Place is great and so is the service, the food is delicious BUT if you are looking for a big menu with variety of items this is not the place to go, menu is very limited( Unilocal’s menu is not updated) it has a beautiful view but we couldn’t sit outside because there was a private party but we had a nice dinner and was happy with everything.

Went there during Miami Spice, 4 people, check was $ 300(during Miami Spice) food was not something out of the ordinary, honestly, it was just the presentation and the experience but the fact of the matter is that the food was not what I expected. I tried, Lobster bisque, bad. Lobster paste with caviar, not good, try other 3 more and nothing was really good.

Expensive, but what an enjoyable evening. The staff was really on their game. We went every recommendation. Started with the king crab legs and yellow fin tuna. Both were fresh and delicious. The main course we had the snapper and main lobster. Both were excellent.

Azul Restaurant We tried it during a Miami Spice offering. The place is super fancy, very expensive and the portion are micro sizes. I guess that’s the upscale concept. While the food was good, and the service impeccable, the overall experience has one word to describe it: overpriced! If you have a date night and want to impress go for it, but be ready with a few credit cards; and you might have to go grab a sandwich later, because portions are really small. I can’t say this place is bad or even not good by any means. I can say that I had better food in other places without the crazy prices. It seems a place for rich to be around rich, sort of a status thing, but I can’t say I would go back again. For those prices I need the food to be amazing, and here it is good, not amazing.

Hands down the best dining experience I’ve had in a long time! Went to celebrate my 5year wedding anniversary and it was a meal I will not forget. The food was fantastic but the service was by far my favorite part of the evening. Brent and Caleb were wonderful, attentive to every single detail and truly impressive. The pork belly starters were delish! My husband and I both agree it should be an entrée. As an appetizer I had the beef tartare… wow and for my entrée the Maine lobster. It’s incredible how everything placed in front of us got better and better! This is the perfect place for a romantic celebration, hope to be back to celebrate many more.

I haven’t written a review quite sometime but this restaurant deserves it. I’m very picky and particular. I will say that the chef had sent out a sample of steak tar tar which mind you I don’t do raw. I tried because why not I’m on vacation and I’m feeling a little adventurous. ITWASAMAZING. Oh, did I mention so was their yellow fin tuna tar tar? The service was wonderful and so was the food. I am defiantly coming back the next time I am in the area!

My boyfriend surprised me with anniversary celebration at Azul, and he couldn’t have chosen a better place! From the moment we walked in the hostess and waiter congratulated us on our celebration, which is only one of many examples of their attention to detail(I also got a gift box). We got to sit outside, enjoying the view of a beautiful Miami night, very romantic. Service is impeccable, dinner was delicious! High quality ingredients, superb presentation, and outstanding service and dining experience make for a fantastic date night. It is pricey, but well worth it.

Great place for Miami Spice. Very pricey otherwise. It’s worth a visit for the experience. The ambiance is fantastic. Being situated on Brickell Key you will enjoy a pleasant view of the water. Make sure to ask for outside seating to fully enjoy the atmosphere. The food is nothing special.

Service was amazing, ambiance was relaxing and comfortable. Food was out of this world, including the dessert! Would definitely recommend. I loved the open kitchen and being able to see the chefs in actions. Hostess was also very friendly!

This restaurant is why they have 5 stars. Service is impeccable, menu is innovative and wine list is wonderful. Luckily we were able to get a premier table because Miami doesn’t eat until late so our 7:30pm reservation was before the crowd. We got an amazing bottle of wine, beef tartare, short ribs, hogfish snapper and salad. Most are small shareable plates. The view is great as well. Great date night or dinner out for foodies!

I had a big date with a very beautiful woman, so needless to say I was trying to impress her. All I can say is Azul didn’t let me down. Everything about this place is impressive. I asked for a nice view and they were happy to oblige… and wow what a spectacular view it is. The décor and ambience in the restaurant are truly romantic. The waiter provided us with a great experience. She went over the whole menu with us and provided us with some great recommendations. She was attentive to our every need. Everything we ordered had a beautiful presentation and was a true culinary delight. The dessert was the cherry on top. I do not have enough good things to say about this place. I enjoyed an amazing meal and experience over the backdrop of a breathtaking view. What else could I ask for? If you need a great date spot. this is the place.

Well I finally kept my word and returned to the wonderful spot that is known as Azul inside of the Mandarin Oriental off of Brickell Key. The price is still up there but the service, the view, and the food make it all worth it. The ONLY reason I am lacking one star this go round is due to not caring for one of the entrees and either of the desserts. Hey! No biggie, this place is great!

First of all let me start by saying me and my fiancé and serious foodies and cooks. Claudio our waiter completed our five star experience. The food was phenomenal and the presentation was flawless. I brought my fiancé here for her birthday dinner and we were not disappointed. I highly recommend outside seating over looking the bay, the view is unreal especially at night. We started dinner off with the tuna poke(dish featured on food network highly rated) and the seared scallop with foie gras. The scallop was cooked to perfection and the foie gras completely melted in your mouth. For the main course I had the pan seared duck breast and my fiancé had the lamb dish. Both were out of this world. I would highly recommend this place to any serious foodie or someone looking for a nice restaurant for the total experience. I will definitely be coming back again.

This restaurant has been in my bucket list for the past 10 years and for some reason I never had the opportunity to go. Finally I went on Saturday. We had a reservation but we got there much later unfortunately. The host was very accommodating and sat us immediately but the table was in a corner and couldn’t enjoy the nice view. Now lets talk about food. We order the corn risotto and sea scallops as an appetizer, entrée we ordered the lobster and the NY strip, for dessert we ordered the chocolate mousse. Overall the food was good but I expected to be amazing. The service was good as well expected from the quality of the restaurant. At the end if the meal they gave us a small dessert sample from the house and a little bag to take out. We enjoyed the experience, I wish we would have arrive earlier to enjoy the view and the tasting course menu as it was too late to order it.

How about we start with the view. The limited 5 tables outside is what is dying for at this place. Just check my photo and I think you will know why. Definitely ask for outside tables. The food is very delicate, flavorful and the chef is definitely made a statement in his works. We started with the colorful beet root vichyssoise, it is definitely a must try with the vivid flavor and beautiful presentation. The steak and egg tartar is alright, nothing unexpected. We ordered the celeriac and ok shrimp risotto and salmon Tom Ka gai. Both are good but nothing amazing as the beet root vichyssoise. For the desert round, the chef is trying a bit too hard for a good ending and the Meyer lemon sable is a bit too busy. So over ally, the food is definitely more delicate than what you usually get from the restaurant, the beet root vichyssoise is too amazing and everything after that seemed a bit plain. The service is great as expected, I forgot what wine did we get but they are okay. Overall, a very delight experience. Score: 90⁄100.

One of the french restaurants on my friends and I’s list of places to try for Miami Spice. Super fancy place inside the Mandarin Orient hotel, with valet parking only, although is discounted a little bit for dining there. The décor and ambiance of the restaurant was nice and pleasant. A very romantic spot, especially the outdoor seating that is more intimate with a nice view. Unfortunately, our party was over the max(4) allowed for outdoor seating. To start, the bread platter at Azul is by far hands down the best bread I’ve had as a complimentary appetizer. I don’t know what they do to make it so yummy, but I couldn’t stop myself from eating it. Definitely made me get full real fast! They also gave us a complimentary on the house a shot of their chilled split pea soup with a splash lemon infused olive oil, interesting but delicious. For my first course on the MS menu, I got the chilled beet soup with lobster. Very good and refreshing. The color of the soup was vibrant fuscia which made it so pretty, I kind of didn’t want to eat it bc it was that pretty. For my main entrée, I got the kurobuta pork belly pappardelle. The pork belly was amazing! I wish there was more of it! Crispy and full of flavor. Unfortunately the plate was more pasta than the main star of the dish. I only had 5 tiny cubes of it at best, so a little disappointing. The pasta could’ve been cooked better too, it was a little under-cooked, which I noticed was the same for the other entrée dish my friend got — the risotto. Dessert! My favorite course of the night. I got the chocolate pecan financier with creamy mascarpone coffee gelato. OMG was it to die far. The gelato was amazing, the best gelato flavor ever. I wanted more and I wanted to pick up the plate and lick it. I would definitely come back for that dessert. Yum! Overall, a pretty decent experience. Service was superb. Good food plus good company always fun.

This was a disappointment. We made reservations 2 weeks in advance specifying an outdoor table. The Azul is known for its outdoor view. We confirmed the day of dinning. When we arrived(finding the place was tricky) we were told it would be an hour wait for an outside table but they have an indoor table available. Who does that? We were seated promptly Inside by a window. The bread was good, the tasting gift the chef sent out was delicious. But the food looked better then it tasted. The beat lobster cold soup was gross. I don’t know how else to describe it just not good flavor combinations. The stake tartar was raw. The pasta dish we both got was chewy. Chewy pasta and it stuck together. The deserts both had really gross bitter elements and ginger to much ginger. The flavors just did not complement each other. The server was great but I felt the whole restaurant was a bit slow. I ordered a drink and i got it after the appetizer which took 25 min to come out. We wont be back all hype. The service was good and the food looked pretty but the flavors were missing.
