I asked the guy here to make me a drink and he completely ignored me and kept cleaning. Umm excuse me? Really? First time and last time I’ll ever go here

I love this place! The owner is SO nice and the food is always yummy! And so good for you! The salmon is my favorite but the BBQ chicken is amazing too. Always a good selection of veggies and they are always super yummy. Even the Brussel sprouts! I always get a shot of wheatgrass with my lunch. Perfect place for a quick healthy lunch. I always stop by when I’m on the beach.

I was very excited to try this place. Especially since I recently relocated from Los Angeles to Miami Beach. This place definitely had the ring of a place I’d find in my neighborhood in LA. Let’s start with the service. On my last visit, and I’ve only been here two times, the guy working the prepared food section was sitting at a table with his lady friend. He didn’t even let us know he’d be right with us. He was just going on and on and on with his friend. I’m used to some pretty bad customer service, after all this is South Florida, but c’mon! My second gripe with this place is that they don’t even label the food. Of course some stuff is obvious, but other things are impossible to decipher. Don’t expect the attendant to help you out either. He could care less. The only reason that I am giving this place three stars is because some of the food is really good. Some of it is alright, and some just kind of lacking in flavor. The smoothies and juices are really good too. I do give them props for using ingredients you don’t usually find on the beach. And the market is great, if you need some emergency supply of supplements. Otherwise buy it online, way way way cheaper. Honestly this place would get more stars from me, and repeat visits, if the staff were nicer and more engaging. It seems like if you’re not a regular, you are invisible.

The fellow behind the counter is a genuinely affable guy. That will always score you points with me. Much like the name implies, this isn’t just a spot to score some freshly-made juice. This is a full-on market with vitamins, minerals and all those other good things that I should spend more time and effort putting into my body. In fact, as I write this, I am pretty sure that liquor is steaming out of my pores. Oy. What to do when abusing your body has become de rigueur? Come here and start to make things better. Don’t, though, let your eyes get bigger than your(distended) stomach. Get a juice OR a salad. If you get both, you’ll fall into some sort of health shock and you don’t want that, do you? Being that I was weak of body when I limped inside, I opted for a juice. I figure drinking required less effort than eating and chewing. #justbeingreal Also good to note: don’t come here in a rush. As far as I can tell, this is a one man shop and he makes everything to order. Custom requires time, people. Thankfully, it also comes with a smile. I ordered a kale, cucumber, ginger, apple, and lemon juice. I should have told him to ease up on the ginger(for taste) but it’s probably better that the juice had as much root as it did, because my stomach was in distress. The juice helped. Each time I come to a place like Vita-Life, I wonder why I don’t frequent them more often. And then I think about beer. But, as a break between beers, I think I would do well to have some more fresh juice in my life. Or, maybe a salad. Watch what happens!

Juicing, like cupcakes, bacon, cats and other notable trends seems to be top of everyone’s mind lately. I went over to a friends house and he’s got wax-covered boxes of bulk fruits and veggies. You open his refrigerator and it’s a colorful cornucopia of nature’s finest. Since I’ve yet to drop wads on a state-of-the-art juicer, I make frequent trips to Vita-Life. What was once a convenience store has been updated to a vitamin and good-for-you emporium. The lovely man working behind the counter features two of favorite juice blends… one that produces a green looking liquid treat and another that’s fuchsia in color. Today’s fruit/veggie juice might have been the best blend yet: oranges, apples, carrots, and beets. Just like that, breakfast! Next time I’ll add some ginger and kale to better round out the wellness factor. Aside from the behind-the-counter made-to-order sustenance, my friend there sells aisles and aisles of vitamins and powders. This addition to the short 6th street block of health and wellness focused businesses is a welcome treat.

I stopped in for some vitamins and the prices were reasonable. I was going to get lunch too, but I was kinda freaked out by the big pile of ash under the burning incense stick on the counter right in the middle of the food prep area. I’m not joking — less than 4 inches from the fresh vegetables and the«clean» dishes. I’m a 10-second rule kinda girl and not generally uptight, but that just seems obviously wrong and gross.

Holy cow, a health food bar serving kale and quinoa? I’m obviously a fan. Even more so because of the location next to a yoga studio and organic spa. It’s weird because this place is decorated like a gym and looks like a meathead paradise — a place to buy protein powder or whatever. But they actually have some great supplements and snacks in addition to the food bar. Service was friendly too! Always thrilled to find a place like this when I’m traveling.

Came here based on Katherine’s review, but was disappointed. No produce and very little in the way of food, but great for vitamins and supplements! Seems to be a hang-out spot for local body-builders, fitness competitors, and anyone serious about their supplements and nutrition.

Great neighborhood shop! Very good selection of vitamins and supplements here at competitive prices. Love the tea selection which includes Alvita and Traditional Medicinals brands. Wonderful natural body care, essential oils and Bach flower essences. Simple and small inventory of foods yet what they do have is good. The store manager, Rick, is helpful, informative and generous with samples!!! If you live on the beach, make a point of visiting this store. Your health is your wealth!
