I bought a house that had an Ace roof installed about 2008 on it. After discovering a leak that the previous owner did not report, I contacted Ace to see if they could come take a look. Because I had water coming through the ceiling, I attempted to put a short-term patch on to reduce the damage. In doing so, I discovered rotten wood and a leak that looks like it had been there since the roof was installed. The roof was still in the warranty period though it said transferability was at their discretion. After a couple attempts, I finally was able to talk to someone by phone who gave me a hard time about coming to take a look. Finally, I was told that they would get back to me in a couple days after they«thought about it.» That never happened. I finally called another roofer to take a look who was able to do a repair in about two hours. He said that there was a pretty good gap in the shingles from the last installation and that the roof was not well installed(other indicators included mis-installed flashing). I am dismayed that Ace was unwilling to even come take a look and try to correct their mistake, even with me offering to pay them, understanding that the last owner failed to mention the leak. Poor service in my opinion.
