This was a really nice little place. I highly appreciate the husband and wife team that run it. They make their own charcuterie and in Miami that is rare. The sausage is good too. I went to lunch with my BF and we each had a sandwich, followed by crepes for dessert. I always appreciate dessert crepes, but I rather enjoy savory crepes more. I didn’t give them a fifth star because I would have liked to have seen more savory crepes. I love crepes with whole grain mustard and lemon, or caviar and cream. They have the little window outside where they sell sandwiches and quickie bites. It’s useful if you’re in a hurry.

Went here based on some other Unilocalers reviews and they were all right, this place is very good, the food and the price is just right, I really hope the don’t close since it is big and they don’t have so many patrons, the reason may be is because the zone and outside of the place is unattractive, well… the inside is not attractive as well, but believe me this French couple deliver good food at good prices. They have a breakfast special for $ 5 and a lunch buffet for $ 9. Come here and experience it for your self, and spread the word, I really don’t want this place to close… ahhh and don’t forget their homemade bread AWESOME!

I could not wait to try this place, so we went there for lunch. The place looks and feels like a family diner with even a sitting area where you can wait for your party. The owners, who are from Normandy, made us feel at home us and everything looked appetizing, either on the menu or the buffet. The a la carte items are very affordable, we tried magret de canard(roasted duck fillet) and coquilles saint-jacques(jumbo scallops, Normandy style) and it was all delicious. A couple of sweet crepes with perfect espresso for dessert did it fine for us. Can’t wait to go back for more.

Maybe you pass everyday in front of this place on the 36th street and you do not see it. I decided to stop again(after I tried La Maison for dinner) to have something quick for lunch. I know they have a super cheap homemade buffet but last friday I got a a lots of work and I decided to have a sandwich baguette at the bar(Comte cheese, ham with butter of course and tomatoes with salad) mmmmh delicious. They have a window if you re in the rush and you can just pick up your food. They bake the chocolate croissants, so it’s always fresh and try the crêpe, yeap this is the real delicious one. The ambiance is really relax, you feel like home. Also forget your idea that French places are expensive. This place is really cheap for the quality of food and service you get… If you have not noticed I’m a fan.

Was looking for a place to stop for lunch before flying out. Found this place on Unilocal.Easy to find. Parking in back. Chose the buffet since I don’t regularly eat French food– I could try everything. Service was impeccable. The lady who sat me walked me through the whole menu. Very friendly and welcoming. The buffet was great. A wide variety of dishes. And surprisingly high quality food at the buffet. My favorite was a potato casserole dish and the penne pasta with marinara(I’m sure they have official names). I highly recommend this place and will definitely stop back the next time I fly through. Wonderful.

Have you ever been to a friend’s house to eat and the food is really good ? We drive by this place every single day, several times… and often wondered, when we saw the French cuisine sign come up. In appearance, everything points towards authenticity… on the outside. So through a fortuitous chain of events, we decided to stop this Saturday to have some coffee and Pain au chocolat in their little«window» — While we waited for our coffee to brew, we took a peek inside the main dining room and event read through the menu… we were hooked … fortunately so. We ventured into the restaurant with no expectations, and were totally and completely pleasantly surprised. Beginning with good service from Marie Anne who proudly explained to us how this place materialized from their dream and how her husband chooses the«Special dishes» from whatever he finds in market and inspires him to prepare an authentic dish. Can it get anymore authentic? It can ! They hail from Normandy in France, but have traveled throughout the country, French Colonies and Canada and as such have rounded their cuisine and honed their skills. In the end it boils down to the fact that when you enter La Maison, you are entering friends’ house, and you are welcomed with the pride and warmth of a family that wants to share heritage, culture and experience with patrons. And what better way to share ones culture than through cuisine. The buffet was awesome, complete and authentic, remember, you are walking into a true French restaurant– tomatoes, vegetable, chicken prepared with beer, award wining mashed potatoes, au gratin zucchini and potatoes, warmly presented and totally inviting. I opted for a medium Entrecôte with French fries and a pepper sauce, and that was simply perfect. Step into La Maison and clear your mind, channel French culture… hey Mary Anne will even gleefully allow you to practice your French if you wish as they are multilingual … sit back and take in the whole experience, when you walk back out in the the tropical Miami glorious sun, you will do so having experienced a true cultural experience… once again, what better way to take a trip than through your senses… in this case, taste and smell … la maison — merci d’un repas fantastique

Sparked from an intense curiosity having noticed this restaurant as we pass it virtually twice a day every day, we decided to stop by and scope it with no intentions of doing anything but looking at the menu. It is located in a spot on 36th St. in Miami Springs that over the years we have seen many different restaurants come and go. By no means is this an elegant area, its right next to the airport in an older looking part of Springs, one that is lost in time, in the 60’s. Again, we were very intrigued as this is the last place we would have expected French Cuisine. In Miami we have been disappointed with new French restaurants as you find out that the Chef is from X country(somewhere in Latin America usually) but studied culinary school in France. Of course when that happens the food is pretentious, overpriced and not worth it, as happened with a restaurant like that in Doral that ended up closing. This one however, on the outside lacks any pretentiousness, it has a simple sign that says«la maison»(not even capitalized) and another that states there is a lunch buffet. We decided to just look but noticed one of those windows like the Cuban places have for Coladas here in Miami. So we park, notice that instead of Pastelitos and Croquetas, they have Pain au Chocolate, and Quiche! So we decide to have those two things and yes, they do have Coladas, so one of those as well. To go please. As the girl prepares our coffee we look at the menu posted outside and pop our heads in to look at the inside. A simple unpretentious menu greeted us and simple yet very french décor inside, we agreed that we have to come back soon. As we head to the car, I put my hand in the bag and grab some of the Quiche(ok I was very hungry) and I take a bite of the Quiche. OH. MY! I give some to my hubby, we look at each other, drop the bags in the car, drink the coffee and turn around and go inside for lunch. Yes the Quiche was THAT good! It was for a late lunch so the establishment was not full which is nice for us as we got full attention of Marie –Anne the owner and Chef’s wife. She was incredibly patient with my thousand and one questions and very informative about the idea and menu. She is from Normandy, and she also told us that the idea is to have a gastronomical«Tour De France» with dishes from all over that amazing country. Immediately those words were music to my ears as a cycling fan j’aime Le Tour. I can do a taste Tour too! Please let me state how happy I was to realize this is a simple and honest to goodness REAL French restaurant. I had the lunch buffet. it was varied and delicious. It included: Salad, Charcuteries, Soup, Beans, White and Yellow Rice, Mashed Potatoes, Roasted Tomatoes with dressing, Potatoes Au Gratin, Zucchini Au Gratin, Steamed Veggies(oh yum), Pasta, Meatballs with Potatoes in a red sauce, and Chicken cooked in Beer. I might be missing a thing or two but that is all I remember. For $ 9 you get the buffet and a drink. I had the Vegetable soup(DELISH), Mashed Potatoes, Roasted Tomatoes, Potatoes and Zucchini Au Gratin, Steamed Veggies, Meatballs and Chicken. Of each I served myself a teeny bit to taste so I could come back for what I liked best. It was all quite delicious, I mean it. It is home made and tastes like you are in a French home. I did go back for the Potatoes Au Gratin. they were spectacular! All in all what you can expect is a French home cooked meal, delicious and unpretentious. They have specials depending on what Marie-Anne’s hubby finds fresh and interesting(as any good Chef knows should be the way it is) and not only offer delicious lunch buffets but dishes such as Entrecôte, Magrets De Canard Aux Pommes(Grilled duck fillet with apple purée & mashed potatoes), Mussels stewed in white wine, and also simple sandwiches on baguettes. This was a wonderful surprise, and we are thrilled we decided to stop. I am almost sorry to tell anyone of my secret new favorite place, but in all fairness I must share with the world! Tres Magnifique!
