taste. Just like everyone else, we had a deal and were told they couldn’t honor because we didn’t make a reservation… Reminder(just like everyone else) there was only one table there at 1 pm. Anyhow, she recited how they only allow 10 deals to be used a day… We did not ask to speak to the manager but agreed that we would not be going back to the restaurant… The manager or who I would like to say is the owner’s wife, came over and said although we did not follow the instructions she would honor the deal. We thanked her and handed in our credit cards for the rest of the bill. But what bothers me is that all the talk about the 10 deals only a day now was able to change… Why did they put up such a fight before if they could just override it anyways… Strange they would want to upset patrons instead of just obliging. All in all, with all the other Peruvian restaurants in Kendall we probably will not be returning.

We decided to give Ceviche Y Limon a try since my wife and I love peruvian food, and are always looking for places that have good ceviche. We were pretty dissapointed with everything. There is some major drama if you try to redeem the groupon. They will refuse to honor the deal and have some small print that you do not know about until you get there. Once your server sees you have a groupon, their attitude will change completely and give you horrible service. I will never come to this place again. The food itself lakced salt and flavor, and was missing the authentic peruvian flavors that I so love. Do yourselves a favor and eat somewhere else.

I split the ceviche mixto and calamares salteados a la oriental. The calamari was good, not what I would expect to eat at a Peruvian restaurant but tasty. The ceviche was good as well, I have definitely had much better. By the end of the bowl I was tired of it and I usually can eat a lot of ceviche very happily.

Confused about the low ratings. We were in the area and used the Unilocal deal to check out a new place since we were hungry. We were greeted warmly and immediately felt welcome. Cancha was promptly delivered to our table and it was piping hot and perfectly salted. Best I’ve had. We ordered two bowls of ceviche and the portions were very generous! The seafood tasted super fresh and there was plenty of flavor. Beyond the food what really stood out was the service and hospitality of all the staff including the chef who made sure to ask us if we were happy with our food. You can tell that the people who run this place care out the food and the service. Makes you feel good about where you spend your dollar. Will definitely be back!

Great cancha. Crunchiest and lightest cancha I’ve had in Miami so far. A bit oversalted for my taste. The server was totally nice and we had no problem using our (like a Groupon kinda) certificate. The ceviches were a good portion size. At $ 11 and $ 12.95 for our ceviches, I think they are a good value for what you get compared to other Peruvian ceviche restaurants. The seafood was fresh and presented nicely. I could use a bit more cilantro next time. I’m a fan of small, independently owned restaurants so I’ll be back.
