Had Sunday brunch at Buns & Buns. I had been to Buns & Buns before for other meals and had mixed experiences, but the brunch was quite good. We ordered the Spinach Poofs and the Corn Fritters to start and had the Yuzu Lobster and Prime Brisket and Fried Eggs as our meals. We also took advantage of the crazy cheap Mimosas. Quality I cannot complain about the quality of the food, everything that we ate was delicious. The Spinach Poofs, which were a lot like spinach dip that has been fried and mixed with cheese and tahini, were a great interesting start. The Corn Fritters although a bit difficult to eat were excellent, because when is fried corn a bad idea. I was also a big fan of the aioli sauce that they were served with. I love lobster and the Yuzu Lobster was incredible. It was basically two smaller lobster tails placed into steamed buns and served with Yuzu butter. The only thing better than the lobster may have been the bun they were served in. I also enjoyed the interesting take on a cole slaw it came with. Finally was the Prime Brisket and Fried Eggs, which was good from top to bottom. Two eggs with portobello mushroom, tons of brisket, and a truffle sauce served on a delicious piece of seven grain toast soaking in the flavor of the rest. In terms of food alone you would have trouble finding a better brunch. Quantity All of the plates were of good size, and honestly that was not how I had remembered this restaurant from past experiences. However, there is no denying the brunch portions are large and basically everything we ate was made to share. Value Very fair prices and then an absolute steal for the brunch drinks. Our meal came to around half of what it would at most other brunch spots and if anything we ended up with more food. Ambiance Buns & Buns is located in South Miami right across from Sunset Place. The restaurant has a very modern look with lots of unique items on the wall. They have a small outdoor seating area that makes good use of plants to keep some privacy on a busy walkway, and lots of fans which are an absolute necessity. Inside are a bunch more tables all surrounding an open kitchen area so if you are curious you can watch your food being made. There is also a large wall, with a screen hanging down that would allow them to play any major sporting events. The music was very laid back almost ambient tunes, which I had no problem with at a relaxing brunch. Crowd For brunch on a Sunday, with the great prices, I was shocked at how empty it was. With its location it can be forgotten about, but with the quality of food it was strange to see it so empty. Maybe it was because we were a bit early, but other brunch places in the area seemed to be packed. Service So here is where I have my issue with Buns & Buns. I absolutely hate how they handle the ordering process. The restaurant seems set up for a standard you sit down and get waited on experience. However, instead they choose to have you order up front before you sit down and then you get table service after. Honestly, I like to sit down order a drink and kind of think my way through the menu, and I felt like this style rushes the process. I see how maybe for business lunches this is a good idea, but for brunch it really cramped my style. I also did not love how we had like four waiters, none of which were really assigned to our table. It felt like way to much confusion. Usually I view service as either good or bad, here it was just awkward and I did not like it at all. Parking There are parking spots all around the area including street spots, garages, lots, and even valet. It may take a loop, but you will be able to find something. Extra At the end of the day the strange way of ordering and serving fell second to the deliciousness of the food and the tremendous prices. I can’t speak for other meals, but the brunch is definitely something worth checking out. Hopefully they will consider changing the style, at least for brunch, because that was really the big difference for me in finding it a near perfect meal.

This is one of my favorite go-to brunch spots. Not only do they serve brunch Sunday’s but on Saturdays. That’s hard to find. Their drink special is the closest thing to unlimited. Their choices are belinis and mimosas for $ 2 each! Cent beat it I’ve had a few things here over the four or five times that I’ve been. Both the bacon and salmon benedicts are great. The truffle fries are a must! And if you want a SLIGHTLY heavier option, since a majority of the meals are small portions, is the Duroc Pork Belly and Polenta. It has so much flavor and the polenta was perfect. The bun they throw on the side tastes like a dough, lightly salted croissant ball — YUM. If you haven’t been here yet, you must go. And if you have been then you’ll probably be back. Great spot, great concept and great prices.

My husband and I decided to hit South Miami for a quick brunch. All of our usual spots had crazy waits, so we kept walking and saw this cute place that we’d never come to. The menu looked great, so we decided to eat here. The vibe is modern, comfortable, relaxed. We ordered the burrata, short rib steamed buns, and bacon eggs Benedict. Everything was delicious! I was so surprised that I haven’t heard more raving about this place. The burrata and creamy and fresh and the heirloom tomatoes were perfectly ripe, the steam buns were plump and airy and the ribs were meaty and savory. My husband loved the eggs Benedict. Plus, we were in and out within thirty minutes. Service was fast and everyone was so friendly and helpful. We will definitely come here again for brunch!

The brunch here does not disappoint. They have a varied menu and everything is at a great price point. Plus ladies drink free mimosas on Saturday and Sunday. The food is fresh and delicious and the wait staff is attentive and friendly. I had the bacon eggs bendict and it was amazing. For dessert we had the torrejas and they literally melted in your mouth. The place is a little on the small side but it doesn’t feel cramped or uncomfortable. I’m definitely coming back!

This place has been on my list since first trying buns in London. It was worth checking out. We had various dishes. 1. Spinach poofs– excellent. I had to try them after reading all the reviews and it was worth ordering. I would get them again. 2. Burrata salad– was the best thing I had in my opinion. The presentation was beautiful and it tasted just as good as it looked. The bread they serve it with was FANTASTIC. If anything I go back just for that bread. 3. Beef buns– the beef itself has a phenomenal taste. The bun wasn’t bad but it felt a little heavier than ones I’ve had in the past. I’m no bun expert so I’ll leave it there. 4. Shrimp buns– were my favorite! The sauce it comes with was also very good. I would order these again in a heartbeat. 5. Lobster buns– slightly disappointed with these. Lobster should be chopped up as I was fighting with it to eat it. Also not as flavorful as other dishes. Overall good place. Great vibe. Great service.

So it’s a Sunday evening and after taking a peek to see what was out there, I finally decided on this little place. After checking in with a friend to see if they wanted to join, things tend to be more fun when there’s company, we were off! When you walk in, they have pictures of the food on the wall to your left. They take your order when you first come inside and then you’re seated. That was a first, but no big deal. Now, I’m not sure whether it was because they kinda have an open kitchen or if it’s because we live in Miami and it’s always hot– but my, my, it was hot in there! That really was the only flaw, crank the a/c down a little more please. Sweating well eating a meal is not too pleasant. We had ordered the Spinach Poofs as an appetizer, those were pretty yummy. Originally thought they would have been more solid but they do have a gooey spinach center. If you like spinach dip then you’ll love these. They were crispy on the outside and green softness on the inside. I went with the Duroc Pork Belly, which came with pickled slaw and some bread. Maybe it’s just me but I totally loved the flower that came on the plate. I thought the pork was cooked perfectly and the bread was just so soft! My companion went with the Lamb Ribs and he seemed to fairly enjoy them. Those babies are messy though so fully expect to get your hands dirty with them. :)

The ambiance gives a really nice and neat feeling when you get to the place! It was my first time there, so it was kind of confusing for me at first! You’re suppose to order at the counter by the door & then they give you a wait number and later the servers brings you your order! You’re able to pick and chose wherever you like to seat your party at. The menu was quite limited, but from the selection available it looked great! My friend and I had ordered a few items and we got to share and taste a little bit of everything. We absolutely loved the spinach poof, the sauce they had prepare for it was amazing! Also we had the pork belly & it was great! Very tender and the flavor was just right!

I had the opportunity to sample Buns and Buns at a recent Unilocal event. I promised myself next time I was in the area, I would stop in for the real thing. It’s sort of fast casual, as you order at the front register. However, from then on, it turns into full service restaurant style as you are served and pay at the end. The plating of the food is also very beautiful, real plates, etc. I started with the small portion of corn fritters. Beer battered, hot, crunchy, sweet, yummy bits. They are served with an aioli, but it almost doesn’t need it. Next up, I asked if they had any vegetarian sandwich options. Of course I could have gotten a salad(which looked great!), but I needed to try their namesake and get some bread. They offered an off the menu veggie sandwich on a brioche bun. I can see why they are named buns and buns. The bread was delicious. The veggies were freshly roasted; including asparagus, mushroom, peppers, onion, avocado, tomato, lettuce, and cheese. All fresh. The sandwiches are served a la carte. I did see a huge plate of amazing truffle fries go by, wish they would include a small portion with the entrée. I couldn’t resist the Unilocal checkin offer. A torreja. It is a slice of brioche soaked in custard with a maple glaze with a side of vanilla ice cream. On weekends, they also have a Bellini or mimosa on brunch special for $ 2, which is great! The service was on point. The ambiance was a cool gastropub vibe. I would be happy to go back!

They claim to be the«Sommeliers of Buns» and they truly are! We came here for the first time ordering three dishes: the brisket, the spicy chicken and the crispy fish. Each of the dishes came with a different type of bread brioche, ciabatta and steamed bun, respectively, and perfectly prepared. Highly recommend a visit!

I completely loved this sandwich. Imagine hot wings on a nice fresh piece of bread and this is what we got. The chicken was enough to give this 5 stars. It was perfectly cooked to have zero stick on its bite. It packed a beautiful salty spice that so nicely complimented the slightly greasy meat. All this was kindly absorbed into the fresh bread bun that resembled a rustic Italian loaf with a perfectly crisp exterior yet warm and fluffy crumb. Check this place out.

The place itself is very nicely decorated and clean. They have indoor and outdoor seating. We were immediately attended by the host, he told us that they have pictures of the entire menu just in case if we weren’t sure on what we wanted to eat. I ordered the burger and so did my bf with a side of fries. The burger was good, nothing out of this world. I put ketchup on mine, which made it taste super yummy, but without it, it wouldve been bland. The fries took up an entire bowl, which is definitely enough for two. However, they were super thin. I wish they were thicker, it would’ve been more comfortable eating thicker fries than grabbing 5 thin fries at a time to satisfy my taste buds. I had asked for water and they gave us sparkling water. I’m not a big fan of sparkling water. And the water they served us, also tasted like the bottle was open and it let out all the bubbles. It wasn’t refreshing. The service was good. The host was very nice and helpful. We had another employee help us out too, and he was also very nice. This place was alright. I think I want to go back to try their duroc pork belly, since they said it was their most popular dish. But I’m not too crazy about it.

Buns & Buns & Awesome Service should be the restaurant name! What an outstanding dining experience. My husband and I stumbled in last night around 915(they close @ 10) and we were warmly greeted by Mario who took the time to review the menu options. I always appreciate the staffs opinions on menu selections and Mario did not disappoint! Starter: Spinach Poofs — lightly fried spinach and manchego epicness with a delicious and flavorful sauce(reminded me of tahini/Mediterranean fare) there was a plentiful amount of spinach and yummy melted cheese to go around Buns: Octopus — cooked perfectly tender, the flavors were interesting with a but if zest Pork Belly — comes with two, soft steamed buns to fill with melting pork goodness. The slaw with red onion and bourbon glaze makes this dish Dessert: Torreja — like caramel french toast on crack with cold ice cream and tart berries. Crazy good. Really, the dining experinece made me give Buns & Buns that 5th star. Mario provided out of this world service. He continually went out of his way to ensure our comfort and satisfaction at Buns & Buns — best service I’ve had in a long time. Really and truly. We’re looking forward to $ 2 mimosas for weekend brunch! See ya then Mario!

Buns and Buns is located in a chic area of South Miami. They offer a hip and stylish casual dining experience, with excellent customer service. Its fast gourmet style food at affordable prices. The open kitchen design and rhythmic background music gives an uplifting fresh and cozy appeal. We visited Buns and Buns for Sunday Brunch. They offer $ 2.00 Mimosas and Bellinis during Brunch. The peach Bellini was very refreshing and super delicious. I ordered the Smoked Salmon Eggs Benedict, and it is absolutely the best Eggs Benedict I ever had! The Eggs were cooked perfectly. The creamy yoke melted over the smoked salmon and the toasted ciabatta bread. The hollandaise sauce had a slight chipotle taste and tied all the amazing flavors together. I savored each bite. Excellent service! Everyone was very attentive, fast and super friendly. They serve their food with fresh ingredients and awesome presentation. Extra Unilocal plus, you receive a Free Key Lime mousse dessert for checking in. It was really good, light and flavorful. I very much enjoyed my dining experience at Buns and Buns and look forward to visiting again soon!

You arrive at the restaurant and you see menu’s by the hostess stand, this is where you will order your meal, which I found to be a little odd but let’s move on… We ordered with the hostess and sat down. It was a Wednesday night and the restaurant was not that busy, only another couple were there when we sat. We ordered homemade lemonade, the crispy thai shrimp and the pork belly. The pork belly was delicious, the sauce on the side was sweet but not overly so, the bun was soft, all together the perfect combo for your taste-buds. The crispy thai shrimp buns were good but I felt there was a little too much cilantro on them for my taste. Whereas the pork belly plate you assemble yourself the shrimp already come prepared inside their buns. The homemade lemonades were very good, not overly sweet or overly tart, just right. Our waitress was new but was very nice, and the manager(maybe owner) stopped by the table throughout the night to ask if we were pleased with the food and service. With check-in you receive a free key lime mousse, I wasn’t very impressed with this one, the taste was a little bland for being key lime, maybe I was expecting more of a key lime pie sort of taste which just wasn’t there, I wouldn’t order this on my next visit.

Buns & Buns is one of several eateries in the South Miami area. This gastropub specializes in freshly made buns, breads and mini loaves, all used to create a variety of dishes that are flavorful, creative, visually appealing, and pretty darn quick to serve! Hence their hashtag #GastroFast … It really is a quick process from ordering to receiving your food! I began my lunch with some red sangria(yummy), and then placed my order: small order of spinach poofs(very popular with the Unilocal reviews), shrimp Thai buns, and burrata salad. ALLTHREE were wonderful. I could eat spinach poofs for breakfast lunch and dinner! Imagine if spinach dip were made into little fried balls of goodness… exactly that. They were crispy enough to stay their shape yet soft enough to be easily cut into with a fork. Shrimp Thai buns… LOVELOVELOVE. The spicy heat was just enough to stimulate my tastebuds but not too much that I couldn’t savor and appreciate the flavors. Plenty of shrimp too!!! Burrata…lovely. The mozzarella was ultra fresh, tomatoes and watermelon with the balsamic on top delicious, and the mini bread loaf the perfect companion! I will definitely be back. There are so many other choices that I would love to try – and it seems they have a great happy hour and weekend brunch going on as well. Check them out! :)

My favorite place in sunset! Yum! I think I have probably tried everything in the menu by now; although they do switch it up a bit so they have new dishes every once in a while. The buns are delicious! My favorite ones are the shrimp and the pork belly! Their burrata salad is also very very very good and their desserts are to die for! I only have good things to say about this place! I hope they stick around for a while! The location is perfect, the service is always great, and the food is delicious!
